"Then let's head over."
Di Yi nodded, while telling Chi Wuxia and the Golden Hou to be careful and not stray too far from him.
This place seemed both real and illusory, as though yin and yang had been reversed. This meant something capable of changing the greater tide existed here. Perhaps it was an inanimate object, perhaps a living being, but either way, it was extremely dangerous to them.
Hearing Di Yi's words, both woman and hou nodded. The danger here was visible to the naked eye; how could they dare act recklessly?
The next moment, the group entered the forest of towering ancient trees and headed deeper inside.
As they drew closer to the depths of the forest, more things gradually appeared on the ground: skeletons of all sizes lay everywhere, carpeting the earth. Stepping on them produced a crunching sound.
In the outside world, or even in some other abnormal realm, that sound would certainly have made their hair stand on end.
Yet here, in this forest of towering ancient trees, the sound gave them no such feeling.
It was very strange.
Di Yi looked at the bones beneath his feet. There was no telling how many years they had lain silent here. Many had already weathered and crumbled, accumulating in a thick layer on the ground.
"The bones here seem different from those in the Divine Saint White Bone Sea?" Chi Wuxia examined the bones that had crumbled from weathering. They did not seem to be the same kind as those floating at sea and lacked that sacred feeling.
Could these be the bones of creatures that once lived here, or happened to enter this place?
At that moment, such a thought arose in her mind.
"They do seem a little different," the Golden Hou agreed.
