Hearing Wang Yang's humble words, Mordo seemed very pleased. He nodded and said, "Good. As a sorcerer, you should have that kind of humility!"
"Remember that, no matter who you study under in the future!"
Mordo said with a smile.
Mordo seemed to be hinting at something, leaving Wang Yang a little puzzled.
Wong spoke up as well. "Wang Yang, your talent is outstanding. Having us teach you would only waste it. With Master Mordo teaching you from now on, you should be able to put that talent to better use!"
Wong also put on a reluctant expression, though inwardly he was absolutely delighted.
Teaching a student like Wang Yang had been far too demoralizing.
Besides, whenever he taught Wang Yang, he had to worry about whether he was teaching him incorrectly.
That was an unpleasant feeling. With Mordo taking over, he could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Whether it had been Kaecilius before or Mordo now, either was a wonderful prospect as far as Wong was concerned.
He finally no longer had to worry about teaching Wang Yang.
Wang Yang had no particular opinion. He did not care who he studied under, as long as they could teach him magic.
"I'll follow your arrangements, Master!"
Hearing Wang Yang agree, not only was Wong delighted, but Hamir was too. At last, someone would understand how he felt.
Kamar-Taj, however, looked at Mordo with a complicated expression, as though harboring mixed feelings.
Mordo naturally noticed as well. He looked at Kamar-Taj in confusion and asked, "Master Kamar-Taj, is there something you want to tell me?"
"Master Mordo, there's nothing I want to say!"
Kamar-Taj could not help sighing.
"Then what's with that expression?"
Mordo found it rather strange. The way Kamar-Taj was looking at him made him uncomfortable.
Kamar-Taj shook his head. "I was just thinking!"
In truth, he was worried that Wang Yang's talent would shatter Mordo's confidence as well.
Anyone with even a little accomplishment would feel crushed upon encountering a genius like this. Even Mordo would be no exception.
"Master Kamar-Taj, I think you doubt my ability to teach!"
Mordo did not take it to heart, however, and continued with a hearty laugh.
"Master Mordo, I really don't mean that. It's just that Wang Yang is a genius."
Kamar-Taj offered a word of warning. Wang Yang was not someone just any Master of the Mystic Arts could walk away from unscathed.
But upon hearing Kamar-Taj's words, Mordo smiled and said, "A genius? Highly talented students are the only ones I teach!"
He had no interest in teaching sorcerers who lacked talent!
Mordo declared.
Kamar-Taj glanced at him.
He let out a soft sigh.
Mordo was far too confident. Perhaps Mordo was stronger than him, but he really had not encountered many geniuses.
Was he worried about Wang Yang?
He was merely worried that Mordo might suffer a blow.
But as the saying went, good advice could not save someone determined to court death.
So he could not be bothered to say any more.
"I'm sure Master Mordo will be able to teach Wang Yang!"
Kamar-Taj did not bother elaborating. After a few perfunctory remarks, everyone began their discussion.
Only after this discussion ended.
Did everyone finally leave.
"All right, come with me!"
Once everyone had left, Mordo rose and headed toward the training grounds.
"Wang Yang, since so many Masters of the Mystic Arts say you're talented, I believe it too. But I hope you won't squander your talent!"
"Learning magic is tedious, and it won't be easy. It requires perseverance!"
"Do you understand?"
Mordo instructed Wang Yang as they walked.
"Thank you for your guidance, Master Mordo!"
Hearing Mordo's advice, Wang Yang quickly replied.
Mordo was very pleased with Wang Yang's attitude and spoke.
"Good. Keep that attitude, and you're sure to achieve great things!"
Mordo nodded, then asked, "Tell me, what spells have you learned? That way, I can tailor my lessons to you!"
As The Ancient One's final disciple, he naturally had his own particular strengths.
He had quite a knack for teaching students.
Otherwise, The Ancient One would not have entrusted Doctor Strange to Mordo.
Now, faced with Wang Yang, he remained confident that he could teach this student well, even though he had heard how talented Wang Yang was.
Hearing that Mordo was going to teach him magic, Wang Yang perked up and quickly said, "Master Mordo, I've learned Magic Shield, the basic structure of magic runes..."
Wang Yang began listing his spells one by one. At first, Mordo paid little attention.
But as Wang Yang went on and on.
The more he heard, the less composed he felt.
His face filled with shock and astonishment.
The earlier spells were fine. They were merely ordinary basic spells.
But then even the Vishanti Holy Sword came up. That was advanced magic.
Few Masters of the Mystic Arts even knew it.
It was as though there was nothing Wang Yang did not know.
"Stop, stop, stop! How did you learn all these spells?"
"These aren't spells an apprentice should be studying. An apprentice shouldn't even be able to learn them!"
At first, Mordo had merely considered Wang Yang an ordinary genius. Now, however, he seemed to be a monster.
He had never seen an apprentice capable of learning so many spells.
As for lying, he did not think Wang Yang would lie so readily. Besides, the other Masters of the Mystic Arts had all called Wang Yang a genius, which was proof enough.
"I originally intended to teach you from the basics, but now it seems there's no need at all!"
Mordo said.
That left him a little melancholy.
After all, the best way to teach a student was naturally to start from the beginning.
Only then could he fully understand that person.
Now that Wang Yang had even learned advanced magic, it seemed he could only begin teaching him at that level.
"Since you've mastered basic magic quite well and have a solid foundation, I'll teach you an advanced spell!"
"This is a spell all our senior sorcerers at Kamar-Taj master: Crimson Bands!"
Mordo said slowly.
Wang Yang's eyes lit up.
Crimson Bands were quite powerful, but not particularly useful.
There was simply no opportunity to use them.
If the Sorcerer Supreme took action, she could resolve any problem.
As for the other sorcerers, they naturally had no need for them.
Still, although he could learn a new spell, compared with learning the Vishanti Holy Sword, this really left Wang Yang struggling to muster much enthusiasm.
"What's with that expression?"
"This spell may not be very useful, but it's still genuine advanced magic!"
"It'll be very useful to you!"
Mordo gave a wry smile, then began demonstrating it to Wang Yang.
Chanting an incantation, he pulled his hands apart, and a red chain appeared between them.
"Ding! Talent Fragment for Magic Crimson Bands detected. Fuse..."
