"What the hell is Venom Wolverine?"
Lynn frowned at the words on the blue panel.
If he remembered correctly, Wolverine was a mutant from Marvel whose entire skeleton was made of incredibly hard adamantium.
Not only did he have a pair of adamantium claws, but he also possessed an extraordinary healing factor that let him recover from injuries extremely quickly.
Venom, meanwhile, was an alien symbiote that could attach to a host, granting strength, stamina, and regenerative abilities beyond normal limits.
And this boss was Venom Wolverine...
Wolverine's strength and healing abilities, plus Venom? Wasn't that basically stacking broken powers on top of broken powers?
The bright LED lights shone on Harley's fair face. She turned her head, fixing her clear, beautiful eyes on Lynn.
Seeing his frown, Harley couldn't help asking, "What's wrong, Dinosaur War God?"
Selene gave Lynn a surprised glance, puzzled as to why Harley was calling Bruce Wayne the Dinosaur War God.
"Why are you calling him the Dinosaur War God?"
Harley waved a hand and told her the truth:
"He's not Bruce Wayne. He's just a massive pervert."
Selene froze at her words.
Huh? He's not Bruce Wayne?
Then what was all that humiliation I just suffered for?
Seeing Harley and Selene holding hands like sisters, Lynn asked in surprise:
"When did you two get so close?"
Harley patted her ample chest and said with a grin:
"Selene is now my bestie-Harley Quinn's bestie!"
Lynn shook his head, not buying any of that best-friend talk.
In his previous life, he had seen so-called best friends turn on each other over the tiniest scraps of personal gain.
"They're all fake besties. The slightest little thing is enough to make them turn on each other."
Selene's delicate brows furrowed. "Then what would you call real best friends?"
Lynn chuckled. "Only women who've had their drains unclogged by the same rod and share the same interests can be called real besties."
Selene: "..."
Harley: "..."
He really was the perverted Dinosaur War God. He certainly lived up to the name.
Night had fully fallen. Beneath the pitch-black sky, neon lights began lighting up across the city like a chain of falling dominoes.
It was as though a dragon of light, formed from countless glowing windows, had awakened within the city, spreading all the way to Gotham Harbor before finally stopping.
Dressed in a black suit and carrying an umbrella, Penguin got out of his car with a group of Penguin Gang members.
They had come for the Venom Missiles shipped over by the Lex Industries Group.
"That goddamn lunatic!"
A vicious look crossed Penguin's pale face.
Ever since someone had broken into the Iceberg Lounge and brought that disaster down on him, he had dreamed every night of a man wearing iron armor and a bear mask.
The nightmares had kept Penguin from getting a decent night's sleep for days. Whenever he couldn't sleep, he called Lex Luthor to hurry the shipment along.
Fortunately, the Venom Missiles had finally arrived.
At the thought, the corners of Penguin's mouth rose involuntarily.
Over the past few days, he had already sent people to dig up information on that lunatic.
Not only that, he had paid a fortune to bring in Deathstroke, a renowned name in the mercenary world.
After taking delivery of the Venom Missiles, Penguin would meet him here.
Imagining himself planting his foot on that lunatic's face before long, Penguin broke into a perversely excited grin.
"Heh heh heh... Just you wait. You dared to humiliate me, the King of Gotham. I'll send you flying..."
Just then, panicked screams came from deep inside the harbor.
What was going on?
Penguin paused, then looked ahead.
Beneath the dark night sky, powerful industrial lights illuminated shipping containers of various colors. Everything was deathly still.
After watching for a moment and seeing no movement, Penguin let out a relieved breath.
"Whew... Those goddamn idiots. What the hell happened?"
He continued forward with his men, ordering everyone to draw their guns just in case.
Thud!
A figure tumbled off a shipping container and slammed into the ground.
"Deathstroke?" Penguin froze when he recognized the figure.
Several gaping tears marred Deathstroke's metal armor, and half his metal mask had been ripped away, leaving him looking hideously battered.
"Get out of here!"
Spotting Penguin and his men, Deathstroke gritted his teeth and shouted. Immediately afterward, a pitch-black figure pounced on him.
Shhk! Shhk!
Claws gleaming with a cold metallic sheen plunged viciously into his abdomen. Blood spread across the ground, filling the air with its rusty tang.
Penguin's expression changed drastically, and he immediately ordered his men to fire.
"Shoot!"
The gang members pulled their triggers.
A hail of bullets hammered the black monster and Deathstroke, producing metallic clangs and the dull thuds of rounds striking flesh.
The bullets, powerful enough to tear through flesh and blood, were soon pushed back out of both men's bodies by their rapidly regenerating flesh.
"Roar... You humans still don't know your place!"
A piercing roar erupted from the black monster's mouth as he violently flicked several bullets away.
The bullets struck several gang members beside Penguin squarely in the head, ruthlessly ending their lives.
Gulp!
Penguin swallowed, his eyes fixed on the pitch-black monster towering over three meters tall ahead of him. Cold sweat covered his forehead.
Bullets did nothing to him. Even Deathstroke was pinned to the ground, getting beaten without any chance to fight back.
"Holy shit! What the fuck is that thing?"
Penguin cursed as he herded everyone in front of him to serve as a shield.
"Good thing this monster doesn't look too bright. He's only going after Deathstroke. Otherwise, I'd be screwed."
As if he had heard Penguin, Venom Wolverine let go of Deathstroke and turned around, fixing his bloodthirsty crimson eyes on Penguin and the gang members shielding him.
Penguin: "..."
Come on, man, I was just running my mouth. Don't take it personally!
Venom Wolverine bent his legs and pushed off with explosive force. Web-like cracks instantly spread across the ground.
Driven by tremendous power, he tore through the air with a piercing shriek and hurtled toward Penguin and his men.
"No! No! No! Stay the fuck away from me!"
Penguin's pale face turned even whiter. Stumbling and scrambling, he fled toward the road outside the harbor.
Agonized screams rang out behind him, making his scalp prickle.
Venom Wolverine casually flung aside a corpse, locked his bloodthirsty eyes on Penguin, and charged again.
"Holy shit! Stop chasing me!" Penguin's face was filled with panic.
The Gotham crime boss who called himself the King of Gotham no longer cared about appearances as he ran for his life.
He scrambled along on his hands and feet, stumbling in his frantic rush.
He had barely reached the concrete road when Harley Quinn burst around the street corner and kicked him to the ground.
"Get out of the way, Penguin!"
A crazed grin spread across Harley's face. With an RPG Rocket Launcher on her shoulder, she repeatedly pulled the trigger.
"You're the boss the Dinosaur War God told me about? Die!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Several missiles abruptly tore through the air, hurtling straight ahead.
A vicious, bloodthirsty gleam flashed in Venom Wolverine's eyes. With a casual swipe and a piercing shriek, he ripped the rockets into pieces.
The shattered rockets exploded behind him, showering sparks and sending chunks of rubble flying.
Harley: "..."
Was this boss really that strong?
The rocket launcher wasn't doing a thing. Had the Dinosaur War God screwed her over?
"Roar! Damn you humans!"
Facing the incoming missiles, Venom Wolverine roared and charged again, rushing straight up to Harley Quinn.
His adamantium claws ripped through the air, flashing with a razor-sharp, icy gleam as he slashed viciously at Harley Quinn.
If that strike landed, she would probably die right there.
Feeling the rush of air blasting toward her face, Harley's expression changed drastically.
"Dinosaur War God, I can't fucking hold him off!"
Clang!
A figure had appeared in front of Harley before she even noticed.
The incredibly sharp adamantium claws struck the salted fish on his shoulder, producing a clear metallic clang.
"I'm here, aren't I?"
Venom Wolverine paused, staring at the salted fish on the man's shoulder in utter confusion.
There wasn't a single tear on the salted fish, as though his adamantium claws had done nothing at all.
