It was a rainy night atop Wayne Tower.
"Tony Stark, Harley Quinn, what are you two doing?"
Batman frowned, his eagle-sharp green eyes fixed on the two newcomers.
He had already devised several plans for dealing with Iron Man, Tony Stark. He had even specifically asked Lucius to build a suit of Bat-Armor with similar capabilities.
As for Harley Quinn... frankly, Batman didn't think she would be as difficult to catch as Tony Stark.
Compared with Gotham's other criminals, Harley Quinn was still relatively inexperienced. He didn't need a special plan for her.
"Nothing much. We just want Selene to join our Bat Gang."
Lynn shrugged. The power source in the chest of his Iron Man Armor gave off a faint blue glow, illuminating the falling raindrops.
Upon hearing Lynn's words, Batman immediately objected without a second thought.
"She would never join you."
In his eyes, these two were brazen Gotham criminals. One burned, killed, robbed, and committed every conceivable crime, while the other was completely unhinged.
Catwoman, on the other hand, only stole jewelry, or perhaps a few other valuables.
How could she possibly join them?
But then-
"I'm in."
Batman: "..."
Well, everyone slipped up sometimes.
Even Batman occasionally made errors in judgment.
Seeing Batman's expression stiffen, Catwoman shot him a provocative look, her face full of smug satisfaction.
Their earlier flirtation was one thing, but that phase was over now. She thought Bruce Wayne was a complete turnoff.
Especially after seeing photos of Batman selling his ass and learning that Robin wore green briefs with his thighs exposed because Batman was a pervert.
That made him even more of a turnoff.
"All right, hold on tight. We're taking off."
Lynn held Harley Quinn in his left arm and Catwoman in his right, both women pressed against his Iron Man Armor.
He raised his head and looked at Batman, a faint smile spreading across his face.
"See ya, Bat-Faker."
Just as he was about to take off, Batman suddenly spoke in a serious tone.
"Tony Stark, do you dare agree to a fight with me?"
Oh no, Batman's about to activate his conceptual skill!
Lynn's heart tightened, then he let out a series of cold chuckles.
"A fight? Batman, do you really think you can beat me?"
"So you agree?" Batman asked with a frown.
"Of course..." Lynn arched an eyebrow. "Not!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Lynn took off with Harley and Selene in his arms, vanishing straight into the night sky.
Batman was left standing there alone, staring blankly at the gray-white moon above.
Everyone knew Batman never won an unexpected encounter and never lost a scheduled fight.
In the DC Universe, you should never challenge Batman to a fight. It would end badly.
Because no matter who you were, once you agreed to a fight with Batman, you were guaranteed to lose to him.
That was an ironclad law from a higher dimension-the mighty hand of the DC Editorial Department.
Lynn didn't know whether his system could withstand that ironclad law, but even if he could beat Batman in a scheduled fight, he wouldn't agree to one.
Why?
His system hadn't issued a mission to fight this big boss. Why should he agree to a fight with Batman?
The three of them flew through the dark sky, rising and dropping in turn, and soon reached the top of a tall building.
As soon as Catwoman Selene landed, she said to Harley:
"Let's leave it at that, Harley. I should head back. You two can do whatever you want. Don't worry about me-actually, I was just using you to keep Batman off my back. Sorry."
Catwoman Selene felt bad about deceiving Harley and Lynn.
Since their last encounter, she and Harley had become close friends. Naturally, she couldn't bear to lie to Harley.
"What about me?" Lynn asked.
"You? I've got nothing to apologize to you for," Selene snapped.
She still resented Lynn for disguising himself as Bruce Wayne last time and toying with her feelings.
"You're really leaving? Do you have something else to do?" Harley asked curiously.
At that, Selene explained her plans for the evening to Harley.
Penguin had hired her to steal the fear toxin formula from S.T.A.R. Labs.
Now that she had stolen it, she naturally had to leave and hand the formula over to Penguin.
"Is that so?"
Harley was a little dejected. She had thought that once Selene joined their Bat Gang, they could pull off a big job together.
Now it seemed her plan to become Gotham's most dazzling women alongside Selene wasn't going to work out.
"I spent a long time checking it out. There's a jewelry exhibition in the Diamond District.
"Elizabeth Taylor's pearl necklace and Marilyn Monroe's diamond earrings will both be on display there tonight."
Lynn's voice rang out.
He looked up at Catwoman, who was about to leave, and continued:
"I was wondering why you weren't stealing jewelry from places like that. Those are world-class treasures. Can Penguin offer you anything like them?
"Or... do you actually not like jewelry all that much?"
Gulp!
Catwoman quickly turned toward the man in the red-and-gold armor and involuntarily swallowed.
Although she said nothing, her eyes shone with a dazzling light.
Faced with such world-class treasures, Catwoman had to admit one thing.
She was tempted.
Gotham Art Museum.
This was the venue for the Vienna Jewelry Exhibition. Numerous members of high society were putting on refined airs as they admired the jewelry, while countless reporters photographed the world-famous treasures, hoping to be the first to get their articles out.
At that moment, inside the glittering hall, Lynn had already changed into a well-fitted suit and was strolling forward, posing as a member of high society.
Beside him, Harley Quinn had changed into a fiery red gown. Its plunging neckline was just right, revealing her delicate collarbones, while the close-fitting cut traced her full, shapely curves.
She held Lynn's arm and nestled against his
side. All Lynn had to do was lower his head to see that bottomless ravine and a striking expanse of snowy white skin.
On his other side, Selene wore a black evening gown and a pearl necklace, her eyes fixed on the glittering treasures ahead.
Their targets tonight were the largest diamond and the jewelry Elizabeth had once worn.
But just as the three were about to make their move, a series of booming explosions came from outside.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
"Oh? Is someone here to steal the jewelry, just like us?" Harley's lips curled into a crazed grin.
Lynn also turned to look outside, but saw nothing except a few uniformed police officers walking in.
Commissioner Blake, who led them in a suit, looked at the uneasy crowd in the hall and reassured them:
"Don't worry, everyone. It's only Joker, a patient at Arkham Asylum, who escaped. We police will definitely catch him and take him back."
At that, the previously panicked crowd breathed a sigh of relief.
"Oh, it's just Joker escaping from Arkham Asylum. I thought some lunatic was going to blow up Gotham with a nuke."
"Exactly. All that fuss, and it's only Joker escaping from Arkham Asylum."
"..."
Hearing the people around him, Lynn couldn't help the twitch at the corner of his mouth.
Was Joker escaping from Arkham Asylum really that commonplace to the people of Gotham?
