Louise acted like a sensible older sister, comforting the crying little girl in her childish voice.
Perhaps comfort from someone her own age had worked, or perhaps Louise's composure had rubbed off on her. The little girl's crying subsided into quiet sniffles. "R-really?"
"Of course! Look over there. That big dog belongs to Xia Xu. All those monsters can't even beat his dog."
Louise pointed out A Tuo to the little girl, Weiwei, her small face full of certainty.
To Louise, Xia Xu was the hero in her heart.
The last time someone had tried to kidnap Louise, her father had hidden her above the bathroom ceiling. When Louise had been at her most worried and frightened, Xia Xu had rescued her like a hero from a comic book, and had even helped her rescue her father.
It was the same with these Werewolf monsters. Even her mother hadn't noticed them, but Xia Xu had detected them immediately and protected Louise.
As long as Xia Xu was there, Louise would definitely be safe.
"Louise is right."
Multitasking, Xia Xu heard the two little girls' conversation and couldn't help laughing aloud. After calling for A Tuo to throw him the backpack, he immediately intercepted the Werewolf charging at the pair.
He stepped forward with a simple thrust, forcing the Werewolf to dodge sideways, then immediately flexed his wrist downward, turning the thrust into a slash. At the same time, he kicked the back of the horizontally held blade, using that momentum and force to spin through a full circle before slashing again.
This was the Kicking Blade Style, one of the fiercer, more powerful saber techniques. It used inertia and rotational momentum
