After entrusting Zhou Quan to Kwan Man Chin, Kong Chi Lap turned and headed back to his office.

As the commander of B Company in the Mobile Unit, Kong Chi Lap was responsible for the whole West Kowloon District.

It was already no small feat that he could spare the time to personally accompany Zhou Quan from place to place.

Now that Zhou Quan had arrived at the Second Squad, where he would soon take up his post, there was naturally no need for Kong Chi Lap to keep handling everything himself.

Zhou Quan and Kwan Man Chin watched their Big Sir walk away. Then, chatting and laughing, they entered the Second Squad's offices together.

"Come with me, Ah Quan. I'll introduce you to the members of our squad."

Walking alongside Zhou Quan, Kwan Man Chin spoke warmly.

"Thank you, Sergeant Guan!"

Zhou Quan smiled and nodded.

"Hey, we're all brothers under Sergeant Kwong. There's no need to be so formal."

Kwan Man Chin pretended to pout in displeasure.

With a friendly laugh, he continued, "If you don't mind, just call me an old friend."

Having only just arrived, Zhou Quan was naturally eager to get to know his colleagues, so he readily called him Brother Zhan.

By convention, calling Kwan Man Chin "Brother Zhan" was clearly more familiar than calling him "Brother Kwan."

Since Kwan Man Chin wanted to befriend Zhou Quan, he should have simply gone along with it.

"Ah Quan, just call me Brother Kwan!"

But Kwan Man Chin chuckled and suggested that Zhou Quan use a different form of address.

"Why..."

Zhou Quan furrowed his brow slightly and asked, a little confused.

"You'll find out in a bit."

Kwan Man Chin smiled helplessly, keeping him in suspense.

It took only a few minutes for Zhou Quan to understand why Kwan Man Chin was a little helpless.

By then, the two of them had entered the Second Squad's office.

"Good afternoon, sir!"

Seeing the two White Shirts arrive, several officers on duty stood up in unison.

"Let me introduce you all. This is Sergeant Zhou, who's just joined our Second Squad."

Kwan Man Chin clapped his hands and introduced Zhou Quan to the officers present.

"Sergeant Zhou!"

Meeting an unfamiliar superior for the first time, all the officers saluted with due formality.

"Ah Quan, these are some of the brothers and sisters who hold down the fort."

At the same time, Kwan Man Chin turned his attention to a male and a female officer.

He made a point of introducing the two.

"WPC26316, Sergeant Shao Meiqi."

"PC7366, Sergeant He Wenzhan."

Hearing the names of the two sergeants, a flicker of surprise passed through Zhou Quan's eyes.

The female sergeant was nothing unusual, though her green uniform and Blue Beret gave her a dashing appearance.

But Zhou Quan wasn't the sort to lose his head whenever he saw a woman, so he didn't pay her much attention.

The male sergeant, however, was different. He was also called Wenzhan.

No wonder Kwan Man Chin had seemed a little helpless when Zhou Quan had just called him Brother Zhan.

There were two people with the same name in one squad. That was quite amusing.

Noticing Zhou Quan's puzzled look, Kwan Man Chin shrugged, his smile growing even more helpless.

"Sergeant He, Sergeant Zhou will be joining your First Group for the time being."

After using his eyes and gestures to explain what had just happened to Zhou Quan, Kwan Man Chin called He Wenzhan over.

His expression serious, he assigned him the task: "You'll help Sergeant Zhou get familiar with West Kowloon District as quickly as possible."

Zhou Quan had entered the Police Force at inspector rank and had won every honor at the Police Academy.

On top of that, Kong Chi Lap had just treated him so warmly. Kwan Man Chin knew very well that Zhou Quan was only here to gain experience with the Mobile Unit for a while.

Once his training was complete, he might be transferred to some important department.

So Kwan Man Chin knew his job was to help Zhou Quan fit into the Police Force as quickly as possible and learn the ins and outs of the Police District.

As commander of the Second Squad, he had to handle overall coordination and had no time to personally take Zhou Quan on patrol.

So he introduced Zhou Quan to his most capable subordinate, who could help him.

Though He Wenzhan's rank wasn't high, he was definitely one of B Company's most experienced officers.

Across the West Kowloon District, there wasn't a gang, a triad, or a person from any walk of life whom he didn't know.

With him showing Zhou Quan around, Zhou Quan would soon get a clear picture of West Kowloon.

As for what came next, their own Big Sir, or even more senior officers, would surely have plans of their own.

Kwan Man Chin, a man who could get along with anyone, was well versed in this sort of thing.

"Yes, sir!"

He Wenzhan saluted smartly and replied with a warm smile, "Don't worry, Big Gang.

I'll make sure Sergeant Zhou gets familiar with everything in our Police District as soon as possible."

Then He Wenzhan saluted Zhou Quan again and said with a beaming smile, "Sergeant Zhou, I look forward to working with you."

He Wenzhan didn't know Zhou Quan's background, but he knew how to read people.

Just seeing the way their Big Gang beamed at him was enough to tell him that Zhou Quan came from an extraordinary background.

Besides, Zhou Quan was so young, yet already had one pip on his shoulder.

At that age, an ordinary person would be doing well to have even one chevron.

A superior with a powerful background who might also be highly capable-that was He Wenzhan's assessment of Zhou Quan.

In these circumstances, He Wenzhan naturally wouldn't dare to show him any disrespect.

"I wouldn't presume to instruct you. I'll be relying on you, Sergeant He!"

Zhou Quan likewise showed his goodwill and held out his right hand.

"You're too kind, Sergeant Zhou!"

He Wenzhan hurriedly clasped Zhou Quan's hand with both of his, his smile growing even warmer.

After introducing Zhou Quan to all the officers on duty, Kwan Man Chin glanced at the time on his watch.

"It's almost time for shooting practice."

He clapped his hands twice and said with a smile, "Come on, let's head to the shooting range and let them see what Sergeant Zhou can do."

Shirley Shield, the top award in the Inspector Class at the Police Academy, went to the most capable probationary inspector of that year.

His firearms scores were sure to be beyond question, too.

Kwan Man Chin knew Zhou Quan was far more capable than his youthful appearance suggested, but the members of his squad didn't know that yet.

Knowing what Kong Chi Lap had in mind, he naturally had to find an opportunity for Zhou Quan to show his abilities.

The Mobile Unit's daily shooting practice, without fail, was clearly the perfect opportunity.

Though the officers in the Second Squad would never underestimate Zhou Quan simply because of the single pip on his shoulder, no matter when or where, a person had to demonstrate his abilities to earn the confidence of those under him.
