Heath quietly watched the scene before him. As long as he could record evidence of the Adams family's crimes, even if Adams was a wealthy man in Viridian City, he could forget about getting away unscathed.
To keep Zorua from getting too excited or angry and ruining things, Heath specifically reminded Zorua to stay quiet and not speak, so they would not be discovered.
Adams's son walked in. Heath did not remember his name. After all, the Adams family seemed rather mysterious. Most of the time, only Adams himself made appearances, while his son rarely appeared in public.
What made Heath frown, however, was that Adams was actually holding a leather whip, the kind used for punishment. Just looking at the fine markings on the whip, Heath could imagine what sort of torment Charmander would suffer.
"That's so cruel! How could he treat Charmander like that!" Zorua said through gritted teeth from atop Heath's head. Heath could not help reaching up to soothe her.
If he did not soothe her soon, Heath suspected Zorua would yank out quite a bit of his hair. At that point, Heath might become stronger and take down an Arceus with each punch.
"Charmander, you're really good at hiding, aren't you? You actually managed to hide for so long!" Young Adams grinned wickedly, cracking his whip hard against the floor with a sharp snap.
"..." Charmander kept its head lowered, ignoring young Adams standing before it and showing no reaction.
Heath sighed. To record evidence of the crime, he could only watch Charmander suffer for now. Heath decided he would step in and rescue Charmander once he had enough.
