Nilou covered her lips, looking astonished.
Even Dehya was a little surprised. This was her first time seeing so many Eremitic Windworms, too. If she encountered them alone in the wild, she could only run far away.
The Eremitic Windworms hissed.
Opening their enormous mouthparts, they spat out clusters of Wind Vortexes that struck Li Qiuzhi's water shield, sending ripples across it.
They even spat out mucus, trying to trap them.
Li Qiuzhi contracted the water barrier inward, then abruptly expanded it again. As it reflected all the attacks, numerous droplets separated from the barrier.
They shot in every direction like a hail of bullets.
The worms had no time to dodge. They were instantly riddled with holes, green blood gushing out.
Immediately afterward, Li Qiuzhi watched a string of notifications pop up on his Character Panel:

With all the monsters dealt with, he had gained around a hundred and thirty thousand Experience Points:

It was a decent unexpected windfall. Looking at the two women, who still had not recovered from their surprise, Li Qiuzhi said with a smile:
"Let's go. The windblown sand will bury them."
"You really do have some skills," Dehya said with a smile.
"Phew, the desert really is dangerous."
Nilou breathed a sigh of relief, sounding somewhat moved.
After defeating these monsters they had encountered unexpectedly, they continued up the mountain. Before long, they reached the summit.
Looking back from here, they could indeed see Caravan Ribat in the distance, looking much smaller. Ahead, they could also see the vast desert. It really did fill them with a sense of boundless exhilaration.
After accompanying Nilou as she savored that feeling for a while, they continued
