In a daze, Lin Yi seemed to feel cold, sinister breaths rushing past his arm. The chill in those breaths made his hair stand on end and his soul tremble.
Some strange plants also seemed to grow around the pile of corpses. Their roots sank deep into the bodies, drawing nutrients from them. Their leaves were a sickly purple and gave off a faint glow, like some profoundly evil flowers, or eerie crops growing straight out of the corpse pile.
The other end of that writhing body seemed to stretch all the way to the edge of the deep abyss in the depths of the Convenience Store, finally disappearing into the fog until neither the naked eye nor Perception could detect it.
Lin Yi watched the enormous corpse pile expand and contract as though breathing. As flesh rubbed and collided, it sent the viscous fluid quivering in the air like thick snot. Spine-chilling whispers drifted from the corpse pile into Lin Yi's ears, only this time, the call came in another set of obscure syllables...
