Tong Hua caught a furious Dondozo and battled it with Turtwig and Minccino while Hayato and Chatot helped keep it under control. Two Celebi watched from hiding, and the chapter ended with Hayato asking Tong Hua for an interview as Turtwig sounded an urgent warning.

• Tong Hua recognized Dondozo and flung the enormous Pokémon onto the beach, where it attacked him with Hydro Pump.
• Tong Hua decided to battle Dondozo while two hidden Celebi watched; the pink Celebi stopped the green Celebi from intervening.
• Turtwig's Vine Whip failed to hit Dondozo, but Minccino distracted it with Tickle and Hayato ordered Chatot to use Feather Dance and Sing.
• Tong Hua had Turtwig bind Dondozo's tail while Chatot kept it asleep, and Hayato approached to photograph and interview him.
• Hayato told Tong Hua that his photo and a headline about his strength might appear in the Almia Times, and Turtwig suddenly gave an urgent warning.

Tong Hua and Turtwig fought Dondozo after its sleeping Outrage turned into a rampage, with the Celebi helping Turtwig overcome the powerful Pokémon. After Dondozo fell, Turtwig evolved into Grotle.

• Dondozo used Sleep Talk to unleash Outrage while still asleep, rampaging across Wind-Famous Beach as Tong Hua and Hayato tried to stay clear.
• Dondozo charged Tong Hua, but Turtwig pulled him out of the way with Vine Whip and was scraped in the process.
• The two Celebi used Heal Bell to calm Dondozo, but it focused on Turtwig and prepared a Hydro Pump.
• Tong Hua ordered Turtwig to blind Dondozo with Razor Leaf and attack its whiskers, while the Celebi boosted him with Helping Hand.
• Turtwig learned Energy Ball and struck Dondozo with a boosted attack, defeating it after their moves collided.
• Turtwig evolved into Grotle as Tong Hua celebrated their victory.

After helping subdue an invasive Dondozo at Wind-Famous Beach, Tong Hua was questioned by Rangers at Windring Town Base. Chief Pokémon Ranger Seven arrived and awarded him a certificate and 200,000 League Coins for his bravery.

• Grotle evolved and reunited with Tong Hua, while reporter Hayato asked to interview him and planned to visit Fairy Tale Ranch.
• Rangers from Windring Town Base took the unconscious Dondozo away and brought Tong Hua, Grotle, and Minccino in for questioning.
• Captain Palmer questioned Tong Hua about how he had caught and thrown Dondozo, then told him to wait for a Chief Pokémon Ranger and a possible reward.
• Tong Hua tried the Ranger Base cafeteria food while he waited for the chief to arrive.
• Chief Pokémon Ranger Seven arrived and presented Tong Hua with the Special Contribution Award and 200,000 League Coins.

After catching Dondozo, Tong Hua headed back toward Fairy Tale Ranch and agreed to be interviewed by Mifal Hayato. Hayato sensed Tong Hua was hiding something, but the interview ended with Hayato stepping into a muddy puddle on the way to the ranch.

• Tong Hua left with Grotle and his other Pokémon after earning money, a certificate, and reaching Fisher level ten.
• Mifal Hayato approached Tong Hua and asked to interview him about the Dondozo incident.
• Tong Hua told Hayato that Nagi, a fishing tackle shop owner in Chicory Village, had told him about the Fish King, then gave evasive answers about his strength and fishing rod.
• Tong Hua said he felt great, but Hayato noticed he seemed unusually unfazed by the incident and suspected he had hidden confidence.
• As they walked toward Fairy Tale Ranch, Hayato stepped into a puddle and splashed mud over his trousers, while Chatot mocked him.

After Bibarel brought Combee to Fairy Tale Ranch to seek help for their troubled Vespiquen, Tong Hua agreed to assist without driving the Golbat away. Meanwhile, Mifal Hayato explored the ranch and began gathering material for his promised article.

• Bounsweet and Orthworm visited the Bibarel family at the Pond after the rain.
• Bibarel returned with Combee and explained that Zubat and Golbat were repeatedly fighting Vespiquen for territory, leaving her exhausted.
• Mifal Hayato noticed Tong Hua’s six Poké Balls, then explored the ranch and photographed Miltank’s cottage while taking notes for an article.
• Tong Hua learned that Bibarel’s family was raising fish for the ranch and heard the Combee’s request for help.
• Tong Hua agreed to help the Combee but proposed letting the Golbat keep their cave and offering them a cave at Fairy Tale Ranch instead.

Tong Hua showed the Combee a cave beside the Fairy Tale Ranch’s Orchard as a possible new home, then cleaned it with his Pokémon. After Celebi persuaded Vespiquen to consider the move, Vespiquen agreed to visit the ranch and flew there with her six Combee.

• Tong Hua led the Combee, Hayato, and his Pokémon to the unused cave beside the Orchard and showed the colony its flowers, berries, and spacious interior.
• The Combee flew back to report the cave to Vespiquen, while Hayato warned Tong Hua that a territorial Vespiquen could threaten the ranch’s other Pokémon.
• Tong Hua and his Pokémon cleared and cleaned the cave as Hayato left for Harbor Town, promising publicity for the ranch in the Almia Times.
• Vespiquen hesitated to leave her cave, which Zubat and Golbat had been harassing, until Celebi arrived and urged her to move to the Fairy Tale Ranch.
• After hearing Celebi and the Combee describe Tong Hua and the ranch, Vespiquen agreed to visit, destroyed her old cave with Ancient Power, and flew toward the ranch with Celebi and her six Combee.

Tong Hua welcomed Vespiquen and her Combee family as new members of Fairy Tale Ranch after they approved the cave and beehives. The next morning, Ranger Hitomi arrived early to collect a large shipment, and Tong Hua prepared to tell her he had a lot to send.

• Tong Hua finished cleaning the cave and making beehives, then Vespiquen returned with six Combee.
• Tong Hua invited Vespiquen and her family to stay, and they accepted in exchange for sharing their honey.
• Tong Hua recorded the ranch’s growing population and planned to visit Sunshine Ranch the next day to buy Pokémon, livestock, and seeds.
• Ranger Hitomi arrived at six in the morning and explained that the Chief’s Luxray had woken the Ranger base before dawn.
• Tong Hua remembered the Chief’s Summoning Trace and sheepishly warned Hitomi that he had quite a lot of goods to ship.

Tong Hua visited Grandpa Yang to buy livestock for his ranch after reviewing his crop income and plans for expansion. He chose twenty laying hens, and the chapter left him arranging the purchase at Sunshine Ranch.

• Tong Hua calculated that crop profits alone would not get him close to his twenty-million League Coin goal and decided to prioritize raising more animals and Pokémon.
• Tong Hua visited Grandpa Yang with Orthworm and Grotle, bringing him a selection of freshly harvested crops.
• Tong Hua told Grandpa Yang that he wanted to buy chickens and ducks, and Grandpa Yang took him to the livestock building.
• Grandpa Yang explained that his White Leghorn hens laid about one egg a day and offered them to Tong Hua for one thousand League Coins each with a bag of feed per chicken.
• Tong Hua agreed to buy twenty hens.
