Taking advantage of the clear, cloudless sky, plenty of astronomy enthusiasts had aimed their big telescopes skyward. But those night owls had never expected that, besides the long-awaited stars and cosmos, the little show in the second half of the night would prove especially invigorating.
The aircraft circling overhead, the figure leaping from the tower, and the enormous black shadow writhing atop its spire were all enough to let imaginative witnesses dream up an entire drama.
So when the official findings failed to convince the public, and "full recordings of the Wayne Tower incident" filmed from multiple angles appeared online, it was hardly surprising that the explosion became a hot topic.
And that was exactly the effect Qin Wei wanted. He would let things brew a little longer, then expose the Court of Owls' deeds to the public once the citizens' curiosity had been fully aroused.
As for the spokesperson, Qin Wei had tentatively settled on Thomas Wayne. But stubborn people always liked to dig their heels in, so he still had work ahead of him.
