Long ago, when He Mu fought the Armored Demon Shadow, he had already proved his strength to the world and instilled deep wariness in the many Life Forbidden Zones.
Even so, what unfolded before the many Forbidden Zones watching this place was still almost too extraordinary to believe.
The three who had attained the Dao in ages past had yet to undergo ultimate sublimation, but they had already exhausted their means, bringing their fundamental Great Daos to bear against their enemy.
Faced with such might and such slaughter, these former supreme beings knew that even they could only retreat a good three leagues, rather than meet it head-on.
No one in the world could withstand such a terrifying assault in full. In the eyes of the many Supremes, even the Heavenly Venerable Lingbao of old could not have accomplished that.
Indeed, it went beyond that. As far as the Forbidden Zone Supremes knew, no one throughout history could possibly have accomplished such a feat!
Yet under these very circumstances, He Mu, a Current Heavenly Venerable already in his twilight years, had fought one against three and driven them back with ease. Even the Three Venerables' supreme Dao bodies had been wounded by him.
This was a terrifying sign. It meant that even the many Life Forbidden Zones now truly had an enemy. They could no longer remain lofty above all, looking down upon the ages as they once had.
Across the hundreds of thousands of years before this, stretching to nearly a million, no Current Heavenly Venerable had ever confronted the Forbidden Zones with such overwhelming strength. Perhaps some had fought great battles against them, but in the end, those people had either utterly capitulated to the beings within the Forbidden Zones or stained the stars with their blood, their lives extinguished and their Daos destroyed.
Perhaps Daode, Yuanshi, and Lingbao, the Three Venerables closest to the present era, had once had a chance to accomplish this.
Sadly, they had paid far too much while resisting the Immortal Dao Turmoil. Overawing the Forbidden Zones and suppressing the ages had ultimately remained nothing more than a possibility.
But today, this Immeasurable Heaven Venerable had done it. If he truly settled this battle, even the Forbidden Zones would have to bow their heads to him from this day onward!
This would become an event that shook all ages. If He Mu remained unharmed when this battle ended, the order of the entire universe would be utterly rewritten!
The Three Venerables from the Forbidden Zones and the many Life Forbidden Zones had clearly realized this as well.
For a time, icy killing intent suffused the universe, and the atmosphere among the stars grew ever more tense.
At last, the Divine Flame Supreme broke that deathly silence.
He shouted his challenge, his Dao voice shaking the many Forbidden Zones.
"Fellow Daoists, will you still let this fiend threaten our great undertaking? You may well be the next to meet my fate! Hahahahaha!"
He burst into crazed laughter. In the next instant, a fluctuation of power at the utmost pinnacle surged from the Divine Flame Supreme. His Dao Fruit began to return, and beneath that towering power, his damaged Immortal Platform actually began to repair itself slowly.
Ultimate sublimation!
This was the greatest power every Self-Slashed Supreme could unleash. Its vast might was no different from what they had possessed when they were whole and flawless, still the Current Heavenly Venerables.
It was also every Forbidden Zone Supreme's final recourse when storming the path to immortality-the last means by which they burned their remaining lifespan to fight a mortal battle against a great enemy!
At the same time, identical fluctuations surged from the other two Venerables.
Clearly, before the overwhelming He Mu, all Three Venerables from the Forbidden Zones had chosen to truly stake their lives.
At the Cosmic Frontier, immortal light now surged, and the myriad Daos bowed their heads. Boundless innate essence was drawn from the starry heavens, aiding the Three Venerables in restoring their Dao Fruits and returning to the pinnacle of the Dao.
Throughout this process, He Mu watched coldly from the side, making no move whatsoever to stop them.
He was not remotely worried that the ultimate sublimation of the Three Venerables before him would introduce any unexpected turn. On the contrary, he anticipated the coming battle.
Within He Mu, the hot blood of battle had awakened. He would fight the Three Venerables across the heavens, testing his Dao Fruit through the most dazzling God War!
Boom-
At last, the Three Venerables' Dao Fruits were fully restored, flawless and without a single leak. Perfect, boundless auras of the pinnacle Dao erupted from them. The three supreme Heavenly Venerables of old had returned in full!
"Kill!"
The three roared. Their perfect, flawless pinnacle-Dao power became heaven-shrouding avatars spanning more than a million li. Three supreme Great Daos intertwined, forming the most brilliant and dazzling strike.
For a moment, the wails of gods and ghosts filled the Cosmic Frontier. Visions of True Immortals shedding blood manifested, and the myriad Daos trembled, unable to bear the three Supremes' desperate strike. At that instant, the universe seemed to have met its doom.
As the Three Venerables came to kill him, He Mu stood in the void, the divine radiance around him blazing just as brilliantly. His Heaven-Opening God Avatar swelled into the wind, likewise growing millions of li tall. Like a true creator god, its immortal light tore straight through eternity.
The Heaven-Opening Divine Being uttered a sharp cry, his mighty heavenly voice shaking the entire universe.
"Fight!"
Immortal light of the utmost intensity erupted. It seemed both the light of creation and the divine radiance of world destruction, emanating boundless, vast divine power, as though it held every truth of the universe and played out the birth and death of all heavens.
The immortal light shot forth and collided with the Three Venerables from the Forbidden Zones.
Boom, boom, boom-
Wave after colossal wave swept outward, bearing the supreme might of divine punishment from all heavens. Beneath such power, the heavens themselves were about to be utterly overturned.
Boundless light and heat blossomed, completely obscuring the battlefield. Amid this battle at the pinnacle of the Dao, even the beings within the Forbidden Zones could not discern what was truly happening there.
Ding-
Like the chiming of immortal music, the Wuliang Dao Wheel scattered gentle immortal light, shielding the many Life Source Lands. It resisted the aftershocks of those two colliding powers, preventing them from spreading through the domains and bringing calamity upon all living beings.
Streaks of immortal light flew from the Forbidden Zones. These were the divine senses of the many Forbidden Zone Supremes, who were also awaiting the final outcome.
At last, the radiance dispersed, revealing the state of the battle to everyone.
The Divine Flame Supreme was already at his last gasp. His supremely strong and unyielding Heavenly Venerable Dao body had cracked, and flame-like Heavenly Venerable blood spilled across the stars. A massive wound pierced his Immortal Platform, where the immortal light of Dao dissolution had begun to burn. He could no longer survive.
Elsewhere, the other two Venerables were also grievously wounded and unable to rise, their blood spilling through the stars. Though they were not on the verge of Dao dissolution like the Divine Flame Supreme, their auras had weakened. They had already fallen out of their sublimated states, and even their Quasi-Venerable cultivation was in danger of being lost.
He Mu felt somewhat disappointed at the sight. Though their previous exchange had been exhilarating, it had passed in a fleeting instant and had not allowed him to fight to his heart's content.
He Mu's face was flushed now, too, but only because he had exerted himself too fiercely in that all-out strike. Beyond that, he bore no other wounds or problems.
Clearly, the outcome of this battle had been decided beyond doubt. The Three Venerables' ultimate sublimation had failed to change the situation at all. Instead, it had only hastened their deaths.
In the next instant, the Heaven-Opening God Avatar struck with his palm, bringing the Three Venerables' lives to their final end.
For a moment, blood rained between heaven and earth-a phenomenon born of the world sensing the fall of Supremes. Yet it was utterly suppressed beneath He Mu's avatar and swiftly dispersed.
The instant the rain of blood vanished, the universe fell utterly still.
The great Life Forbidden Zones were likewise profoundly silent.
In the next instant, that silence broke. From countless Life Source Lands, cheers erupted that shook heaven and earth.
The Dark Turmoil was over.
