"Hello, Boss Xu! Back from your trip?"
"Yes!" Sitting on Starlight's back, Xu Ran smiled and waved at the neighboring shop owner who had greeted him. "Just got back. I'm going to open up now."
"You're not even taking a break after a long trip. You really are hardworking, Boss Xu." The neighboring shop owner sighed in admiration, then returned to his own shop to get back to work.
"Neigh~" (We're here!)
Seeing the familiar shop entrance, Starlight neighed and stopped.
"Finally back."
Xu Ran dismounted and unlocked the door. Looking at everything familiar inside the shop, he grew a little wistful.
After spending roughly a day in the area outside the city where wild Supernatural Creatures roamed, returning to the peaceful human city made the contrast between the two all too obvious.
There was actually such an enormous difference between the two sides of those towering city walls.
This world really was quite interesting.
Qingzhou City was only a tiny speck on the map of this world. Having experienced the world outside the city twice and glimpsed traces left by powerful beings through the giant beast's corpse, Xu Ran felt an increasing yearning to discover what the whole world looked like.
For now, though, all he could do was run his shop and grow stronger.
"There are still a few hours until closing. I'll watch the shop for a while." Xu Ran glanced at the clock on the wall. "What about you two?"
"Neigh!" (Training!)
"Meow~" (Training!)
Purple Cloud and Starlight answered in unison.
After their trip outside the city, Purple Cloud had a higher goal to strive toward, while Starlight's desire to evolve had grown even more urgent.
A night had passed, and the new day brought another six hours of training time. They absolutely couldn't waste it!
