Outside the Immortal Mausoleum, a golden avenue stretched ever farther beyond the chaos. He Mu strolled leisurely along it, surrounded by the Four Spirits and Four Symbols, with immortal light suffusing the air and the myriad Daos bowing before him.
His discussion of the Dao with Heaven Venerable Daode had yielded great gains. He could even say that his path along the Great Dao had become a little smoother.
Before meeting Heaven Venerable Daode, He Mu had already formed some conjectures about him, knowing that he likely excelled in the Daos of yin and yang and nature. What He Mu had not expected was that Heaven Venerable Daode would also be so deeply versed in the Dao of the countless living beings of the mortal world.
Through his Daode True Words, he had evolved a foundation that could sustain the world, an undertaking of lofty ambition. For He Mu, who had spent nearly a thousand years studying red dust faith, it offered insights he could apply to his own pursuits.
This unexpected delight lifted He Mu's spirits, and his steps grew more leisurely in turn.
Just as He Mu was about to leave the chaos, he seemed to sense something. He immediately drew back the foot he had been about to put forward.
When He Mu left the Immortal Mausoleum, he had not retraced his original route, so the road beneath his feet differed from the one he had taken earlier. That in itself was nothing unusual. What surprised him was that the space here possessed a strange weightiness absent from his earlier route, as though something were suppressing the void. It stirred a measure of curiosity in him.
Changing his steps, He Mu headed in another direction. He wanted to see just what was suppressing space, wielding such tremendous power even within this chaos.
Elsewhere, endless chaotic qi had formed a dense fog, all but sealing off over a million li of the void ahead and obscuring everything from sight.
As He Mu approached, the chaotic mist gradually dispersed. What appeared before his eyes was an unbroken range of black mountains.
The mountain range was imposing and majestic, its peaks towering high, as though it had stood here since the very beginning of heaven and earth. It possessed a vast Dao resonance of enduring countless tribulations and spanning heaven and earth, one that faintly harmonized with the manifestations surrounding He Mu.
Looking again at the endless peaks, each soared into the clouds and pierced the nine heavens. Standing atop them, one could almost pluck the stars and touch the moon. Taken on its own, every peak here could be called a king among mountains, an emperor among summits, its magnificent grandeur inspiring awe.
The instant He Mu saw it, he understood where he was.
Undying Mountain!
This was one of the legendary universe's three great origin divine lands, a supreme sacred land of this universe. According to ancient tales, this place could slow the passage of time, nurture an emperor's destiny, and gather opportunities for immortality.
In later ages, its fearsome reputation would spread far and wide. It would become a Life Forbidden Zone that none dared trespass upon, standing on Big Dipper Ancient Star and looking down upon the universe for millions of years.
The nine great sacred bodies had watched over this place in succession. Great Emperors such as Western Emperor, Taihuang, and Jiuli had fought here. Ruthless, Wushi, and Azure Emperor had also paused here to deter the Forbidden Zone, while Void Emperor had spent his entire life shedding untold blood and tears upon this land.
This place had once been the source of countless dark turmoils. It was also where the Enlightenment Ancient Tea Tree had first taken root, the supreme ancestral land of the Saint Spirit Lineage, and a vital stronghold of Ye Fan's Heavenly Court...
Undying Mountain bore so many stories and legends.
But today, the story of Undying Mountain had yet to begin, and He Mu had discovered it first.
With such an opportunity before him, there was naturally no reason to pass it up. He Mu would claim this origin divine mountain for himself.
As it happened, ever since attaining the Dao, He Mu had either wandered the mortal world or stayed at Wuliang Dao, never establishing a Dao sanctuary of his own. Now that he was a Heavenly Venerable, remaining at Wuliang Dao on Ziwei was rather inappropriate. Undying Mountain, however, was perfectly suited to his needs.
With a single step, He Mu entered Undying Mountain.
Before him, the black mountains stood majestic and imposing, their Dao resonance naturally formed.
Within the mountains, medicine kings could be seen almost everywhere, while divine trees and Immortal Stones were scattered throughout. Wisps of changsheng aura seeped from the mountains themselves, nourishing everything within. Even the bitter cold of the chaos could not diminish the thriving vitality of Undying Mountain.
As He Mu perceived it, there was probably no better place for self-slashed supremes to lie dormant. Little wonder that in later ages, they would occupy this place and turn it into a Forbidden Zone on Big Dipper Ancient Star, waiting for the Road to Immortality to open.
What most drew He Mu's attention, however, was an ancient tree standing quietly atop a mountain peak.
It was a gnarled old tree less than three meters tall, with luxuriant branches and leaves. As though the myriad Daos had bestowed their special favor upon it, the Dao resonance upon the tree was so dense that it seemed almost impossible to dissolve.
Most peculiar of all were its leaves. Some resembled little cauldrons, others treasured pagodas, others true dragons, and still others divine phoenixes... There were three thousand in all, each with a different form.
Each leaf also seemed to hold a condensed origin Dao law. Merely smelling them could give someone the feeling of having the blockage in their mind swept away, attaining sudden enlightenment on the spot. He Mu could already imagine the storms of blood these leaves would unleash if they reached the outside world.
This was the supreme treasure of Undying Mountain, the Immortal Divine Medicine-the Enlightenment Ancient Tea Tree!
Unlike others, He Mu knew many secrets of this world. For instance, the incomparably precious Immortal Medicines of the present universe had mostly been transformed from True Immortals or even Immortal Kings of the previous epoch.
But the Immortal Medicine before him was markedly different. The Enlightenment Tea Tree was the most unusual of all Immortal Medicines. Unlike the others, it was a true heaven and earth spirit root, ancient beyond anyone's knowledge.
As far back as the distant Emperor's Fall Era, the Enlightenment Tea Tree had already existed. When whole, it had ranked among the top three spirit roots in the Myriad Heavens and Worlds. Even Immortal Kings could gain insights by drinking its tea; its effects could truly be called heaven-defying.
Unfortunately, someone had split the tree in two. From then on, the potency of enlightenment tea leaves had plummeted, and they could hardly grant insights to Immortal Dao Experts anymore.
Later, one half of the tea tree had ended up in a foreign realm. Desolate Heavenly Emperor had taken it and planted it in the Heavenly Court. When the Heavenly Court departed for the Boundary Sea, it vanished from sight.
The other half was probably the one before him. After Heaven's Will Strike in the Chaotic Ancient Era, it had fallen entirely from the rank of Longevity Immortal Medicine, becoming the Immortal Divine Medicine it was today.
Yet regardless of how much it had endured throughout history, and even with its potency diminished, the Enlightenment Ancient Tea Tree remained an absolutely genuine Immortal Divine Medicine. It could help a truly flawless Current Heavenly Venerable live another lifetime. It was unquestionably a supreme treasure, a rarity beyond compare.
At last, He Mu had found his first Immortal Divine Medicine since attaining the Dao and claimed the Enlightenment Ancient Tea Tree for himself.
