Coordination
Lumian retreated to the area where the Vagrant gathered, patiently waiting for Louis Lund to emerge.
Not long after, Anthony Reid, the Information Broker, returned in different clothes, seemingly intending to keep his promise and find an opportunity to track Louis Lund.
At this moment, he was wearing a yellowish-white shirt with a brown formal jacket, no bow tie, and a round hat, looking like a junior office worker who had just finished work.
If Lumian hadn't already recognized his physique, demeanor, and gait, she almost wouldn't have recognized him.
After a moment's thought, Lumian stepped out from the gap between the two buildings and approached Anthony Reid.
His disguise had been removed long ago after he left the Valia Café; now he simply wore a pair of non-prescription Black-Rimmed Glasses and a brown wide-brimmed hat, making him easily recognizable to those who knew him well.
Noticing the Change in Anthony Reid's gaze, Lumian whispered as they passed each other, "I'm back. Go wait at the back door."
Although the "Prophecy" foretold that he would reunite with Louis Lund on Market Avenue, unexpected events must be prevented.
This is partly because the "Prophecy Potion" comes from his own response, so the effect won't be very good, and the content of the Prophecy may have some omissions. On the other hand, no one knows in what form a "Prophecy" will come true, and it may be completely different from the developments he predicted.
Anthony Reid looked away, nodded, and indicated that he understood.
He continued forward, past Roger "Black Scorpion's" residence, into the distance, and turned into an alley.
Lumian didn't turn around immediately; he continued walking in the light of the streetlights.
He had just arrived at a relatively dim area when he saw a person emerge from the shadows under a broken, elegant Iron-Black street lamp at the entrance of the alley ahead.
The man was tall, wearing a close-fitting Black Robe and Hood almost covered his face. He waved to Lumian.
Franca Lumian instantly guessed what was going on and quickly moved Past.
That Special Trait dressed, eye-catching fellow was indeed "Red Boots" Franca.
She didn't wear her signature red boots this time, opting instead for black ones.
"Aren't you afraid of being discovered?" Lumian couldn't help but ask.
Although the people of Trier are very tolerant of strange clothes and even actively follow trends, buddy, you're secretly lying in wait for your target. Dressed like that, not only will "Black Scorpion" Roger and the Stinger Gang take a second look, but even passing coolies will take a second look!
Franca laughed nonchalantly, "You don't understand, this is called a sense of Ritual!"
"Didn't your Older Sister teach you?"
She had taught me, but she didn't say it should be used in this kind of place or occasion... Before Lumian could finish speaking, he saw Franca wave her hand:
"Don't worry, you won't be discovered."
As she spoke, she took a step back, her entire being seemingly merging with the shadows, disappearing from Lumian's sight.
Having such an ability certainly allows one to wear whatever they want... Lumian once again felt envious of the "Assassin" Pathway.
If it weren't for the fact that he would change his gender at Sequence 7, he would definitely feel that this was more to his liking than the "Hunter" Pathway.
Franca stepped out of the shadows again and pointed to 126 Market Avenue in the distance:
"That Coachman you just saw must be Louis Lund, the one you're looking for. Wait, shall I follow him for you?"
"I know you Hunter have the noses of dogs and the eyes of eagles, making you very good at tracking, but you're not good at Concealment yourselves. If you keep your distance, you'll easily lose them, and if you get too close, you might be discovered. Let me do it; it'll be safer that way."
"Don't forget, Louis Lund is also Beyonder, and he worships Evil God, perhaps possessing some unique abilities."
This time, Lumian didn't resist or object, and nodded, saying, "Okay."
He couldn't currently give Louis Lund a special scent, and with darkness approaching and many pedestrians and carriages on the road, along with various tracks, if he followed him from twenty or thirty meters away, he might lose sight of his target if things went wrong.
Franca's rosy, thin lips, not hidden by the Hood, curved into a smile as she said, "Your therapy this afternoon was very effective."
"A man should be more broad-minded and not be afraid of this or that."
She patted her chest as she spoke.
Then, Franca took out a Glass Vial.
The surface of the small bottle was Cutting into small squares, reflecting the light from the nearby streetlights and shimmering with a mesmerizing color.
"When I was a man, I thought these perfume bottles were beautifully designed, but I was too embarrassed to buy them or carry them around. Now, I don't have those concerns anymore. Sometimes, changing your gender can open up a whole new world for you," Franca said with deep feeling.
Does "the door to a new world" mean sleeping with men? If it weren't for the crucial moment of tracking Louis Lund, Lumian would definitely have replied with that.
Franca removed the cap and held the small, push-button Glass Vial to Lumian's nose:
"Remember its taste."
This fragrance is refreshing and natural, like strolling through a summer forest.
"I understand." Lumian nodded slightly.
Franca then sprayed herself with the spray:
"Its top, middle and base notes are somewhat distinct, but not too much so. You don't need to try to identify them; you can tell it's the same as it just by smelling it."
"I'll keep about three or four meters away from Louis Lund. He doesn't have a dog's nose; he certainly won't be able to detect this smell that clearly doesn't belong in the Market District."
Lumian added thoughtfully, "I was tracking your perfume scent from ten or twenty meters away?"
This is a good strategy.
"Yes." Franca suddenly took out a handful of fluorescent powder, sprinkled it on herself, and chanted a low Incantation.
That appears to be a combination of the Hermetic Vocabulary "Concealment" and "body".
Almost simultaneously, Lumian saw Franca's figure disappear inch by inch, like a pencil drawing being erased by an eraser.
Apart from a faint fragrance lingering at his nose, he had completely lost track of the "Witch".
Lumian once again marveled at the performance of the "Witch" Pathway in the Low-Sequence.
The next second, he sensed the Source of the fragrance was moving away, getting closer to the three-story building with a garden at 126 Market Avenue.
Lumian moved closer in that direction, into a shady spot, and pressed himself against the wall.
After nearly 15 minutes, Louis Lund, wearing a red vest and blue uniform, a white tie, and a waxed hat, came out carrying a wooden box, along with Roger "Black Scorpion," who was dressed in a suit and had his black hair neatly combed back.
One of them sat in the Coachman's seat, and the other climbed into the carriage.
Why was "Black Scorpion" Roger following along? Was he planning to meet Madame Pualis in person? Lumian frowned slightly.
This introduced a change in his plans.
His original plan was to find a suitable place to strike during Louis Lund's return journey. With his current strength, he could easily subdue his target, even if the other party was also Sequence 8, given his intention to catch them off guard. Moreover, he now had the help of "The Witch" Franca.
But if you include "Black Scorpion" Roger, things get very complicated.
Judging from the midwife's behavior in his dream, this "Warlock" possesses numerous Mysticism and is quite powerful, fully capable of rivaling a "Witch" through the "Assassin" Pathway.
Although Lumian could have Franca hold off "Black Scorpion" Roger while he dealt with Louis Londo, that would certainly make the battle between the two Mid-Sequence Beyonder difficult to end in a short time, increasing the possibility of being discovered and noticed.
"Hmm... If ' Black Scorpion ' Roger really goes to see Madame Pualis, then I'll just follow him without launching an attack. Anyway, my goal is just to find Madame Pualis and make contact with her." Lumian quickly changed his plans and had a new idea.
The Hired Carriage began to head towards the other end of the Market Avenue, leaving behind a refreshing and natural fragrance.
Lumian walked quickly past the Gas Streetlamp, keeping a distance of nearly twenty meters.
After a while, he first sensed that the perfume scent had stopped, and after walking nearly ten meters further, he saw the Hired Carriage parked by the roadside. "Black Scorpion" Roger got out with the wooden box.
Not far away is the Honest Man's Market.
In just a few seconds, Louis Lund drove the carriage toward a side road that would bypass the bustling area, while Roger "Black Scorpion" walked into the market on his own.
"Madame Pualis at the Honest Man's Market? Or is ' Black Scorpion ' Roger simply escorting Louis Lund a short distance, afraid he'll be targeted?" Lumian wondered as he continued walking.
Regardless, let's capture Louis Lund first!
Behind the Honest Man's Market, pedestrians became extremely rare, and only one could be seen occasionally in the completely dark sky.
Many of the streetlights here are broken, leaving large stretches of darkness on the road that could normally accommodate several horse-drawn carriages side by side.
Lumian looked around, then without the slightest hesitation, took off his Black-Rimmed Glasses and started running.
Before long, he caught up with the slowly moving carriage, and as Louis Lund noticed the anomaly, he pressed down on the carriage with his left hand and leaped towards the Coachman's seat.
At this distance, he could clearly see the face with black hair and blue eyes.
Although the other party had put on some disguise, Lumian was absolutely certain that this was Louis Lund!
Louis Lund reacted swiftly, not bothering to discern who the attackers were or what their purpose was. He grabbed the reins with his left hand, clenched his right fist, and fired like Cannonball at Lumian, who was suspended in mid-air with nowhere to brace himself.
Almost simultaneously, he saw the face that wasn't disguised, and his Eyes widened suddenly.
Lumian did not dodge, but extended his right arm to block Louis Lund's fist.
Just as the two were about to make contact, Lumian pulled back his right arm, dissipating some of the force, and then swung it forward, wrapping it around Louis Lund's fist, wrist, and forearm as if it had no bones, thus allowing himself to be thrown backward without leaving the carriage.
The next second, Louis Lund saw the smile on his face.
Snap!
Franca's figure appeared on the other side of the Coachman's seat, her poised hand striking Louis Lund hard behind the ear.
This employed the Beyond Ability of an "Assassin" to unleash their full power in a single strike, and Louis Lund passed Past without uttering a sound.
