Chapters 1–25 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 1Tong Hua

After transmigrating into the Pokémon world, Tong Hua arrived at the abandoned ranch he had bought in Chicory Village and discovered a material-identifying cheat inspired by the game he had played. He began to wonder how to use it for crafting, but had no instructions or immediate way to test its full potential.

  • Tong Hua woke in a horse-drawn cart and recovered memories of the original Tong Hua, who had bought an abandoned ranch after losing his family.
  • The old village head brought Tong Hua to the rundown ranch, explained its facilities, and warned him not to use Poké Balls in the village.
  • Tong Hua inspected the cottage and drew water from the well, where a panel identified it as low-quality material and recommended processing methods.
  • Tong Hua tested the panel on a stone and a branch, then realized it displayed information about materials he gathered by hand.
  • Tong Hua recognized the cheat's crafting categories from the game Baboon Fourteen and wondered how he could use them without instructions.

Ch. 2Cooking

Tong Hua settled into the cabin with Minccino and Turtwig and learned how his cheat evaluated gathered and processed ingredients. After sharing an unimpressive bowl of tomato and egg noodles with them, he and the Pokémon finished cleaning the cabin and its surroundings, then looked forward to dinner.

  • Tong Hua cleaned the cabin, unpacked his belongings, and released Minccino and Turtwig, who helped tidy up and showed signs of needing care.
  • Tong Hua realized the two Pokémon had likely stopped training after his predecessor blamed himself for his parents’ deaths, and he resolved to give them a happy life.
  • Tong Hua cooked dried noodles with tomato, seasonings, and an egg, discovering that his cheat displayed ingredient panels after he processed ingredients himself.
  • Tong Hua’s cheat rated the tomato and egg noodles as low-quality cooking, and he shared the bland meal with Minccino and Turtwig.
  • Tong Hua and the Pokémon cleaned the cabin and cleared the path outside, then celebrated their work and prepared to eat again.

Ch. 3Fairy Tale Ranch

Tong Hua toured his ranch with the old village chief, learned about its facilities and upcoming spring planting, and began raising a Miltank for Moomoo Milk. The ranch was named Fairy Tale Ranch as the chief prepared to spread the word about it.

  • Tong Hua counted his remaining 128,000 League Coins, planned to visit the village market, and went to sleep with Minccino and Turtwig.
  • The old village chief showed Tong Hua the ranch’s pasture, damaged sheds, fields, and other surrounding areas, and Tong Hua asked to learn woodworking.
  • The old village chief agreed to speak with a carpenter for Tong Hua and explained the shipping box, spring seeds, and farming land.
  • The old village chief brought Tong Hua a Miltank and demonstrated how to milk her, producing twenty liters of Moomoo Milk.
  • Tong Hua, Minccino, and Turtwig tasted the milk, and Tong Hua named his ranch Fairy Tale Ranch.

Ch. 4Shopping

Tong Hua shopped for supplies at Chicory Village’s market and then visited Sunshine Ranch to find Pokémon that could help cultivate his new ranch. The ranch owner recognized him as the Tong family’s boy and asked about his grandfather, leaving Tong Hua to keep his grandfather’s death private.

  • The village chief advised Tong Hua on spring crops and brought him to Chicory Village’s marketplace.
  • Tong Hua bought rice, cooking oil, seasonings, meat, vegetables, and fruit, arranging for the goods to be delivered to Fairy Tale Ranch.
  • Tong Hua decided to look for Pokémon that could till his fields and found Sunshine Ranch nearby.
  • The owner of Sunshine Ranch recognized Tong Hua, asked whether his grandfather had sent him, and asked how the old man was doing.
  • Tong Hua vaguely explained that he had opened a ranch and asked the owner to show him the Pokémon available.

Ch. 5Sunshine Ranch

Tong Hua visited Sunshine Ranch to learn about ranch Pokémon and their prices, then borrowed Orthworm to till his fields and bought a Bounsweet for Fairy Tale Ranch. He left with a new ranch helper and five thousand League Coins less.

  • The old man showed Tong Hua Sunshine Ranch and explained how its Pokémon produced goods, including Farfetch'd crops, Parasect medicine, and Slowpoke tails.
  • Tong Hua asked for a field-tilling Pokémon, and the old man offered to lend him Orthworm for free because of Tong Hua's grandfather.
  • Tong Hua accepted the loan and learned the ranch's prices for Wooloo and other Pokémon, but found the breeds too expensive for his budget.
  • The old man recommended raising Grass-type Pokémon first, explaining that they needed little care and enriched fields.
  • Tong Hua bought a Bounsweet for five thousand League Coins after learning that its sweet secretion could flavor drinks and improve crops.

Ch. 6Grade D Cooking

Tong Hua returned to Fairy Tale Ranch with Orthworm, received his groceries by Pelipper delivery, and saw his Pokémon begin preparing the fields. He cooked curry rice for them, whose D-grade quality and effects appeared in the system.

  • Tong Hua borrowed Orthworm from the old man, who gave him a whistle and asked him to send his regards to Tong Hua's grandfather.
  • Pelipper delivered Tong Hua's groceries and a note explaining the village's home-delivery service, and Tong Hua tipped Pelipper with Moomoo Milk.
  • Tong Hua comforted Miltank and took her to the pasture, then considered the ranch work still ahead.
  • Orthworm tilled the field while Turtwig, Bounsweet, and Minccino helped prepare the planting beds.
  • Tong Hua cooked meat-gravy curry rice and served it to the Pokémon, and the system rated the dish D and showed its minor crafting-power and experience boosts.

Ch. 7Crafting power boost

Tong Hua discovered that a D-grade curry carried crafting and experience boosts, then tested the effects by sewing Minccino's shed fur into a stress-relieving plush. He began repairing the ranch fence while the Pokémon tended to their chores, but his first fence repair was only E-grade.

  • Tong Hua shared his D-grade curry with the Pokémon and wondered how the crafting and experience boosts worked.
  • After spotting Minccino's shed fur, Tong Hua used the sewing kit to make a D-grade Minccino plush with a minor stress-relief effect.
  • Tong Hua decided the plush might help Miltank's mood and searched for damaged sections of the pasture fence.
  • Turtwig and Bounsweet watered the vegetable beds while Orthworm rested, and Minccino washed dishes as wild birds watched Bounsweet.
  • Tong Hua repaired part of the fence with old boards and nails, producing an E-grade simple wooden fence.

Ch. 8Farming

Tong Hua studied Jessica’s farming notes, planted potatoes and cabbage with the Pokémon’s help, and struggled to water the field by hand. When he called everyone for dinner, he realized Orthworm was missing and feared it had gotten lost underground.

  • Tong Hua inspected his repaired fence, decided to visit the carpenter’s shop, and read Jessica’s detailed spring-crop notes.
  • Tong Hua chose to plant mostly potatoes and some cabbage in the half-mu field, with Turtwig, Bounsweet, and Minccino helping him sow the seeds.
  • Tong Hua watered the planted field with well water and leftover rice-rinsing water, then resolved to ask about automatic irrigation at the carpenter’s shop.
  • Tong Hua prepared milk congee hot pot for dinner and called the Pokémon back from playing and grazing.
  • Tong Hua noticed Orthworm was missing and blew his whistle in every direction, worried it had gotten lost underground.

Ch. 9Clearing the Channel and Bibarel

Tong Hua resolved the conflict after Orthworm accidentally destroyed Bibarel and the Bidoof’s nest while clearing the ranch’s irrigation channel. He helped them build a new home at the ranch, welcomed them as friends, and ended the day sharing dinner and recording his happy first days in the Pokémon world.

  • Orthworm cleared the blocked irrigation channel, flooding it and drawing an angry Bibarel and a dozen Bidoof after it.
  • Tong Hua stopped Turtwig and Minccino from fighting, apologized to Bibarel’s group, and offered them pecha berries.
  • Tong Hua invited Bibarel and the Bidoof to live by the ranch’s northern pond, where they built a new nest with help from his Pokémon.
  • Bibarel shook Tong Hua’s paw and introduced the Bidoof, welcoming a friendship between the group and Fairy Tale Ranch.
  • Tong Hua shared milk congee hot pot with the Pokémon, wrote a diary entry about the day, and went to sleep with Turtwig and Minccino.

Ch. 10The first pot of gold

Tong Hua met Palmer, captain of the Windring Town Base, and sold the Fairy Tale Ranch’s first batch of Moomoo Milk. After earning 4,800 League Coins, he watched Palmer and Machamp depart and decided to make breakfast.

  • Palmer arrived at dawn with Machamp to collect the Fairy Tale Ranch’s goods, and Tong Hua hurried to milk Miltank.
  • Palmer explained his work as a Pokémon Ranger and how Rangers earned promotions through mission contributions.
  • Tong Hua kept five liters of milk and sold the remaining thirty-two kilograms to Palmer for 4,800 League Coins.
  • Tong Hua thanked Palmer and Machamp with glasses of Moomoo Milk, and they drove away after completing the request.
  • Tong Hua chose to make breakfast instead of returning to bed.

Ch. 11Celebi

Tong Hua and his Pokémon tended the ranch’s growing crops while Ranger Chuang Yi encountered a spatial rift at Wind-Circling Forest’s waterfall. Celebi emerged from the rift with amnesia and flew toward Fairy Tale Ranch.

  • Tong Hua ate breakfast with his Pokémon, then helped them water the crops as Turtwig and Bounsweet’s efforts seemed to accelerate the seedlings’ growth.
  • Chuang Yi and Pachirisu patrolled Wind-Circling Forest and found Lotad panicking beside the waterfall as strange ripples spread across the pool.
  • A rift opened above the water, and Chuang Yi used Ariados’ String Shot to keep himself and Pachirisu from being swept away.
  • Celebi flew out of the rift and escaped into the forest while Chuang Yi caught a glimpse of her.
  • Celebi landed beside a stream, remembered her name and that she had once lived with a partner, then headed toward the place that felt safest: Fairy Tale Ranch.

Ch. 12Yang

Tong Hua returned Orthworm to Sunshine Ranch and learned about Yang’s past and his grief over Tong Hua’s grandfather. Yang asked Tong Hua to visit him from time to time, and Tong Hua agreed before heading to the Carpentry Shop.

  • Tong Hua brought Orthworm back to Sunshine Ranch after finishing the fieldwork and thanked Miltank and Bounsweet for helping care for the farm.
  • Yang told Tong Hua that he had come from Paldea, visited Alola decades earlier, and had never seen Aether Paradise.
  • Yang realized that Tong Hua’s grandfather had died and mourned the loss of his old friend.
  • Tong Hua apologized for lying to Yang the previous day, and Yang said Tong Hua reminded him of his grandfather.
  • Yang asked Tong Hua to visit the ranch occasionally so he would have someone to talk to, and Tong Hua agreed before leaving for the Carpentry Shop.

Ch. 13Chicory Woodwork Hall

Tong Hua visited Chicory Woodwork Hall to ask Xiang Shi to repair the ranch and teach him woodworking. Xiang Shi invited him to join a cattle-pen repair job so he could begin learning on site.

  • Tong Hua walked through Chicory Village toward the woodworking shop and remembered his lonely childhood.
  • Tong Hua found the shop empty, and Minccino began cleaning while he waited.
  • Xiang Shi recognized Tong Hua as Old Mr. Tong's grandson and learned he wanted woodworking lessons as well as repairs for the ranch.
  • Xiang Shi told Tong Hua that he would need to commit himself to the trade before becoming his apprentice.
  • Mr. Da arrived to ask about a cattle-pen repair, and Xiang Shi invited Tong Hua to come along and learn.
  • Mu Mu brought out the tool cart and agreed to look after Tong Hua at the job site.

Ch. 14Getting Started as a Woodcarver

Tong Hua unlocked the Woodcarver profession after equipping a hand saw, then joined Xiang Shi and Mu Mu in responding to escaped Miltank at Mr. Da’s ranch. After Mu Mu accidentally caused two Miltank to go berserk with Sweet Honey Powder, Tong Hua and Mu Mu chased them down.

  • Xiang Shi gave Tong Hua a Maple Hand Saw, and Tong Hua unlocked the Woodcarver profession and discovered his level and crafting skill.
  • Xiang Shi, Tong Hua, and Mu Mu reached Mr. Da’s ranch, where three Miltank had escaped through a smashed section of fence.
  • Tong Hua and Mu Mu split up to search for the escaped Miltank, and Tong Hua found two in a stream beside Mu Mu.
  • Mu Mu accidentally dropped concentrated Sweet Honey Powder into the stream, causing the two Miltank to go berserk and roll away in different directions.
  • Tong Hua sent Turtwig and Minccino after the Miltank, then joined Mu Mu in pursuing them as Minccino tried to calm one with Charm.

Ch. 15D-grade furniture

Tong Hua and Mu Mu returned two escaped Miltank to the ranch and learned that overcrowding had made them restless. While helping Xiang Shi repair the fence, Tong Hua revealed a natural talent for woodworking and completed a fence with an illusion effect.

  • Tong Hua and Mu Mu found two Miltank unconscious after they collided, then carried them back to the ranch with help from Turtwig and Minccino.
  • Mu Mu complained to Tong Hua about Xiang Shi and his slow progress as a woodworking apprentice.
  • Xiang Shi explained that the ranch’s cramped conditions had made the Miltank irritable and said Mr. Da had gone to Windring Town to ask the Rangers to find the last one.
  • Tong Hua, Mu Mu, and Xiang Shi began repairing the fence, and Tong Hua quickly sawed lumber into evenly sized pieces.
  • Tong Hua hammered the fence together with help from Turtwig and Minccino, creating a D-grade Maple Fence that made the enclosure seem larger.

Ch. 16Leveling up

Tong Hua leveled up after building a fence that made the Miltank ranch feel more spacious, then reflected on his new Woodcarver skill while waiting for the ranch owners. After the owner returned and paid for the repairs, Tong Hua and the others left for Fairy Tale Ranch to fix its fences and Pokémon Cottage.

  • Tong Hua showed Xiang Shi and Mu Mu the finished fence, and the Miltank calmed down when the fence’s effect made their space feel larger.
  • Xiang Shi teased Mu Mu about his woodworking, then encouraged him to practice patiently and taught him that understanding each step mattered.
  • Tong Hua inspected his class panel and saw that making the fence had raised his Woodcarver level from 3 to 5 and granted him the Processing skill.
  • The Miltank ranch’s owner returned, praised the workmanship, and learned from Xiang Shi that Mr. Da had gone to Windring Town to seek a Ranger’s help finding a missing Miltank.
  • The owner paid for the repairs, and Tong Hua, Xiang Shi, and Mu Mu headed to Fairy Tale Ranch to repair its fences and Pokémon Cottage.

Ch. 17The request

At Windring Town’s Ranger Base, Chuang Yi reported seeing a pink Pokémon emerge from a spatial rift in Wind-Circling Forest, while Hitomi accepted a mission to find a missing Miltank. At Fairy Tale Ranch, Tong Hua asked Xiang Shi to redesign the dilapidated property, determined to restore it despite his limited funds.

  • Chuang Yi returned to the Ranger Base and told Palmer that a pink Pokémon had appeared from a spatial rift in Wind-Circling Forest before he passed out.
  • Mr. Da asked the Rangers to find his missing Miltank, and Hitomi took the mission and accompanied him to the ranch.
  • Hitomi found two Miltank back at Mr. Da’s ranch, then slipped away when she sensed trouble between him and his wife.

  • Tong Hua asked Xiang Shi to redesign the ranch while explaining that he would do the construction himself to save money.

Ch. 18Building plans

Tong Hua received plans for ranch fencing, a Pokémon Cottage, and a silo, then set out to gather timber in the Wind-Circling Forest. After the Bibarel family built him a bridge, he found the fast-growing eucalyptus grove and prepared to fell trees.

  • Xiang Shi gave Tong Hua the building plans for free and offered a further discount if Tong Hua gathered the timber himself.
  • Tong Hua set out for the forest with Minccino and Turtwig, while Celebi secretly followed him.
  • Tong Hua asked the Bibarel family to build a bridge across the stream, promising them dinner, and they completed it in under half an hour.
  • Tong Hua crossed into the Wind-Circling Forest and followed Turtwig to a grove of fast-growing eucalyptus.
  • Tong Hua set down his basket and took out his axe to fell several trees.

Ch. 19Ranger Hitomi

Tong Hua gathered eucalyptus wood and fished with Turtwig and Minccino before encountering a runaway Miltank. Ranger Hitomi captured the Miltank and introduced herself as one of the Rangers who would help with Fairy Tale Ranch’s shipments.

  • Tong Hua chopped down a eucalyptus tree, learned its wood needed to dry, and planned to gather twenty logs the next day.
  • Tong Hua failed to catch fish himself, while Turtwig and Minccino filled his bucket with grass carp.
  • Tong Hua spotted Mr. Da’s missing Miltank drifting downstream and tried to stop her with Turtwig and Minccino.
  • Hitomi used her Ariados and Capture Styler to calm the Miltank and rescue Minccino from the water.
  • Tong Hua and Hitomi introduced themselves, and Hitomi explained that she and Chuang Yi would take turns helping with ranch shipments before she returned the Miltank to Mr. Da’s ranch.

Ch. 20Shiny Celebi

  • Tong Hua invited Hitomi and Pachirisu to breakfast, where Hitomi praised his bacon and eggs and asked him to teach her how to cook them.
  • Tong Hua welcomed Hitomi to visit the ranch again, while the two Celebi watched the meal hungrily from outside.

Ch. 22Gardener Beginner

Tong Hua discovered that Celebi could rapidly regrow eucalyptus trees, then unlocked the Gardener gathering class after cutting down trees. He learned the class granted skills that revealed forest gathering spots, and suspected Miner and Fisher were other gathering classes.

  • Tong Hua finished breakfast and watered the ranch crops with Turtwig and Bounsweet.
  • Tong Hua passed Bibarel's pond and admired the portraits Bibarel's family had carved of him and the ranch Pokémon.
  • Tong Hua learned that Celebi had accelerated a felled eucalyptus tree's growth overnight and could regrow forest trees, but could not speed up crops.
  • Tong Hua and the Pokémon harvested eucalyptus trees as Celebi regrew the stumps.
  • Tong Hua unlocked the Gardener class after gathering three trees and gained Environmental Detection and Voice of the Trees.
  • Tong Hua realized he needed the class's tools equipped to use its skills and concluded that Miner and Fisher might be additional gathering classes.

Ch. 23Sunny Day

Tong Hua worked with his Pokémon to gather timber, and the two Celebi used Sunny Day to dry it far faster than expected. He cooked Whirlwind Omurice for everyone, leaving his plans to test the Cook and fishing profession unlocks still ahead.

  • The two Celebi noticed Tong Hua was busy and used Sunny Day to dry the logs in less than an hour.
  • Tong Hua prepared Whirlwind Omurice while the Celebi maintained the sunny area.
  • Tong Hua shared the meal with the Pokémon, thanking the Celebi for their help.

Ch. 24A woodworking marathon
