The moment Gu Sheng and the others walked in, the madam spotted them. The menacing air around them made her expression shift, and she hurried over to greet them.
"This is Brother Sheng from Hongxing. Give him lousy service, and we'll smash your place!" a lackey behind him blustered, borrowing his boss's authority.
Every one of them carried a threatening air, which made quite an intimidating sight. "Oh, Brother Sheng! Right this way. I'll bring over our prettiest girls for you to choose from." The madam was nervous, unsure whether they had really come for a good time or to cause trouble.
Gu Sheng took a few steps, scanning the room, then paused slightly. He pointed at a long-haired girl in a nearby booth. "Bring her over."
"Of course! I'll send her over to keep you company in a moment!" The madam agreed immediately. The girl was already entertaining a customer, but she could simply give him someone else.
A moment later, the madam pulled the girl aside. "Piao Piao, these men are from Hongxing. Watch yourself."
"So what if they're from Hongxing?" The moment the girl opened her mouth, her feisty, streetwise manner came through.
The madam felt a headache coming on. "He asked for you specifically. Just don't get me into trouble."
"Relax. They're men, aren't they? I can handle them," Piao Piao said impatiently.
A little later, the madam brought several girls over to the booth.
"Brother Sheng, see if any of them catch your eye."
"This one, this one. These two can stay. Bring another batch." Gu Sheng picked two reasonably attractive girls. One in particular looked like a young thing and had an ample chest, so he pulled her straight to his side.
The girl he had noticed earlier also came over and called sweetly, "Brother Sheng!"
It could not have sounded more fake.
"Take her to wash that makeup off. I'm looking for schoolgirls. What kind of schoolgirl paints her face like that?" Gu Sheng said, lifting the corner of one eye.
"Oh, you like the innocent look! You should've said so. I'd have had her wash it off ages ago."
When the girl returned a little later, she really did look much more innocent. She had almond-shaped eyes, a small face, and a high nose bridge, and every smile and frown was alluring.
More importantly, she bore a seventy or eighty percent resemblance to the face Gu Sheng remembered. Still, he could not be certain. It had been a long time since he had watched her movies, and he was going by memories from his youth.
But she was pretty enough.
Gu Sheng pulled her straight to his side, putting an arm around each girl.
"What are your names?"
"Fanni."
"Piao Piao."
Gu Sheng was now fairly certain she was the one: Liu Piaopiao from King of Comedy.
He had forgotten which movie the girl at home was from, but he remembered this one clearly.
Still, Gu Sheng did not care about her past. He had no interest in persuading prostitutes to go straight. If anything, he preferred leading respectable women astray.
He had only wanted to confirm whether she was the person he had in mind. Apparently, this world really did contain more than just Young and Dangerous. That made things interesting.
"Come on, let's play finger-guessing games and drink."
"A toast to Brother Sheng!"
"What do you eat to get them this big?"
Before long, things were lively.
An hour later, Gu Sheng felt he had drunk enough, and his desire was heating up too. He paid to take both girls out and headed straight across the street to the hotel.
Sure enough, one had an ample chest and astonishing natural gifts.
The other's face alone was enough, not to mention that she was generously endowed too.
By the time Gu Sheng woke up the next day, it was already noon.
Gu Sheng lifted the covers and glanced to either side, then went to the bathroom to piss.
"Fuck!" Gu Sheng cursed.
It was like a showerhead.
Half his fucking piss ended up outside the toilet.
They had gone too wild last night and had not slept until dawn. Now Gu Sheng felt as though his lower back no longer belonged to him.
Gu Sheng pulled on his trousers and took the cash out of his pocket. He kept a hundred for breakfast and tossed the rest onto the table-at least two thousand dollars.
He had not asked what it cost. He just paid whatever felt right, and he thought it had been worth it.
Then he opened the door and left.
He found somewhere to eat, then returned home to find the place silent and empty.
"Damn it, she ran off." Gu Sheng laughed as he cursed, but did not take it seriously.
Bringing her back had been a spur-of-the-moment decision. Once he had seen how pitiful she looked, he had not felt like doing anything.
After all, he was a good man.
When he walked over to the bed, he found a note lying on it.
"I'm going to Third Aunt's to ask her to send a letter home for me. Then I'll come back."
Gu Sheng crumpled the note and tossed it onto the floor, then rummaged through the kitchen for his goji berries and insulated flask.
While he was at it, he checked whether his money was still there.
Fortunately, it was.
Along with the money, there was a gold Rolex.
Gu Sheng took another stack and stuffed it into his trouser pocket, wondering how the money could disappear so fast.
It had only been two days, and thirty thousand was already gone.
How had the previous owner of this body survived on a thousand a month?
Half an hour later, holding his insulated flask of goji berry tea, Gu Sheng pondered how to make some money. Mad Dog had been in the business for so long; surely he had built up some savings?
The money he had would last a few more days. Then he would kill Mad Dog and rob the rich to help the poor.
Having thought of a way to make money, Gu Sheng felt much more relaxed. He opened the Wheel and used his last two ten-pulls.
Beginner Piano.
Beginner Filipino Stick Fighting.
"I can pull even this stuff, but I haven't gotten any Chinese Martial Arts?" Gu Sheng was somewhat surprised. He knew about Filipino Stick Fighting, and it was fairly effective in a real fight.
Filipino Stick Fighting had evolved from blade techniques.
But if he could pull that, along with Muay Thai and Boxing, why had he not gotten any Chinese Martial Arts?
There were far more than just one or two kinds of Chinese Martial Arts, after all.
"The odds are way too low. Looks like the Chinese Martial Arts in this world really have something special to them. Maybe they'll only show up in the next stage of the Wheel." After pondering it for a moment, Gu Sheng arrived at a tentative explanation.
That seemed quite likely.
Otherwise, the odds of pulling everything except Chinese Martial Arts were simply too low.
"I'll find out once I get another two million." Gu Sheng was in no hurry. His Muay Thai was enough for now, and Filipino Stick Fighting was effective in real combat too. It would be perfect for using two blades.
As for Piano... it was fucking useless, but perhaps it would come in handy for picking up girls later.
Didn't Thunderclap Tiger like playing the piano? He liked acting like a cultured man and had even invested in Fat Lai's Cultural Company.
Except Fat Lai's Cultural Company published dirty magazines.
Gu Sheng considered himself a cultured man too. He was very interested in both Fat Lai's Cultural Company and Teem-Kwan's Film Company.
Besides Beginner Piano and Beginner Filipino Stick Fighting, he had also received four experience books. Among the other miscellaneous items was a Kukri.
Gu Sheng casually used all four experience books on Filipino Stick Fighting, taking it straight to LV3.
His stats immediately changed to:
Physique: 7.0 Muay Thai LV4 (800/1600) Filipino Stick Fighting LV3 (400/800) Boxing LV2 (100/400) Shooting LV2 (100/400) English LV1 (0/100) Piano LV1 (0/100)
With his Physique now at 7, Gu Sheng immediately felt his back straighten considerably.
