at the same time.

The white shadow was about to pounce on Lorry, attempting to possess him.

"Go to hell!"

Miles's expression was ferocious, his eyes filled with rage.

But his blade struck thin air—thanks to "Combat Hypnosis"!

Miles gritted his teeth, pulling back his blade as he hoped the phantom summoned by the second drawing would do its job.

He glanced at it out of the corner of his eye, and his expression instantly turned even more unpleasant.

The Shadow was trapped!

Lorry's shadow had somehow come to life, clinging to You Ying like a lump of mud, keeping it stuck several centimeters away and unable to move.

This is the binding ability that "Shadow Servant" possesses upon reaching Sequence 7.

The shadow opened its mouth again, letting out a piercing Shriek.

Miles's lips twitched visibly.

He discovered that even he, the summoner who was immune to attacks from the creatures in the painting, felt vaguely agitated and slightly dizzy right in the center of the Shriek.

Lorry, however, remained calm.

Now it seems that the Affliction I just felt was clearly a trap!

Miles began to hesitate:

Should I turn and run away, or stab the other person again?

At that moment, he suddenly remembered the time he uncontrollably stabbed into the air, and fearing that he would have the same experience, he changed his expression slightly and chose the former.

In a flash, Miles turned and ran away without hesitation.

Before he could take a second step, he turned back with bloodshot eyes, glaring angrily at Lorry, and lunged at him, brandishing his blade.

"Go to hell! Go to hell! Go to hell!"

He swung his knife fiercely, but unfortunately, he only attacked the Illusions created by "Mental Interference".

The real Lorry twisted his body forcefully and threw a punch.

"Bang!"

His fist slammed solidly into Miles's forehead.

The next second.

Miles fell straight down.

The giant Flames and the White Wraith lost their footing and quickly dissipated into the air.

Lorry saw three sheets of paper float down from the sky, depicting a three-headed Flames, a white shadow, and a rack full of weapons.

He frowned slightly, feeling an indescribable disgust, and without hesitation picked them up and tore them to shreds, letting the fragments drift away in the wind.

After doing all this, Lorry's brows finally relaxed slightly.

He looked down at Miles, who was lying on the ground, unable to resist, and saw that the other man had a pleading expression on his face and his mouth was opening and closing repeatedly.

After a moment, Lorry said to himself:

You seem to be trying to stall for time?

"The Potion has given me exceptional observational skills. Although you've hidden it well, I can still see hostility in your eyes."

Let me guess, what are you waiting for?

"Could it be... that you're hoping your subordinates can create massive death and chaos as a blessing from the Evil God you worship?"

He paused slightly, a pleased smile playing on his lips:

"Sorry, I was so focused on fighting that I forgot to tell you something."

"The people at MI9 already knew everything a few days ago, and by the time I found you, the chaos created by your followers had almost subsided."

"So...

You will not receive any more blessings.

"As for why they know... hehe, that's what I'm saying."

"Oh, right, there's one more thing I haven't told you. No matter who you are or how you controlled Miles, you will be Purification soon."

"And the real Miles will return."

"I'll find a way to get him out of Backlund then."

As soon as he finished speaking, Miles ' expression changed abruptly. He stopped pleading and stared at Lorry with a cold gaze, as if he wanted to devour him alive.

He scoffed dismissively.

"You can't do it, because I am Miles."

"And do you really think I have no ability to resist at all? Yes, I certainly don't, but..."

"When I received the gifts, I gained some knowledge, and for you Believer in false gods, knowing some things is Catastrophe."

As he spoke, Miles ' smile suddenly turned sinister, and he shouted loudly:

"Want to know which great being I worship? He is... the Lord of Dimensions, the eye that looks down upon the mortal world, the source of all illusions, the Creator of the Painting World!"

Time passed quietly, and nothing happened.

The excitement in his eyes gradually faded, and he said in disbelief:

No, that's impossible!

"How could you be completely unharmed?!"

Lorry smiled strangely.

"I don't know what you're talking about, but you seem disappointed?"

"Oh right, I just remembered something. I was so focused on fighting that I forgot to tell you that I'm deaf now."

"A truly deaf person..."

Upon seeing the white shadow about to launch its Shriek attack, he used "Self" to transform himself into a deaf "Swindler"!

The new personality possesses everything that Lorry had.

The only thing he lost was his hearing.

That's why he didn't respond at all just now.

Because he can't hear.

As soon as he finished speaking, Miles trembled all over. After shaking for nearly half a minute, his eyes rolled back, revealing a timid look.

He stretched his arm upwards with difficulty, his expression a wry smile as he pursed his lips.

"Raven..."

"What, you're planning to part-time as a ' Swindler ' instead of a ' Painter '?" Lorry was slightly taken aback, then chuckled and teased.

Then he saw Miles laboriously turn over and try to write on the ground.

Lorry's gaze flickered slightly as he took out the "Sure-Hit Revolver".

He kept his eyes fixed on the ground, ready to fire immediately if he sensed anything amiss.

Lines of writing quickly appeared on the damp soil:

"I have committed sins and am not worthy of salvation."

"There's no way to save him," he said. "He's right, he is me, and I am him. We've completely merged into one."

"I'm sorry, Raven, I can't beat him, so I can only cower in the corner and watch helplessly as he takes control of my body and does wrong."

"He was almost driven mad by you just now, and now that he's hiding, I finally have a chance to control my body and come out to talk to you."

"Thanks for helping me get revenge, Raven. I'll still call you Raven."

I've had a wonderful time knowing you, it's a pity we won't be able to meet again.

"Also, we have three months left on our lease. Today is the 16th, and it's time to pay the rent. Remember to pay my share so as not to cause trouble for the landlord. It's very difficult to find tenants at the last minute. I waited for more than a month before you came along, and he couldn't even find someone to compensate me."

"Oh, right, I just remembered something too."

At this point, Miles laboriously turned his head, gave Lorry a smile, and continued writing with his finger while lying back down on the ground:

"Watch out for Altair!"

"He seems to have ulterior motives, but I don't know much about it. I only discovered by chance that he had other accomplices when another version of myself met with him."

He paused, then wrote down three more lines of words:

"... Kill me, and I feel another version of myself is about to emerge."

"He's a Lunatic, trying to drag you, me, and Backlund down with him. He's planning to Sacrifice himself to gain that person's attention!"

"Quickly, kill me!"

Lorry took a deep breath and suddenly understood how the Lieutenant Colonel had felt back then.
