"You can eat them even when it's not your birthday, right?" Cynthia blinked. Heath paused, then nodded. There was nothing wrong with that. After all, although longevity noodles were essentially a special kind of noodle eaten on birthdays, strictly speaking, you could eat them when it wasn't your birthday, too. Apart from their unique requirements for the noodles themselves, their flavor actually depended only on how they were prepared. If they were made as Da Su Beef Noodles, they would be longevity noodles with the flavor of Da Su Beef Noodles. If they were made as yangchun noodles, they would be longevity noodles with the flavor of yangchun noodles.
So, essentially, the only difference with longevity noodles was the length of the noodles.
"All right, I'll make you a serving." Heath eventually agreed. However, making longevity noodles required him to roll the noodles out by hand, so he had to go into the kitchen and get out flour and the other ingredients to make these distinctive noodles himself. It was only when he started that Heath discovered making one very long noodle really wasn't all that easy. Even a cook like him failed several times before he finally managed to make the noodle for the longevity noodles.
Once the noodle was ready, the next step was much easier. Heath only needed to prepare this distinctive serving of longevity noodles the way he made beef noodles, then serve it to Cynthia. There were no other particular rules or points that required attention, making it a relatively simple breakfast to prepare. At the same time, Heath began making breakfast for his Pokémon. This time, with noodles in mind, he planned to make yangchun noodles.
"Cynthia, when you eat longevity noodles, it's best not to break them with any bite," Heath reminded her.
