In the boundless starry sky, a dazzling golden celestial road cleaved through the pitch-black universe, stretching into the distance.

At the end of the Golden Light Avenue, a strange star slowly revolved in the void.

The star had no name. On closer inspection, it was a somewhat irregular celestial body; examined carefully, it actually resembled an enormous skull.

It lay across the void, the myriad Daos revolving with it. An aura of mystery upon mystery spread unceasingly, making its extraordinary nature apparent at a glance.

Upon the star, the Great Dao of heaven and earth was unusually active. Countless laws manifested openly, and Dao and principle permeated the surroundings. This place truly could be called an unsurpassed sacred land for cultivation.

Strangely, however, this star, which seemed like an immortal land for cultivation, showed no signs of life whatsoever, as though it were nothing more than a dead star.

Yet the star clearly radiated immense life source qi, as though it were nurturing something.

With sufficiently fine perception, however, it would not have been difficult to discover that this gestation seemed to have been interrupted by some force.

Even with that gestation interrupted, the Life Essence here remained astonishingly dense. It was almost impossible to imagine just what kind of existence this strange star had been nurturing before.

Beyond that, there was another strange mystery about this star.

Some force seemed to conceal this stretch of starry sky. The star before him seemed not to exist within this world, and no power below the supreme level could divine its whereabouts.

But like the vitality from before, this concealing force was incomplete, and was even slowly dissipating.

Otherwise, given the lofty level of this power that disrupted heavenly secrets, even one who had attained the Dao and reached the pinnacle of the human path could not hope to find this strange star without any clues.

In this era, this strange star remained undiscovered and unknown because its heavenly secrets were concealed.

In later ages, however, this star would bear a name that shook all the heavens.

Heavenly Soldier!

Indeed, this was the living star formed from the skull and Immortal Platform of Heavenly Venerable Lingbao, who had once awed the entire cosmos, in his attempt to shed his mortal body and become an immortal.

In the future, this place would become the training ground for Emperor Venerable's Heavenly Court, gathering the backbone of the entire Mythical Heavenly Court. Once commands rang out from here, none in the universe would dare disobey, and no one could withstand its might.

Likewise, during the Desolate Ancient Era, this place would become an important node along humanity's Starry Sky Ancient Road, where countless human prodigies would leave behind all manner of stories and legends.

During the Post-Desolate Ancient Era, Ye Fan would also temper himself here, leaving behind a legendary journey and reaping considerable rewards.

Moreover, in that same Post-Desolate Ancient Era, the Golden Crow Great Emperor would use Heavenly Venerable Lingbao's Immortal Platform Divine Liquid here to transform himself, ultimately making the final leap to become a Great Emperor of the demon race.

For now, this star had yet to experience the splendor of those later ages. It had, in fact, been born only thirty thousand years ago.

Perhaps everything would be different in this lifetime, and this star would unfold new stories and new legends.

As the Golden Light Avenue reached its end, He Mu finally saw the star that would enjoy such immense renown in later ages.

The star before him brimmed with life source qi, like water overflowing a full vessel, while immortal radiance steamed amid the clouds. He Mu closed his eyes and sensed it; the supreme aura unique to Heavenly Venerable Lingbao's Great Dao faintly seeped through.

Heavenly Venerable Array Patterns lay hidden throughout the void, forming an unparalleled grand array that enveloped the entire star. For some unknown reason, however, the array had already stopped operating, so no supreme killing intent manifested.

Still, Heavenly Venerable Lingbao's Nine Secrets: Zu was truly extraordinary. He deserved his standing as the supreme being with the greatest attainments in arrays throughout the ages. Even with the grand array halted, tremendous divine power remained concentrated in each array pattern. Once the array was reactivated, it could likely unleash a world-shaking strike at any moment.

Turning his attention away from the Lingbao Array Patterns, He Mu took a single step and arrived upon the star formed from the Heavenly Venerable's skull.

The next instant, he entered an underground world.

The underground world was hollow and incomparably vast. At its very center stood an immense elevated platform, like a continent floating in the void. It shone brilliantly, with divine flames dancing upon it and burning fiercely.

At the very center of the platform lay a gently rippling golden immortal spring, vast in divine power and brimming with immortal mysteries. It was none other than Heavenly Venerable Lingbao's Immortal Platform Divine Liquid.

And this elevated platform had actually been formed from Heavenly Venerable Lingbao's Immortal Platform Secret Realm. It could be called the true core of the entire star.

In the middle of the spring formed from that Immortal Platform Divine Liquid, a crimson Immortal Cocoon slowly bobbed in the void. It radiated unrivaled supreme fluctuations that overwhelmed all the heavens and towered over the firmament.

Presumably, this was where Heavenly Venerable Lingbao had placed his primordial spirit.

Yet for some unknown reason, there was a tiny opening in that crimson Immortal Cocoon.

At the same time, Heavenly Venerable Lingbao's primordial spirit was not inside the Immortal Cocoon. The cocoon was completely empty, save for a little heavenly venerable-grade life source essence that radiated an undying brilliance.

The Immortal Cocoon in which Heavenly Venerable Lingbao should have undergone his transformation had inexplicably broken open, and his primordial spirit had fled far away. In all likelihood, the source of all this was the chief reason his method of shedding his mortal body had failed so completely all those years ago.

The powerful life force He Mu had sensed outside the star had probably leaked out because of this mishap.

Yet judging by the Lingbao Array Patterns densely spread outside the star, Heavenly Venerable Lingbao must have left sufficient safeguards here before falling asleep to undergo his transformation.

For someone to have secretly halted the grand array under such circumstances, and even interfered with Lingbao here, was truly inconceivable.

But at that time, Heavenly Venerable Lingbao had slain the Immortal Corpse with his sword, the Forbidden Zone Supremes had all gone into hiding, and no one who had attained the Dao remained in the universe.

Just who could have accomplished such a feat?

Some suspicions were already stirring in He Mu's heart, but he stopped dwelling on the matter. After all, if he could meet Heavenly Venerable Lingbao, the truth would naturally emerge, like stones revealed when the waters receded.

He Mu then sat down cross-legged. Although the path before him, through which Heavenly Venerable Lingbao had hoped to become an immortal, had already failed, it was unquestionably the fruit of that peerless Heavenly Venerable's painstaking efforts, and held tremendous value as a reference.

If he could comprehend it fully, then even though their Daos differed, it could still greatly aid He Mu in becoming an immortal amid the mortal world.

Thus, He Mu put all other thoughts aside. With his eyes tightly closed and his hands forming a Dao Seal, he began his contemplation.
