Background / History

Wei Min joined Liang Xing Laboratory as one of the assistants selected through Huaxia. She initially handled practical duties such as preparing meals, but remained determined to participate in biological cultivation research rather than being limited to support work. Liang Xing subsequently gave her individual instruction in preparing Cultivation Fluid. 93 94

She became involved in the laboratory's earliest Pokémon-breeding work, reporting the appearance of purple-haired and yellow-skinned experimental subjects and researching the biological factors in Rattata and Pichu cultivation fluids. Her parents, both biological-cultivation specialists, assisted by studying samples she brought home during the Spring Festival. 108 113 126 127

After Liang Xing created the Quantum Microscope, Wei Min was among the first to observe that the Rattata and Pichu biological factors were distinct. She later participated in the research that established the terminology “Pokémon Factor.” 133 198

Appearance

Wei Min is described as an eighteen-year-old girl with a doll-like appearance. She frequently wears protective clothing while working in breeding areas and laboratories. 211

  • Often carries out sampling, cultivation, and observation work in a protective suit. 128
  • Usually works alongside her two Pikachu, which she regards as both companions and practical protection while teaching students. 211
  • Becomes visibly shy around Liang Xing after their relationship is confirmed. 468 470

Personality

Wei Min is lively, curious, and highly proactive. She repeatedly seeks out Liang Xing’s ongoing projects, from Pokémon Factors and Artifact Pasture to space exploration, and is willing to volunteer for unfamiliar work if it lets her learn more. 125 333 440

Her enthusiasm can become impatience. While researching Pichu evolution and preparing the Anticoagulant Drug, she focused excessively on rapid results and worked herself to exhaustion; Liang Xing repeatedly reminded her that cultivation requires patience and that research cannot come at the expense of her health. 202 281 287

As an instructor, she is strict but fair. She organizes medical checks after student accidents, deducts points for unsafe behavior, discourages gloating, and allows students to pursue promising ideas when she believes they have genuine research value. 279 296

Abilities & Skills

Biological Cultivation and Pokémon-Factor Research

Wei Min specializes in the cultivation and study of Pokémon and Tree Berry experimental subjects.

  • Learned Cultivation Fluid preparation directly from Liang Xing. 94
  • Collected Rattata and Pichu samples and recognized the importance of their unknown biological factors. 127 128
  • Used the Quantum Microscope to distinguish the differing factors in Rattata and Pichu breeding fluids. 133
  • Investigated Bug Silk’s anticoagulant properties and made it the foundation of her class’s first major project. 279
  • Helped advance the Anticoagulant Drug to clinical trials at Baisha City First Hospital. 281

Teaching and Student Management

Wei Min leads a class at Liang Xing Laboratory and supervises students through practical Pokémon-related research.

  • Uses strict credit and point deductions to enforce safety and research standards. 296 351
  • Oversees student work involving Pokémon cultivation, Tree Berries, and Pokémon Encyclopedia production. 296 351
  • Responds directly to student accidents, including Pokémon attacks and poisoning incidents. 296 366
  • Her class was responsible for caring for Clefairy’s Pokémon Egg after its successful nurturing. 469

Rapid Learning and Crafting

Wei Min possesses exceptional learning ability, especially in fields that interest her.

  • Quickly mastered Poké Ball production after Liang Xing demonstrated the process. 324
  • Was entrusted to teach others how to make Poké Balls. 324
  • Her learning speed and efficiency surpassed the Tree Berry specialists in work she personally pursued. 437

Living Artifact Cultivation

Wei Min became increasingly involved with Artifact Pasture and the cultivation of Living Artifacts.

  • Delivered food, raw materials, and experimental-subject remains to Liang Xing’s underground Artifact Pasture laboratory. 333
  • Harvested Artifact Pasture under Liang Xing’s direction, inadvertently helping activate the first Animated Scythe. 333
  • Recorded the growth of Animated Cartoon Balloons and other pasture-born lifeforms. 336
  • Was placed in charge of cultivating new Living Artifacts, including Grimer. 460

Companions

  • Two Pikachu — Wei Min adopted Pichu experimental subjects; two successfully evolved into Pikachu. She trains with them and uses them as companions while teaching. 211
  • IvysaurLiang Xing temporarily left Ivysaur with Wei Min to help manage the Artificial Artifact Ranch and move large Living Artifacts. 469

Relationships

  • Liang Xing — Her mentor, research partner, and later boyfriend. He personally taught her Cultivation Fluid preparation and Poké Ball creation, entrusted her with major research duties, and formally confessed to her after they nurtured Clefairy’s Pokémon Egg together. 94 324 467 468
  • Wei Min’s parents — Both are experts in biological cultivation. They researched the unusual factors in Rattata and Pichu breeding fluids after Wei Min brought the subject to their attention. 113 126 127
  • Xu Feng — Fellow biological-cultivation researcher. They jointly pursued Pichu evolution research, shared laboratory resources, and covered classes for one another when necessary. 202 318 442
  • Li Xian — Research colleague who collaborated with her on Weedle and Bug Silk matters; he also tried to reduce her workload during the Anticoagulant Drug project. 287 288
  • Qi Tian — Student and class monitor of Wei Min’s class. He organized classmates for Weedle cultivation work and helped coordinate the Anticoagulant Drug’s final testing and transport. 281 288
  • Ning Jing — One of Wei Min’s valued students, noted for strong theoretical and practical performance. 366
  • Zuo Siqi — Fellow assistant who helped contain the Deformed Lifeform that attacked Wei Min in her room. 206

Story Role / Major Arcs

Early Laboratory Research

Wei Min transitioned from a newly selected assistant into a biological-cultivation specialist. Her interest in Pokémon Factors, combined with her parents’ outside research, contributed to the laboratory’s early understanding of Pokémon-related genetics and the need for advanced observation equipment. 94 127 133

Pokémon Breeding and Safety Incidents

Wei Min helped oversee Pichu experimental subjects and supported their adoption. One Pichu she adopted later underwent a failed evolution into a Deformed Lifeform and attacked her while she slept; Zuo Siqi and Meramon contained it before Liang Xing ordered its execution. 203 206

Anticoagulant Drug Project

After recognizing the medical potential of Bug Silk, Wei Min directed her class toward developing an anticoagulant drug. The project advanced rapidly into clinical trials, though her tendency to overwork led Liang Xing and Li Xian to intervene for her health. 279 281 287

Instructor and Artifact Supervisor

As the laboratory expanded into a school-like institution, Wei Min became responsible for student discipline, practical coursework, and Pokémon research. She later took on supervision of the Artificial Artifact Ranch and the cultivation of new Living Artifacts. 296 351 460

Relationship with Liang Xing

Wei Min assisted Liang Xing in nurturing the first Clefairy Pokémon Egg cultivated through a new method. Her intense focus caused her to faint from hunger, after which Liang Xing cooked for her and later confessed his feelings. They officially became a couple. 467 468
