Rykard had done it deliberately. He wanted to bring Godwyn and Radagon face-to-face.
Godwyn had killed Radahn with his own hands. If he met Radagon, there was a very good chance they would fight.
Even if they did not, it did not matter. At least he could disgust Radagon.
If Godwyn did not go to deliver the giant jar containing Radahn, wouldn't Rykard's little trick come to nothing?
So what if it came to nothing? He lost nothing either way.
People who took a shot whether there was anything to gain or not were especially irritating. They just would not go away.
There really was nothing left to say about Rykard's humanity.
Even his dead brother still had to be put to use.
If anyone deserved to die, Rykard certainly ranked among them.
Unfortunately, he was very good at clinging to life, nowhere near as brave as Radahn.
By this point, Rykard had already pictured several ways to escape.
He was still telling Ranni, "Now that Radahn's dead, let's leave."
"Where would we go?" Ranni asked.
"Take a ship, leave the Lands Between, and build up our strength on another continent before fighting our way back," Rykard said.
In truth, even Rykard himself did not believe those words.
Making a comeback was an incredibly, incredibly difficult thing.
Once someone left the Lands Between, the heart of the storm, returning would be harder than reaching the heavens.
Godfrey was the best example.
There were plenty of other "lands" beyond the Lands Between. The Land of Reeds and the Wilderness were just two that people mentioned.
The Wilderness was where Godfrey had gone.
The Lands Between remained relatively isolated and knew little about other places.
If Rykard and Ranni went somewhere weaker than the Lands Between, they could certainly do well for
