"Your movements were even faster than I expected, Sylvanas. When I passed through the portal, I heard you had already slipped away several days ago." The magical crystal reflected Jaina's displeased face.
Sylvanas felt no guilt at the mage's reproach. She merely smiled. "Then why are you only contacting me now?"
The Silver Covenant's ships had been sailing at sea for nearly two weeks when Jaina sent word. Sylvanas had to suspect that she had spent all that time in Stormwind City.
"Because something has made me curious."
"Oh?" The Female Elf voiced her question. Jaina quickly summarized Varian's reaction upon hearing that the Forsaken had attacked Southshore.
"You're saying he wasn't angry? He didn't even shout about revenge? Has the lion of the Alliance fallen asleep?"
"Don't joke, Sylvanas. Of course it wasn't like that."
"Then did something else divert his attention?"
Jaina suddenly let out a heavy sigh and silently nodded. "Something utterly terrible did happen. I had to go to great lengths to learn about it from an SI:7 agent."
"I'm in Pandaria right now, and you suddenly contacted me. Does this utterly terrible matter have something to do with Pandaria?" Sylvanas thought of the naval battle between the Horde and the Alliance, but the forces fighting there were troops each faction had later dispatched to seize the new continent.
"It has no direct connection to that continent. It concerns the Alliance fleet that was shipwrecked in Pandaria earlier."
The Female Elf was immediately puzzled. "How could an Alliance fleet have been shipwrecked in Pandaria? And the Horde... did a battle take place in these waters before?"
"Yes, Stormwind City's upper ranks concealed the matter. The Alliance fleet was defeated and scattered across different regions. Several ships under Admiral Taylor's command were among them, and... and King
