While continuing his training, Shen Qi visited Tamamo Middle School and learned Gym Leader Hinako had gone to Hoenn, raising his suspicions about the Tulip Squad.

• Wude briefed Shen Qi on the Indigo League’s warning about Hoenn’s unstable energy and the possible return of activity from Groudon and Kyogre.
• Wude explained that Zinnia had exhausted the Draconids’ Successor power during the earlier meteorite crisis, and Shen Qi worried about how she would handle another threat.
• Shen Qi trained Mega Evolution with Golett and Lopunny, using a Skill Proficiency Card to improve their progress.

• Meng Ai called Shen Qi, met him near Celadon City, and had Venusaur restrain him before carrying him away with Charizard.
• Meng Ai told Shen Qi that Zinnia's plan had gone wrong because a second meteorite was following the first and had gone undetected.
• Meng Ai showed Shen Qi the White Jade Crystal and explained that using it to open a Spatial Rift for Rayquaza would exhaust its final use and prevent Shen Qi from returning to the Normal World Line.
• Meng Ai said Shen Qi's time-space travel ability could reduce the energy Rayquaza lost during the journey, then knelt and begged him to cooperate.

Shen Qi agreed to help Zinnia stop a meteorite from destroying the world, and Meng Ai brought him to Sky Pillar. There, as Zinnia prepared to Mega Evolve Rayquaza and Meng Ai opened a spacetime rift, Shen Qi saw that Zinnia, Meng Ai, and even Salamence were becoming transparent.

• Shen Qi agreed to go to Sky Pillar, despite the danger, after learning Zinnia had exhausted her inherited power and might risk her life.
• Meng Ai and Shen Qi flew toward Sky Pillar, where Rayquaza's deity aura stopped their approach until Meng Ai's Mega Charizard X broke through the barrier.

• Zinnia sent Shen Qi and Mega Rayquaza through a space-time passage, and Shen Qi activated the [Script Detector] after they emerged into space.
• Mega Rayquaza smashed a massive meteorite into fragments, then destroyed another meteorite with a Dragon Breath.
• Jirachi struck Rayquaza with a stone and its fists, and Rayquaza explained that it had destroyed the meteorite Jirachi was transporting to replenish the planet’s energy.
• Rayquaza argued that the meteorite could have caused a disaster, but Jirachi continued pounding it.

Shen Qi returned from space only to have Team Aqua capture Rayquaza with a Chain Ball and attack Sootopolis City alongside Team Magma. After escaping a fall from the Sky Pillar and meeting Lisia in the woods, he faced the Phantom Thief Banai and fought back against his ambush.

• Shen Qi sensed Rayquaza’s instability during their return, then watched Kaichao capture Rayquaza in a chained Master Ball containing the Green Orb.
• Kaichao and Tabitha revealed that Team Aqua and Team Magma were attacking Sootopolis City, while Shen Qi fled and fell from the Sky Pillar.

• The Eternal Flower calmed the dangerous life energy and promised to meet Florges privately later.
• Steven and Wallace confirmed the crisis had passed, and the exhausted rescuers returned to Sootopolis City while Trainers salvaged the rocket wreckage.

• Shen Qi identified the fortune-telling Pokémon as Mime Jr. and learned that he predicted a world crisis within five to ten years.
• The memories placed Mime Jr. in Galar, Alola, and eventually near Johto's Bell Tower, but offered no details about his prophecy.
