The Soviet Union, a secret experimental base.
It was a relatively small base, mostly underground.
The rumors called it a secret room because the underground base was accessed through an inconspicuous but heavily guarded "room" on the surface.
Asaba Kotone brought Makima and Denji here, entering the base through the proper procedures.
A newly arrived trainee scientist, or rather an assistant to the more senior scientists, was assigned to show Asaba Kotone and the others around the underground experimental base.
"These are the dormitories. Every child has their own space. Of course, we also have double and triple rooms if needed."
The dormitories were the first place Asaba Kotone and the others toured.
The experimental base already knew Denji would be coming to undergo experiments, and the scientists had been told that the boy named Denji was highly compatible with a Devil Heart, with a far higher chance of success than the other children.
Besides, the orders had come from the military's upper ranks. The scientists only concerned themselves with research and experiments, not whether the information was reliable. In any case, the military would cover all the costs of raising another child, so naturally, they had no objections.
And so, Asaba Kotone had easily slipped in with Denji and Makima.
The dormitories could not be called luxurious, but they were far beyond the high school dormitories, or even most university dormitories, in his home country in his previous life. Every room was clean, tidy, and not the least bit cramped, with every kind of furniture they could need, even televisions and games.
The single, double, and triple rooms differed in size. The more children sharing a room, the larger it was, with three being the maximum.
The children all wore the Experimental Base's standardized clothing, with numbers on them.
