Background / History
Han Feng was Yao Chen’s sole direct disciple and enjoyed considerable prestige from childhood. He later betrayed Yao Chen to obtain the Flame Mantra, reconstructing an incomplete version from memory. Using it, he absorbed the Sea Heart Flame and various beast flames, but the method remained at High Xuan Tier and left him stalled at Peak Dou Emperor for a long time 34 35.
While living in the Black-Corner Region, he feared Venerable Feng and wanted enough power to return openly to the Central Plains. He regarded the Bodhi Body-Transformation Saliva as a possible route toward Dou Zun and Dou Sheng, beyond the reach of his existing enemies 34 36.
Appearance
Han Feng is presented with a scholarly, refined bearing 32 38.
- Clothing: Wears an alchemist’s robe during the secret-realm gathering 32.
- Usual expression: Maintains a gentle or refined smile even while competing for treasure 32 34.
- After the ruins battle: Emerges covered in blood and filth, with extensive wounds and none of his usual elegance remaining 38.
Personality
Han Feng’s courteous manner conceals ruthless ambition. Although he initially advocates cooperation in exploring the ruins, he uses intimidation, surprise soul attacks, and lavish pill promises to secure the most valuable treasure for himself. His reputation for cruelty is enough to deter many weaker cultivators from challenging him 32 35.
He is patient when vulnerable and calculating about survival. After escaping the ruins, he refuses to appear publicly while enemies search for him, returning only when he can reveal Dou Zong strength and a second Dou Zong ally 38 47.
His pursuit of powerful flames remains an exploitable obsession even after his breakthrough. When reports suggest that the Yao Brothers possess a Heavenly Flame, he injures Han Beng for providing uncertain information and threatens absent retainers with being refined into medicinal slaves 50.
Abilities & Skills
Incomplete Flame Mantra
Han Feng cultivates an incomplete Flame Mantra reconstructed from memory after betraying Yao Chen 35.
- Enables him to refine a wild Heavenly Flame and absorb other flames to strengthen his cultivation method 26 35.
- Remains at High Xuan Tier during the ruins expedition despite absorbing the Sea Heart Flame and collected beast flames 35.
- Provides insufficient support for prolonged, high-intensity combat at Peak Dou Emperor 35 36.
- Makes Demon Flame Valley’s Life Transformation Fire attractive as a potential means of overcoming his stagnation 35.
- Keeps him intent on collecting additional Heavenly Flames after reaching Dou Zong 50.
Sea Heart Flame
The Sea Heart Flame, fifteenth on the Heavenly Flame Ranking, is a deep-blue flame resembling flowing water 35.
- Gives him enough combat power to contend temporarily with a Dou Zong while still a Peak Dou Emperor 35.
- Forms a gigantic flaming beast to intimidate and attack approaching cultivators 35.
- Overpowers the Three Great Elders’ combined Life Transformation Fire, although it does not suppress that fire effortlessly 35.
- Forms a flowing flame shield that contains the captured Life Transformation Fire before he swallows it 36.
Flame Dou Techniques
| Technique | Application |
|---|---|
| Sea Flame Halberd | Condenses the Sea Heart Flame into a massive blue halberd or trident. Used to interrupt Mo Tianxing’s attempt to seize the saliva and to attack Demon Flame Valley’s elders 34 35. |
| Raging Sea | Expands the Sea Heart Flame into a vast ocean of fire that engulfs and crushes the elders’ flame bird 35. |
Soul Power
His soul power reaches the seventh-grade level and approaches the Mortal Realm peak before his confirmed alchemist advancement 35.
- Sweeps over rival experts in a sudden soul attack, creating an opening to seize the Bodhi Body-Transformation Saliva 35.
- Affects Dou Zongs as well as Dou Emperors 35.
- Notices a trace associated with a Heavenly Flame on the Incomplete Map, but incoming attacks prevent him from investigating 35.
Alchemy and Recruitment
Han Feng’s alchemy gives him considerable influence over the Black-Corner Region’s fighters 32 47.
- Promises Sect Breaking Pills and Emperor’s Extreme Pills to recruit temporary allies during the ruins battle 35.
- Offers fifth- and sixth-grade pills to secure help while escaping pursuit 36.
- Produces a seventh-grade Instant Qi Pill for auction after announcing his advancement 47.
- Accepts medicine requests from Dou Emperors, Dou Wangs, and Dou Lings on the condition that they join Maple City 47.
- Recognizes the distant energy fluctuations of a newly formed sixth-grade pill and judges that they exceed Elder Huo’s expected capability 48.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Secret-Realm Treasure Battle
Han Feng joins the Black-Corner Region experts entering the newly opened secret realm. After helping destroy powerful magical-beast skeletons, he identifies the Bodhi Body-Transformation Saliva and challenges Mo Tianxing for it 32 34.
He combines his Heavenly Flame, soul power, and pill-based bargaining to seize the saliva and recruit defenders. While fighting Demon Flame Valley’s elders, he also captures their Life Transformation Fire. He escapes badly wounded, consumes a Resurrection Pill, and evades Mo Tianxing outside the spatial passage 35 36 38.
Maple City’s Expansion
Following the expedition, treasure-seekers converge on Maple City, but Han Feng remains concealed. He eventually reappears as a Dou Zong with another Dou Zong at his side, then announces his seventh-grade alchemist status. A year of recruiting fighters in exchange for medicine makes Maple City the Black-Corner Region’s largest faction 47.
Jiang Yun’s Heavenly Flame Trap
Jiang Yun seeks Jia Nan Academy’s assistance against Han Feng after learning how powerful Maple City has become. Rather than attack directly, he equips the Yao Brothers to stage a Heavenly Flame incident and flee toward Demon Flame Valley 47 48 50.
The bait draws Han Feng’s attention despite his existing Heavenly Flame and improved cultivation. He rushes toward Demon Flame Valley and orders all his honored retainers to assemble there; the confrontation remains unresolved in the supplied chapters 50.
