The mountain paths in Wyrmrest Valley were relatively even, so the snow covering them after a snowfall was relatively smooth too, without winding stretches or bumps with large changes in elevation.
That made it possible to travel quickly across Dragonspine using sleds and other forms of transport suited to snow.
Generally speaking, though, sleds were rather large, and adventurers would not bring them along, for the sake of easier exploration.
