Over the next few days, everything in Yuen Long was normal during the day, but at night it descended into chaos as both sides smashed up each other's establishments.

Huge gangs of thugs roamed the streets with blades and clubs, attacking anyone they spotted from the other side.

Thunderclap Tiger was actually pretty bewildered. He really hadn't killed Ah Sin.

But Hongxing had already come after him and killed one of his senior men. He had to fight back. Otherwise, word would spread that he was afraid of Hongxing. How was he supposed to keep his standing then?

GS spent every day wandering the streets with his boys, slacking off. He had already done his part anyway. As for Big B's promise that "whoever takes Tung Sing's turf gets to keep it," that was just talk.

How the hell were they supposed to take it?

Even if they took it, they had to be able to hold it.

He only had a hundred-odd men. When Tung Sing came at him in force, how the hell was he supposed to defend it?

Besides, gangsters weren't running a charity. They expected to get paid for going out and fighting for you.

Over the past few days, Big B had been spending money like water. At least several million had gone out the door.

Of course, Big B wasn't footing the entire bill. The gang covered some of it, and the bars and saunas Ah Sin had left behind were worth a fair bit too.

GS was holding fish balls in one hand and a soda in the other when he saw a crowd pouring toward him from across the street.

"Hongxing men..."

"Tung Sing men. Get them!"

The boys behind him charged straight ahead. Big B leisurely finished his fish balls, tipped his head back for a swig of soda, then casually tossed the bottle aside.

He raised a hand, and one of his boys immediately passed him a blade.

GS made straight for the most conspicuous man on the other side. The guy had already cut down five or six people in a row. Who do you think you are, Ip Man?

Even Ip Man wasn't that badass.

GS cut down several men in succession. His target looked over and bellowed, "You're that LS?"

"You talk too fucking much!" GS hurled a blade at him, then slashed with another in his right hand. His left hand seemed to be throwing a punch, but a kukri suddenly appeared in it. Caught off guard, the man had his hand chopped clean off.

GS stabbed him several more times.

With the man dead, the Tung Sing boys immediately fell into disarray.

Before long, they scattered and fled, leaving injured men all over the ground.

"Brother S, you're fucking amazing! That was Piglet Ming, and you killed him too!" Big-Eyed Hua came over, brimming with excitement.

"No shit. Who do you think I am?" GS turned the name over in his head and remembered the man. He was another of Thunderclap Tiger's red poles.

That made three of Thunderclap Tiger's top fighters he had killed.

"All right, we're done." Gu Sheng called his men together and headed back.

"Brother S, I thought I saw you suddenly make a blade appear just now." Another of his boys came over and asked curiously.

GS slapped him straight across the face.

"Are you fucking blind? I had it in my hand the whole time. Made it appear out of nowhere... What, you think I'm some kind of god?"

The slap left the boy a little dazed, but GS's explanation sounded reasonable. His eyes must have played tricks on him.

GS considered it. Apparently, he couldn't keep using that trick. He would save it for critical moments from now on.

Even in a straight fight, Piglet Ming would have been no match for him. But if there was a shortcut, who would bother trading slashes fair and square?

After they returned, word spread that GS had hacked Piglet Ming to death, and plenty of people looked at Gu Sheng with eyes burning with envy.

GS's fame had been absolutely red-hot these past few days.

He was well known throughout Yuen Long now. Even people in the surrounding areas had heard of Quick-Blade Sheng.

Today, he had added another name to his tally.

But these were genuine victories. No matter how jealous the others were, there was nothing they could do.

He stopped by the bar, and the moment Big B saw Gu Sheng, he pulled him over. "Sheng's back! I heard you pulled off something big again. You're practically Yuen Long's god of war! I'll introduce you to Prince sometime."

Hongxing's god of war was Prince.

Naturally, Big B was paying Gu Sheng a compliment by saying that.

Gu Sheng had a drink and hung around the bar for a while before slipping away. What was the fun in spending time with a bunch of men?

With both sides fighting so fiercely lately, the bar hadn't been open for business.

It wasn't just this place. Even the surrounding pedestrian streets had been affected.

Gu Sheng made his way to the Grand Palace Nightclub, knowing the route by heart.

"Brother Sheng's here!" Everyone in the nightclub hurried to greet him when they saw him.

"Brother Sheng, you're finally here! Piaopiao and Fanny have been waiting for you!" The madam rushed over as soon as she spotted Gu Sheng.

Gu Sheng had been coming every day lately, taking Fanny and Liu Piaopiao away with him each time.

The moment they saw Gu Sheng, Liu Piaopiao and Fanny each grabbed one of his arms.

After all, he was young, handsome, tall, and generous with his money. Where else could they find such a good customer?

"Brother Sheng, I heard those gangsters talking about you when I was walking down the street today. They said you're so impressive!"

"My dick's even more impressive!"

The next day, Gu Sheng felt he couldn't keep going on like this.

Gu Sheng left the money, got dressed, and left. He went downstairs to find somewhere for tea and breakfast, then checked his pager. There were several missed calls, including one with the message 666.

After breakfast, Gu Sheng found a street phone and called back. A little later, he went to their usual meeting spot on the rooftop.

Officer Wei was still wearing sunglasses, leaning against the wall and smoking. Gu Sheng wondered if he had nothing else to do all day and had simply made a home on the rooftop to wait for his undercover officers.

"What is it, sir?" Gu Sheng walked over and asked.

"You're pretty famous lately. Even I've heard your name. Quite the big shot now!" Officer Wei said sarcastically.

"You told me to make a name for myself!" Gu Sheng replied casually, waiting for him to get to the point.

Officer Wei had been about to say something, but he shook his head slightly at the sight of Gu Sheng's attitude.

"Anyway, you did well this time. Looks like you'll be moving up soon. Get evidence of Big B's crimes whenever you have the chance. Evidence against Chiang Tin-sang would be even better."

"What's the point of watching Big B? Even if you put him away, he won't be inside for long. Go after Teem-Kwan."

"Just focus on Big B," Officer Wei said immediately.

"Got it." Gu Sheng turned it over in his mind, guessing that the police had planted undercover officers under Hongxing's other bosses, as well as in Tung Sing.

There might even be some in the other gangs.

That was one hell of an operation.

Thinking about it that way, he might not be the only undercover officer in Hongxing's Yuen Long branch. There might even be one among the boys he had recruited. The thought left him deeply unsettled.

"Anything else? If not, I'm leaving. I still need to go home and sleep."

"If you come across evidence of Teem-Kwan and Tung Sing moving drugs, remember to give it to me!" Officer Wei called after him.

Gu Sheng yawned, went downstairs, and headed home.

When he opened the door, he sensed something was different about the apartment. Something seemed to have changed, but he couldn't tell what.

Clattering sounds came from the kitchen.

A few possibilities ran through Gu Sheng's mind. He stepped inside and saw Kong Sang in the kitchen, turning to look at him.

She was still wearing the clothes he had bought her, but she had an apron over them now.

It looked like she was cooking.

That idiot had actually come back.

Gu Sheng finally realized what was different about the place.

It was a little cleaner.
