"We can take our time analyzing the other routes once we find some clues."
"But you can't go wrong being wary of every Blue Apron Chef outside Meal Windows No. 1 through No. 9."
Hearing this, Lin Yi nodded solemnly. "Got it. When in doubt, ignore it."
"If you can't ignore it, kill it," Wei Shan added in a low voice.
Kuai Hongji gave a sinister smile, but folded his arms across his chest and, for once, did not argue with Wei Shan.
Wei Liang followed them silently with his hands over his ears. He said nothing along the way and pulled no stunts, as well-behaved and inconspicuous as a Chihuahua hitching a ride.
As they left the Student Passage, Lin Yi glanced down at the time.
7:20.
"Everything's normal."
He soon passed the spot where the Blue Apron Chef stood.
Although the chef was not in his field of vision, he still distinctly felt as though they had "brushed shoulders"-that icy sensation of a stare prickling against his back.
As they passed one by one, the Blue Apron Chef kept his feet facing the Student Passage, just as before, but his upper body began slowly twisting around like a marionette's.
He watched Lin Yi, Tian Bufan, and the others pass in front of him, one after another.
Suddenly, as Kuai Hongji brushed past him, golden sparks flared in his perpetually hollow eyes.
Then a pale, scrawny hand emerged from his white chef's coat and shot toward Kuai Hongji like lightning.
A cold glint instantly flashed through Kuai Hongji's eyes, but Wei Shan suddenly grabbed his arm and yanked him out of the Blue Apron Chef's reach.
"What, you sneaky bastard, haven't you eaten? Why are you walking so slowly?" Wei Shan sneered.
Kuai Hongji shook off Wei Shan's hand.
