In terms of overall strength, Digimon progressed through the evolutionary stages of Baby, Rookie, Adult, Ultimate, and finally the Ultimate level.
Of course, that was only the general rule.
Some Digimon were anything but ordinary.
Lucemon, for instance, possessed power at the Rookie level that rivaled or even surpassed that of an ordinary Ultimate-level Digimon.
The same was true of Chirinmon. Although it was an Ultimate-stage Digimon, its power rivaled that of the Ultimate level.
Even though BioThunderbirdmon ranked among the strongest at the Ultimate stage, there was still an enormous gap between him and Chirinmon.
Besides, BioThunderbirdmon had already exhausted a considerable amount of stamina chasing Mo Si.
Facing an unfamiliar enemy far stronger than himself while in poor condition, the outcome was obvious.
Bang!
BioThunderbirdmon screamed as he plummeted from a hundred meters in the air, only to come to an abrupt stop three or four meters above the ground.
The powerful gust generated by his momentum blasted the ground, stirring up clouds of dust that rolled in every direction.
"Bastard!" BioThunderbirdmon glared furiously at Chirinmon, wishing he could tear it to pieces.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, Chirinmon vanished.
"What!? Where did it go?" BioThunderbirdmon gasped, looking from side to side.
Meanwhile, although Mo Si wore a mask that covered her eyes, her vision was unaffected.
From her angle, she could see clearly that Chirinmon had not vanished. It had simply moved so fast that it seemed to disappear.
As expected of a powerhouse on par with the Ultimate level!
"There!" BioThunderbirdmon located Chirinmon.
Although Digimon differed from real-world creatures, they were ultimately modeled after them, and most possessed the physical abilities of their real-world counterparts.
BioThunderbirdmon, for example, possessed a bird's keen vision, allowing him to locate the vanished Chirinmon in that brief moment of surprise.
However, being able to see it did not mean he could dodge it.
Chirinmon was fast. Whether turning or moving in a straight line, its speed far exceeded BioThunderbirdmon's.
Bang!
Precisely because he could see it, BioThunderbirdmon watched helplessly as Chirinmon's two hooves slammed into his body.
He could see the attack, yet had no time to resist. In that instant, fear welled up inside him.
Then he was driven into the ground, and the agonizing pain throughout his body, as though every bone had broken, cut off that fear.
All he wanted now was to escape!
Although he loved fighting, he had no desire to face anyone stronger than himself, because his goal in battle was victory.
If he could not win, he would retreat.
A real man knew when to bend and when to stand tall!
Once I recover, I'll kill every last one of you!
With that thought, he ignored his injuries, scrambled up, and prepared to fly toward the horizon.
But a backward glance out of the corner of his eye nearly scared the soul out of him.
Fuck, Chirinmon's still chasing me!
One more stomp and I'm dead!
Of course, he himself would not die. Only the Thunderbirdmon implanted inside him would. But if he lost Thunderbirdmon at a time like this, he would have no means of fighting back.
BioThunderbirdmon made a snap decision and undid his evolution, reverting to a blond thug-his original form, a human named Saint.
"A human?!" Chirinmon was startled by the sight, and its attack faltered.
It had intended to land one final blow and turn BioThunderbirdmon back into a Digi-Egg, which would also make returning him to the Digital World easier.
Never had it expected BioThunderbirdmon to turn into a human in the blink of an eye.
Chirinmon could tell by his scent that this was no disguise. He really was human.
Why could a human turn into a Digimon?
That, it did not know.
But it knew that, as a member of the Royal Knights, causing human casualties would have grave consequences. After all, humans could not turn into eggs and be reborn as Digimon could. Once they died, they were truly dead.
Now's my chance!
Seeing Chirinmon halt its attack, Saint darted his gaze toward a manhole cover ten meters away.
There!
As long as I can get there!
No one will be able to catch me!
With that thought, he broke into a sprint toward the manhole cover.
Ten meters...
Eight meters...
Five meters...
Almost there, almost there!
Just then, however, a white figure descended from the sky and stood atop the manhole cover.
Eight shimmering wings radiated a holy aura, yet her graceful curves and alluring outfit displayed the temptation of the light to its fullest. This was Angewomon-and also Mo Si.
Standing on the manhole cover, Mo Si smiled. "Sorry, this spot's already taken."
At the sight of that radiant smile, Saint felt nothing but fury. "Bitch, get out of my way!"
Before he had even finished speaking, he lunged forward with a punch.
Purple Digisoul blazed around his fist.
Bang!
Mo Si raised her left hand, spread her fingers, and caught Saint's fist.
"What!?" Saint froze.
With Thunderbirdmon implanted inside him, he was effectively a modified human. Even without transforming into a Digimon, he possessed an exceptional physique. With the additional boost from his Digisoul, how could an ordinary Digimon possibly catch his punch?
Mo Si offered no explanation. As she caught his fist, she struck Saint across the face with a backhand from her right hand.
With a sharp smack, Saint was sent flying backward and crashed to the ground ten meters away.
Mo Si darted forward and pinned Saint beneath her foot.
"You..." Saint seethed.
Although he was despicable and shameless, he had no strange fetishes. Being trampled by high heels gave him no pleasure whatsoever, only humiliation-utter humiliation!
Bitch, just you wait. One day, I'll pay you back tenfold.
Thud, thud, thud!
Mo Si added a few more stomps until Saint passed out.
Unfortunately, Saint had reverted to human form. Otherwise, knocking him unconscious would have forced the Digimon out of his body.
Chirinmon descended from the sky. "Stop. This isn't how an Angewomon should fight."
It was not particularly familiar with Angewomon, but they were both holy Digimon, and Mo Si's behavior just now clearly did not fit their usual conduct.
Mo Si looked at Chirinmon. What an imposing holy beast Digimon it was.
I don't need you teaching me how to fight.
That remark merely flashed through her mind. Mo Si did not say it aloud.
Instead, she said, "Thank you for the suggestion. I'll consider it."
"..." Chirinmon was momentarily speechless.
How polite.
Then it looked at the unconscious Saint and said, "Hand this human over to me."
"No problem." Mo Si took two steps back.
Chirinmon added, "You'll have to come with me too."
"Sure." Mo Si nodded.
For a moment, Chirinmon was taken aback. She was actually being this cooperative?
But she was Angewomon, after all. As a holy Digimon, it was only natural for her to be reasonable.
With that thought, Chirinmon picked up Saint and brought Mo Si back to the park beside Food Street, where they reunited with Marcus Damon, Thomas H. Norstein, Yoshino Fujieda, and the others.
"Another one!"
Seeing Chirinmon for the first time, Marcus Damon, Thomas H. Norstein, Yoshino Fujieda, and the others assumed it was an enemy and immediately tensed.
Marcus Damon even raised his fist, ready to strike.
"It's me," Chirinmon said.
Thomas H. Norstein exclaimed in surprise, "That voice... Kudamon?"
Agumon, Gaogamon, and Sunflowmon sniffed the air. "That's definitely Kudamon's scent."
Mo Si looked around and asked, "Where's Bio-Quetzalmon?"
"She escaped," Yoshino Fujieda said.
Hearing that, Mo Si thought that if Nanami was dissatisfied with her current power, then the next time they met, Bio-Quetzalmon might have become the Ultimate-level Bio-Lotusmon.
Worst of all, unlike in the original story, Nanami's hatred was directed at Mo Si!
And although Mo Si could receive the Myotismon Soul and the ZombieSatanmon Soul, her overall strength was still only at the Ultimate stage.
...I have to gain the ability to achieve Ultimate Evolution as soon as possible!
