There were many places in Lordaeron that Sylvanas had never visited. Nathanos's home was not among them.
Marius Farm had once been a beautiful sight, filled with vibrant open fields and fertile land. After the Scourge arrived, the plague had thoroughly contaminated the region, turning it into a decay resembling "Autumn's Splendor."
Sylvanas was now looking down over the ruined land below. Nathanos stood beside her. She told him of the Alliance's demands, including that the Forsaken had to return Stromgarde. So long as Nathanos agreed, the Alliance would recognize the Forsaken's position north of Lordaeron. But she believed Nathanos must have anticipated all of it. Varian's demands were overbearing and utterly insincere.
"Jaina is waiting for your answer, yet you brought me here," Sylvanas finally said.
Nathanos swirled the wine in his glass and glanced at the house. The ruins of the past had been rebuilt, just as they once were.
"Not an inch of the Forsaken's conquered territory will be yielded. I ordered Mortuus to reject the Alliance's demands," Nathanos said. Moreover, he had drafted a new agreement and already sent it to Jaina. Of course, he knew the mage was not the one who decided the negotiations between him and the Alliance.
"Are you not afraid the Alliance will turn hostile?" Sylvanas worried that Varian would refuse to compromise. The Alliance had not lost many troops in the Battle of Orgrimmar; at the very least, the Seventh Fleet's main force remained intact. They only needed some time to recover before they could march out again.
Nathanos drained his wine in one gulp and waved for the attendant waiting nearby to bring another. "Rather than whether I care about the Alliance's attitude, Varian should be more worried about my dealings with the Horde."
