The Heavenly Emperor’s attempt to kill Qiu Wuji failed when Chu Ge shifted the infant Qiu Qiu out of harm’s way, and the battle escalated as the Dao Venerable joined Qiu Wuji and Chu Tiange. Just as the Heavenly Emperor seemed poised to reach Great Luo after conquering the Heaven Beyond Heaven, Chu Ge connected the Bridge Between Heaven and Earth, leaving the Mortal Realm unconquered and halting his breakthrough.
The Heavenly Emperor’s bid to conquer both realms faltered as the Mortal Realm reconnected, and the battle in Central Heaven resumed. Meanwhile, Chu Ge fought Michael to keep him occupied, revealing how his years of training had made him powerful enough to withstand the flames of Hell.
Chu Ge stalled Michael while watching Qiu Wuji face the Heavenly Emperor inside the book. After enduring severe injuries and drawing on her conviction that both her worlds were real, Qiu Wuji unleashed a transcendent sword strike and declared it her own.
Qiu Wuji’s strike mortally wounded the Heavenly Emperor, who shattered the Thirty-Three Heavens in a final attack before accepting his own path and passing the throne to Chu Tiange. With the Dao Venerable injured and the heavenly realm in chaos, Qiu Wuji set out to find her husband, worried that he was still fighting.
Chu Ge turned the tables on Michael by drawing on the power of heaven and earth, then trapped and captured his Divided Soul with help from the White Tiger and Vermilion Bird. After stopping the beasts from attacking incoming fighter jets, Chu Ge led them into the book to handle a few final matters.
Chu Ge brought the Vermilion Bird and White Tiger through to the Mortal World, while the Heavenly Dao appointed Chu Tiange Emperor of the Center. After the crisis, Chu Ge reunited with the recovering Qiu Wuji, who declared she would leave the past behind and be his wife.
Chu Ge showed Qiu Wuji how the Dao Venerable’s sealed Heaven Beyond Heaven had become the Underworld, revealing that the world’s original design had shaped events long before the characters understood it. The Dao Venerable learned that he had occupied an undeveloped realm meant to become Hell and that his intended rise to Great Luo had been delayed by his early rebellion.
Chu Ge and Qiu Wuji left the Dao Venerable to face the Four Symbols and their allies, then recovered the Black Tortoise’s final foot and declared the story in the book complete. They investigated the Azure Dragon’s mausoleum to search the Mortal World for the missing Gu God, ending with their attention fixed on Japan and the Black Dragon Society.
Zhang Qiren learned that the Black Dragon Society planned a sacrificial ritual in Nagasaki, and Gu Ruoyan recognized it as a potentially real magical threat. Moon Shadow arrived as an advance reinforcement, but the ritual began ahead of schedule, leaving Gu Ruoyan and Moon Shadow to head toward the site with their forces still on the way.
Gu Ruoyan and Moon Shadow uncovered the Black Dragon Society’s plan to summon God, while Zhang Qiren led his forces into Peace Park to disrupt it. Moon Shadow destroyed the summoning formation, and Zhang Qiren ended the chapter sheltered behind her as the battle raged.
Moon Shadow killed Mizuno Shu, ending the fight and preventing the Angel Descent Plan. Zhang Qiren abandoned the Black Dragon Society and returned to writing, hoping Moon Shadow would give him a chance to know her again.
As summoning formations activated around the world, Carl became the vampire progenitor Cain and flew toward Huaxia, where Chu Jiangliu intercepted him. Chu Jiangliu revealed that he had tracked Cain and prepared defenses, while Chu Ge watched from the book as the battle began.
Chu Ge and Qiu Wuji joined Black Tortoise in the North Sea, where Chu Ge killed the archangels Gabriel and Raphael and restored Black Tortoise’s final foot. Chu Ge explained that the Four Symbols could close Heaven and Earth, leaving the group poised to stop the gate from opening in the Central Plains.
After the Dao Venerable died, Chu Ge restored the Jade Ruyi and established a new Daoist tradition, then arranged the realms' new order. At the Yellow River, he investigated the threat behind the other world's invasion and learned that Zhu Mengmeng might help locate its source.
Zhu Mengmeng helped Qiu Wuji trace the fate connections sustaining the other world while Chu Ge and the Four Symbols confronted its God. Chu Ge destroyed the passage and seemingly brought the other world to ruin, then collapsed as Qiu Wuji caught him.
After recovering from the battle, Chu Ge and Qiu Wuji confirmed that her original body had crossed into his world and decided to marry. They resolved the Gu God’s fate, finished the novel’s ending, and began a new chapter together as they prepared for their wedding and twins.
