The "Stealth Assassination Art" could make its user optically invisible, but they would still make noise.
No matter what a person did, they could never be completely silent. The wind brushing against their body, the friction between their clothes as they walked, and their constantly beating heart all made faint sounds.
That was why Li Qiuzhi tiptoed even while invisible, minimizing the chances of being discovered. Surely he would not be unlucky enough to encounter someone that powerful.
Bennett had not followed him, after all.
The group was quite far from where the voices were coming from, and Li Qiuzhi spent several dozen seconds approaching it.
He emerged from the passage, which also had small campfire stands along both sides. The walls on either side gave way to gates like iron bars, identical in appearance to the iron gate that had opened only after they defeated the Ruin Hunter.
Through the gaps between the bars, he could see nothing but empty, spacious rooms inside.
"Humans really are a bunch of idiots. One little trick sent them all running into the Domain. Heh heh."
The conversation continued. The use of the word "humans" and the strange quality of that sinister chuckle both seemed to suggest that the speaker might not be human.
And judging by those words, could there really be some conspiracy behind this Domain, just as Little Amy had casually suggested?
Li Qiuzhi did not approach the barred gates, lest his clothes brush against them and accidentally make a sound. He walked down the middle of the corridor with natural movements and light footsteps.
After a while, he spotted a large room with its iron gate open. What he saw inside surprised him slightly.
The ones talking really were not human. They were Abyss Mages!
These were intelligent monsters
