Cynthia was beside him too, resting her chin in her hand as she watched them curiously. She seemed very curious about why a man was giving her boyfriend such a mournful look. Cynthia had seen that look before. Some supporting female characters in long, melodramatic TV dramas looked that way at the male leads whose love they could never win. Still, Cynthia did not think her boyfriend was gay. After all, Heath was not particularly interested in working out.
There was a saying in the Pokémon world's fitness circles: the end of the fitness journey was being gay. Although not every man who worked out really ended up gay, there was no denying that a small portion of that group did. Of course, it was also possible that some men who were already gay had taken up fitness to look for quality prospects. All one could say was that after a few cases, many people had linked fitness with being gay. No one knew quite how they had connected those things, but people had made that connection all the same.
It was like how, whenever many people mentioned people from the Alola Region, they thought Alolans were all very uninhibited and liked going for a swim after meals every day or something. In reality, ordinary Alolans were no different from anyone else. Their skin color was simply a little distinctive because of where they lived. But that was how people's stereotypes worked, and there was no changing them.
Of course, some people had not originally been gay but had simply been forced to become gay.
