Arc 12Luo Xin Takes the Reins
After Liu Bang’s death, Luo Xin helped Lü Zhi establish her regency and reshape the Han government while extending the court’s authority over Lingnan and the vassal kingdoms. Lü Zhi died entrusting Liu Ying and the realm to Luo Xin, whose authority grew as Luo Zhongkan’s caravan faced danger in the Western Regions.
- Luo Ling accepted Liu Bang’s offer to become God of the Four Seasons, helped him settle Lingnan’s status, and returned to Zhao City as Liu Bang turned against Ying Bu and later died.
- Luo Xin returned to Chang’an, supported Lü Zhi’s regency, and became Marquis of Dong'e and chief minister as the court recognized her rule.
- Luo Chen advised Lü Zhi on protecting small landowners, building a shared Han identity, and strengthening central government, then presented a system of offices that placed the chancellor at the center of civil administration.
- Luo Xin became chancellor and traveled to Lingnan, where he outlined conditions for Zhao Tuo to establish an All Xia State and led Han forces against a Xi'ou and Luo Yue revolt.
- Luo Xin guided Lü Zhi through Liu Ying’s marriage arrangements and warned the meritorious officials against misusing recommendations, while Lü Zhi secured their support against the Lords King.
- Lü Zhi summoned the vassal kings and marquises to report their populations and resources, stripped Liu Yu of Changsha after exposing his false figures, and required the kingdoms to pay taxes to the Son of Heaven.
- Luo Xin urged Lü Zhi to prepare carefully before confronting the Lords King, and after years of provisioning and troop training he stood by Liu Ying as Lü Zhi died and entrusted the realm to him.
- Liu Ying made Luo Xin Grand Chancellor and Father Chancellor, granted him the Nine Bestowments, and entrusted Great Han to him, while Luo Zhongkan’s caravan encountered mounted bandits beyond the frontier pass.
