Lu Ran's first reaction on hearing about the competition was bewilderment.
He understood beast taming competitions, but with that prefix added, and with the organizer being the "Universe Maintainer," he fell silent.
Infinite City Will had said that after coming to this universe, they need not fear anyone. Even against a Universe Overlord, they had no need to back down.
Quite apart from the World-Creating Dragon being Universe-level too, even without it, if Lu Ran used the Universe Maintainer's authority to boost his pet beasts, they would not necessarily be weaker than Universe-level beings.
General Ha, who had previously held Infinite City in his mouth and instantly killed a Supreme God-level World-Creating Dragon, was an excellent example. And that had only involved General Ha stealing a small portion of cosmic authority, far from the universe's full power.
Of course, if they fought such a fierce battle, the already weakened cosmic consciousness would be in an even worse state.
But in short, in an emergency, they need not fear Universe-level beings. Only... the maintainer of this universe required particular caution. After all, this was an existence on the "same level of life" as them.
During their time in this universe, Lu Ran and his companions had heard many legends about Universe-level beings, but its maintainer remained quite mysterious. At least, they had heard no information on Giant Spirit Star. Now, at last, they had obtained some information from the Gemstone Queen.
