In the hallway, the atmosphere froze solid.
A bead of cold sweat broke out on Biscuit's forehead as she plunged into a mysterious panic for a single moment.
This split-second panic caused her to miss the best chance to gloss it over:
What is going on? I clearly could have just said we bumped into each other casually-why did the atmosphere turn out like this?!
Cheadle narrowed her eyes, fists clenched, putting up a calm front.
The moment she witnessed Dio and Biscuit having a private meeting just now, her mind snapped like a strained string, and a mysterious wave of anger suddenly surged in.
It was this split-second anger that caused her questioning to slip out.
Yet the instant she blurted it out, Cheadle regretted it:
What am I doing? Why did I use that tone? I could have just asked directly-why is the atmosphere getting so awkward?!
The awkwardness quietly spreading through the air made Cheadle hesitant to even look at Dio's expression.
Yet unlike the two female hunters who had inexplicably fallen into deep thought, Dio kept his expression completely unchanged, casually raising a hand in greeting: "Yo, teacher, you're here too. Granny Biscuit was just about to spar with me."
