It went exactly as Scout had expected.
Against a Draven with that gear at this point in the game, he simply couldn't play.
The moment he arrived in lane, with Baolan's Alistar still placing vision in the jungle, Lu Chen began shoving the wave without a care, advancing toward Cassiopeia as he did.
Once he was close enough, Lu Chen activated W, rushed forward, and brought an axe down.
Slash!
Critical hit!
A bright red number floated above Scout's head-384!
"Shibal!"
Scout swore instinctively. Even his mouse hand trembled at the damage.
Are you kidding me? It's only eleven minutes in!
His Cassiopeia was still stacking Tear of the Goddess. She hadn't completed a single item and had barely over a thousand health.
In other words, that single axe had erased a third of his health bar!
Scout swiftly threw out W to block the path and retreated toward his turret. He couldn't fight this. There was no fucking way!
But Lu Chen refused to let him off. He used E, Stand Aside, to briefly knock Cassiopeia aside and slow her, then activated W and charged forward.
Slash!
Another axe came down.
This one didn't crit, but the damage number above Cassiopeia's head still reached 252!
Just two hits had taken Cassiopeia below half health!
Fortunately, Scout had been cautious from the start. The moment Draven appeared in lane, he had stayed close to his turret, so he quickly made it back underneath.
"Whew..."
Only then did Scout breathe a sigh of relief.
His expression remained grim, though. Understandably so-he had been laning against Syndra in mid just fine, only for a Draven to suddenly show up and nearly force his Flash with two hits.
Anyone would have been left reeling.
Then Scout's eyes suddenly widened. The enemy Draven had chased him straight under the turret without a care!
"???"
Scout's head filled with question marks. Aren't you underestimating me a little too much?!
No matter how fed you are, you're still just an ADC!
At this stage, Draven didn't even have a thousand health. A few turret shots would kill him!
With two spinning axes whirling, Draven walked straight into turret range under Scout's gaze.
Scout first tried a predictive Q. As expected, Draven dodged it with a sharp right-angle sidestep.
He immediately sent Cassiopeia fleeing toward the second turret without looking back.
Lu Chen wasn't stupid either. Once he couldn't catch up, he turned around and left turret range.
"This guy..." Scout gritted his teeth, reluctant to give up the biggest kill on the map just like that.
If he could claim Draven's bounty, they would still have a chance!
So... he turned back!
Like bait dangling from a hook, Cassiopeia returned beneath the outer turret.
It worked immediately. Seeing an opportunity, Lu Chen decisively turned and walked back under the turret too.
The two were like a fishhook and a big fish tugging against each other, constantly testing the distance.
Scout wanted to avoid Draven's autos while luring him under the turret to take shots, allowing him to secure the kill safely.
Lu Chen's plan was much simpler: as long as he could get into autoattack range, he would hack his opponent to death!
Finally, after a few seconds of back-and-forth, both seemed to compromise. Cassiopeia entered Draven's attack range, and Draven entered the turret's.
At that very instant, golden light flashed!
Cassiopeia had been standing beneath the turret, facing the second turret as though she intended to keep retreating. Instead, she suddenly Flashed backward and unleashed her ultimate!
Hiss!
Amid a serpentine hiss, the light of Petrifying Gaze erupted!
At that very instant.
Scout's pupils shrank to pinpricks.
Because Draven... had turned around!
"This is where Draven's dazzling charm shines!"
Two axes came down in quick succession, leaving Cassiopeia with a sliver of health.
Only then did Scout react and hurriedly try to turn and flee, but it was clearly too late.
The final axe fell.
"IG West has slain EDG Scout!"
"Killing spree!"
Meanwhile, thanks to the lifesteal from Bloodthirster and his keystone mastery, Warlord's Bloodlust, Draven actually survived the turret's attacks.
He had barely fifty health left, but the incoming minion wave immediately let him lifesteal back to full.
The bounty wasn't much, but together with the kill gold, he still pocketed nearly five hundred!
"..." Staring at the Draven on his screen, Scout was completely numb.
He looked around at his teammates, bitterness filling his mouth. "How are we supposed to deal with this Draven later?"
Silence.
Nobody said a word.
Deal with him? They would be lucky if he didn't start farming them in their fountain.
With this level of farm and mechanics, the word "tanky" simply didn't exist to this Draven!
He was far too far ahead.
After this recall, he could probably finish Infinity Edge too.
A Guang's Maokai in top lane still only had two components for Frozen Heart. If he actually tried to tank this Draven, he would last two extra axes at most.
Sure enough.
The pace that followed was even faster than the previous game's turret-rushing Caitlyn.
After all, Draven's snowballing ability was unquestionably in a class of its own in League. Once he got going, he could chop down a little weakling with every axe!
Scout refused to give up in several teamfights, coordinating with Clearlove's Gragas and A Guang's Maokai to try to all-in Draven.
But no matter the angle or how unexpected the attack was, his opponent always turned around at the crucial moment!
Cassiopeia's ultimate never managed to petrify him!
For a moment, Scout almost thought he was watching that senior of his from the LCK-the Demon King who was said to never get petrified!
Meanwhile, in IG's practice room, Yu Wenbo's eyes shone as he watched from the spectator seats.
Draven was one of his signature champions too.
"I wonder if my Draven could do something like this..."
A few
minutes passed.
In a fight around dragon, Ning Wang's Jarvan IV Flashed in to engage, Rookie's Syndra scattered her spheres to stun the entire enemy team, and TheShy's Rumble cut off their movement with an ultimate.
Lu Chen only needed to stroll forward and claim a kill with each axe, picking up a quadra kill.
Only Clearlove's Gragas remained. He used his ultimate to block IG's pursuit and escaped alone with his big belly, upholding EDG's proud tradition of never getting aced.
At that point, EDG finally typed GG in [All] chat, and both sides left the game without another word.
In truth, EDG had wanted to surrender ages ago!
Their bot lane duo, especially, had been dead since level two, yet hadn't been buried until level ten...
But this was a scrim, after all. Leaving too early would look bad, so EDG had forced themselves to hang on past fifteen minutes.
"That felt good! That game felt so damn good!"
Ning Wang grinned from ear to ear. Even after leaving the game, he still looked like he wanted more.
Playing Jarvan IV had never been this brainless for him. Whenever he saw an enemy, he could throw caution to the wind and use his E-Q combo, or even Flash in and ult!
As long as he locked someone down, his team would win. He didn't have to consider whether they could actually take the fight!
"Hehe, Chen, you're way too good." Baolan's grin was even more carefree. Throughout the entire game, all his Alistar had done was knock people up with W-Q, or activate R and stand at the front as a punching bag.
He hadn't even needed to protect his own ADC.
