"Owlman already pried everything out of me, whether I should have said it or not. Now you're deliberately getting us alone-don't tell me you want to serve the Court."
"Yes."
Qin Wei's answer jolted Thomas, and his previously dull eyes instantly lit up.
"Really?"
"No."
Qin Wei knocked him right back down.
"Bruce Wayne!!! Do you find humiliating me like this amusing?"
Nothing in this world was more despair-inducing than being given hope only to be plunged back into despair. Thomas ground his back teeth together. After Owlman stripped him of all his clothes, Qin Wei had now stripped him bare again on a psychological level.
"Sorry. It seems you don't like the little joke I prepared for you."
"Who on earth would laugh at such a lousy joke!"
"All right, all right! Let's get back to business. What I want to discuss is actually pretty close to what you guessed, except we need to switch the parties around."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, would you be interested in switching sides and working for me?"
At those words, Thomas's facial muscles began to twitch. After a few brief seconds, he finally erupted into crazed laughter.
"Bruce, and here I thought you had no sense of humor!"
"Unfortunately, I'm not joking. The Court has squeezed you dry. Even if I let you go back, they'll dispose of you, so why not join me instead?"
"I'm one of the Round Table members. I represent the Court."
"Provided you're the original. Unfortunately, you're nothing but a fake."
Thomas frowned in displeasure. On the battlefield earlier, Qin Wei had accused him of being a clone. At first, he thought his opponent was trying to distract him, but now it seemed Qin Wei really did have some inside information.
"What proof do you have?"
