Nathanos did not hold Sylvanas for long. It lasted only a few minutes. His dark power constantly rejected the living, eagerly trying to attack the Female Elf in his arms, but Nathanos forced it all back down.
They spoke of many things, including Theramore, Nathanos's father, and the recent civil unrest among the Forsaken. The most important matter, however, was not mentioned by Sylvanas until the very end.
"While you were missing, we went to see Veronalara."
It was not strange that Sylvanas had gone to see her Dark Ranger commander. They had known each other since the time they fought the Lich King, though that was a secret.
"We?" Nathanos asked.
"Me... and Alleria."
At the mention of Quel'Thalas's regent, Nathanos slowly closed his eyes, his expression deeply complicated. Yet he did not stop Sylvanas from continuing. He wanted to hear what Alleria intended as well.
"Alleria met with me. We talked about many things." Sylvanas recalled everything that had happened at Windrunner Tower.
Saying this filled her heart with conflict. How would Nathanos react when he learned that Alleria had gradually begun changing her attitude toward him? Would they meet? Oh, of course! They still had a child together. Whether alive or dead, that was an unbreakable bond.
"She... regrets the things she did." Sylvanas spoke haltingly, carefully watching Nathanos's expression.
Just as she had expected, the lines between The Witherer's brows slowly eased apart, like a sheet of solid ice beginning to thaw.
"She cares greatly about your situation now, and she wants to help establish a connection between the dead and the living."
