"Boss!"

Vera suppressed her surprise and greeted them with a light laugh.

"Hmm." The Deputy Director nodded slightly.

"Let's go inside and talk."

The two entered the office and went to the Sofa area.

The Deputy Director, whose face exuded authority and who rarely smiled, gently raised his hand, indicating that Vera didn't need to pour tea, Door Opening about his purpose:

Have you left this place today?

Vera's heart skipped a beat, and she shook her head, saying:

"No.

"Guarding the Sealed Artifact is a serious matter; how could I possibly leave without permission?"

He paused briefly and asked:

"Has something happened?"

The Deputy Director raised his signature brown eyes, devoid of emotion, and stared straight at his subordinate opposite him, nodding expressionlessly.

He stared into Vera's eyes and said in a deep voice:

"Jon has betrayed us."

He killed two "Interrogator" and is currently at large; his whereabouts are unknown. If you know where he is hiding, I hope you will tell me.

Vera jumped to her feet and repeated incredulously:

"Jon... betrayed us and killed his colleagues?!"

"How is this possible?!"

The Deputy Director frowned slightly, a cold glint flashing in his eyes, and shook his head, saying:

Nothing is impossible.

"More than one person witnessed this; how can we possibly wrong him?"

Vera finally understood why her boss had come so suddenly, and couldn't help but give a wry smile, "But I really don't know where he is. Shouldn't you ask Xili?"

The Deputy Director stood up and said quietly:

"Jon has been your Informant all along, and only recently officially joined us. Compared to you, he is far less trusting and understanding of you."

Since you don't know, then forget it.

"But..."

Then, he changed the subject:

"If Jon contacts you secretly, you absolutely must not meet with him privately. This person is suspected of converting to Evil God, which is extremely dangerous, understand?"

Vera took a deep breath and nodded:

"Clear.

"If I find any trace of him, I will return and report it as soon as possible."

"Hmm." The Deputy Director nodded slightly, a hint of satisfaction flashing in his eyes. "I still admire you quite a bit, and I believe you can keep your word."

He glanced at the Pocket Watch on the desk, and a slight smile appeared on his lips.

"Are you in a hurry to wait for someone to hand over the work?"

"You can go now. I'll cover for you for the remaining few minutes."

"Uh, no need..." Vera didn't finish her sentence before she saw the Deputy Director wave his hand impatiently, so she didn't say anything more, bowed and left.

He went up the stairs and soon arrived at the three-story building on the ground floor.

By this time, it was completely dark, and most of the Crimson Moon was hidden behind the clouds, emitting a faint light.

A few colleagues were chatting idly together a short distance down the corridor.

Vera walked straight to the door without looking to either side, quietly pricking up her ears.

Half a minute later, he walked out of the gate of MI9, his face instantly turning gloomy, and he let out a long sigh full of disappointment.

Everyone's saying, has Jon really betrayed us?

Vera's eyes flickered, and she sighed inwardly, deciding to come to work early tomorrow to ask her familiar colleagues for information.

He wasn't very popular.

But having stayed there for quite a few years, I had a decent relationship with a few of them.

As for now... Vera slowly felt the cool night air, temporarily putting this unpleasant matter behind her, and hailed a Hired Carriage.

He knocked on the window and whispered:

"Kingdom Theatre"

One hour later.

North Borough, Saint Samuel Cathedral.

Beyoncé, wearing an orange dress underneath a long black trench coat, glanced at the Evernight Badge in the distance and gave a soft, smiling hum.

"Not bad, Police Officer. After all those fancy meals and shopping trips, you've finally taken me to do something else."

"I'm going to pray to Goddess today. I've been eating all sorts of delicious food lately without restraint, and I feel like I've gained weight."

As she spoke, she glanced at Vera beside her with a hint of resentment, until the other scratched her head in bewilderment, before revealing a playful and sweet smile.

"By the grace of Goddess," Beyoncé sighed helplessly, "Police Officer, when are you going to stop being so boring...?"

"I was just kidding, you know? I'm not really blaming you."

"Let's go." She shrugged and said as she walked inside, "I need to confess to the Goddess that I won't tease you like that again."

"Actually, it's okay." Vera gazed at the slender figure ahead, pursed her lips tightly, and wanted to answer like that.

But he didn't get a chance to say it, and regret welled up on his face.

Next time, definitely next time!

With that thought in mind, Vera hurriedly caught up with him amidst the helpless urging of "Hurry up!"

It wasn't dinner time yet, but there were already quite a few Believer.

Vera let Beyoncé move nimbly through the crowd, finding a quiet corner where they sat down and began to pray.

About twenty minutes later.

Beyoncé opened her deep, clear eyes and asked the man beside her in a low voice:

"Police Officer, what's the plan next? Don't tell me it's another fancy meal; I just confessed to my Goddess."

"Don't worry, it's not a big meal." Vera felt her heart pounding in her chest, and she could barely speak.

He took a deep breath and looked at Bishop Elektra at the front, seeing the other's smiling face and encouraging eyes.

I'll take the plunge. The worst that can happen is rejection... Vera gritted her teeth, quickly stood up from her seat, took out a ring from her pocket, and knelt down.

"Beyoncé, um, I..."

A loud voice suddenly rang out from the quiet Church, and the Believer turned their heads in unison, their gazes meeting on the two people as if they had materialized.

"I, I..."

Vera was horrified to discover that she, who used to deal with evil Beyonder as easily as eating and drinking, was now so tense that she could hardly breathe.

How embarrassing... Bishop Elektra chuckled and cursed inwardly.

He knew the boy's adoptive father and had even baptized the boy years ago. Seeing this scene, he couldn't help but feel disappointed and disappointed in him.

"What a useless fellow, he can't even speak properly..." Bishop Elektra thought to herself, and decided to go and help this good-for-nothing.

However, just as he was about to lift his foot, he saw the young woman blush, nod slightly, take the ring, and put it on her finger, her voice barely audible.

"I do."

Suddenly, thunderous applause and cheers erupted in the Church.

Everyone refrained from disturbing the Goddess and quickly quieted down, watching the two flee the Church with teasing and blessing glances.

The restless man and woman wandered aimlessly with their heads down, and soon arrived at a flower bed.

Vera looked at Beyoncé, who had been silent since leaving the Church, and cautiously asked, "You... you're not angry, are you?"
