Shinji walked outside and gazed at the distant sandstorm, sensing the immense cursed energy filled with an aura of desolation. Clearly, Saibote had arrived. There was no mistaking it.
"What? That damned bastard actually dared to come here? Let go! I'm going to hack him to death!"
Hidan perked up the instant he heard that, howling like a husky on a leash.
"Oh, Tobi, let him go. Let him at it. Let's see how many pieces he has left this time."
Once his leash was released, Hidan, who had been howling a moment ago, immediately wilted. Looking sheepish, he said, "Aren't you coming? As long as the three of us work together, that sand monster is nothing!"
"Maybe you have a point, but it's not time for us to act yet."
Shinji had gone to considerable trouble to lure the enemy into the huge pit that was Konoha. Why would he rush to jump in himself?
He would only swing a shovel and smack the guy back down when he tried to climb out of the pit.
So they did not need to do anything now. They could simply watch the show.
"My money isn't that easy to earn, Third."
Seeing this, Hidan went back to sleep in a foul mood.
Without help, there was nothing he could do to the enemy on his own.

As for Tobi, he cared even less whether these people from Konoha lived or died.
"I'll go find a spot nearby first. Once I make my move, send Hidan over."

Tobi nodded vigorously, brimming with energy.
Elsewhere, a few kids had also come to join the commotion.
