"An opportunity"
Seeing the surrounding collapse gradually spreading towards their area, and hearing Rosanne's clearly terrified question, Franca and Jenna exchanged a glance and immediately said to Rosanne, "Quickly draw a door that leads to the outside world!"
Clearly, they were no longer able to proceed and find the elevator or Safe Passage.
"Yes!" Rosanne nodded vigorously.
She turned around, holding Fountain Pen in one hand and a pencil in the other, and began to sketch on the wall.
At this moment, Franca and Jenna discovered that the Monster children born from foreign pregnant women and various other things were swarming towards them.
They also seem to fear falling into a bottomless Abyss, striving to avoid such a thing from happening, to the point that they forget about their goal of attacking the enemy.
Because they were so close to Jenna and the others, the Monster children quickly reduced the distance between themselves to two meters. The images of Franca, Jenna, and Rosanne were once again reflected in the eyes of some of them, and their fierce and violent desire to attack surged.
Just then, a thick "ice wall" appeared before them.
A layer of crystal-clear ice, in a hemispherical shape, enveloped Franca and the others.
This was created by the "Witch of Pain," Jenna.
Seeing Monster, some square-shaped, some like small beds, and some with heads resembling light tubes, swarming densely onto the surface of the hemispherical ice wall, trying in various ways to break down the barrier, Franca felt that her trypophobia and anthropomorphism were about to erupt simultaneously.
She gathered quiet yet Evil Witch Black Flame around her, waiting for the First Layer of ice wall to shatter.
In just seven or eight seconds, the crystal-clear, beautiful ice wall shattered with a crisp sound under the attacks of the numerous Monster children.
Black Flame shot out rapidly from near Franca and Jenna, bursting through the rapidly widening crack and igniting nearly twenty Monster children.
Their entire bodies Burning, howling and rolling on the spot, hindering the progress of many of their brothers and sisters, and setting the area around them ablaze.
Seizing the opportunity, before the hemispherical ice wall completely collapsed, Franca and Jenna joined forces to create Second Layer ice wall, only ten centimeters away from the first one.
"Alright!" Rosanne's voice rang out.
Franca and Jenna continued to delay the Monster children's approach while glancing expectantly at the patterns on the wall out of the corner of their eyes.
It was a lifelike door, outlined with pencil marks and blue ink, with a number "1502" on top.
This is the door to Rosanne's house, almost exactly the same as the Franca and Jenna remember, except for the color.
The current one is closer to a sketch!
Rosanne pressed her thumb on the corresponding position of the door lock, causing the fake door on the wall to make an unlocking sound.
Immediately afterwards, she turned the Handle and pushed open the door to her own house, which she had drawn.
The Gloom light behind the door outlined all the items in Room 1502, yet they appeared strangely illusory.
As the illusion gradually solidified into reality, Rosanne's joyful gaze suddenly froze.
She saw her windows collapsing, her balcony collapsing, both collapsing into Abyss filled with dense darkness!
The door and passageway that Rosanne painted, like the surrounding environment, crumbled inch by inch.
"No..." Rosanne uttered almost in a daze.
She cast a look of barely concealed Despair mixed with hopeful anticipation at Franca and Jenna, hoping they could come up with a new solution.
At this moment, the recent collapse has swallowed up the original corridor, causing the Wooden Door separating the two sides to sway and fall.
They were already very close to Franca and the others.
Through the gaps between the Monster children, Franca could see more clearly the bottomless, dense darkness, and something seemed to be hidden in its Depths.
The enormous figure, seemingly draped in a robe, also appeared to be the robe itself being blown about by the wind.
Even from a distance, when she could only vaguely catch a glimpse of its outline, Franca's inner fear erupted without warning.
Her facial skin then became translucent, and the flesh beneath began to writhe, as if it had gained some kind of life.
Franca instinctively, reflexively, looked away and averted her gaze.
She suddenly realized something:
What I just saw was the thing that Mr. The Fool or the Celestial Worthy Venerable feared most in his subconscious, his strongest psychological shadow!
Clearly unaffected by the suppression of power levels by the Dream, if they were unable to escape and followed the collapse of the corridor into the Abyss, death would likely be the gentlest and most beautiful ending.
Franca shook her head violently, clearing away the small amount of "paste" that was obscuring her thoughts.
While Jenna used the Third Layer of ice wall to block the Monster children, she took out the "Ice Talisman" and a Mirror.
She said to Jenna and Rosanne, "We'll leave through the Mirror World world. No matter how terrible the dangers Concealment Mirror World may be, they're not as terrifying as the psychological shadows at the bottom of this Abyss!"
When faced with two evils, choose the lesser one!
"Okay." Jenna did not object, Rosanne, lacking experience, chose to trust her two companions.
The "Ice Talisman" in Franca's hand suddenly lit up with a crystalline light.
The next second, Franca discovered that the glass surface of the Mirror had turned Pitch-Black at some point, as solid as a rock, and could not be penetrated.
"I can't get in... It's not the same as before the collapse..." Franca couldn't suppress the feeling of Despair welling up inside her.
Must we truly fall into that bottomless Abyss, confronting the most intense psychological shadow of that Great Ones?
"Can't get in?" Jenna fired her "Witch's Black Flame" and ignited the Monster. The children's movements noticeably slowed by a second.
Rosanne froze, her mouth agape, and asked, "Is there absolutely no way?"
Upon hearing this, Jenna gritted her Teeth and created a new hemispherical ice wall.
The surface of the ice wall was rapidly covered with all sorts of Monster children, densely packed, less than a meter away from Franca and the others.
The collapse of the corridor also reached this area.
Franca's mind raced, her eyes flashing twice before she said, "I have another way!"
As she spoke, she took out the black eyeballs left behind by the Resurrected Female Corpse Panatiya and other Auxiliary Ingredient from the "Traveler’s Bag":
"I have now been promoted to ' Witch of Despair '!"
"Perfect timing. I've been subtly influencing the Monster in this corridor with 'disease,' which will save me a lot of time."
The Monster children that had covered Jenna's ice wall and their companions behind them were all within three meters of Franca, numbering in the thousands.
"It's no use. The ' Witch of Despair ' is currently suppressed to Sequence 7, at most Sequence 6, and cannot forcibly open the path to the Mirror World!" Jenna instinctively retorted to Franca.
She tried to calm down, but the Monster children who had shattered the ice wall kept her in a panic. It took her a lot of effort to rebuild a new hemispherical ice wall just 60 centimeters away from them.
While using the Beyonder Characteristic of the Resurrected Female Corpse to create an even more potent Virus from her black eyeballs, Franca poured herself a bottle of Healing Potion and reminded Jenna, "You should drink one too, Rosanne just drank one."
Then, Franca quickly explained, "The important thing isn't my ascension to ' Witch of Despair,' but that every ' Witch's ' ascension attracts the attention of the ' Primordial Witch,' and I need Her attention!"
Seeing Jenna drink the Healing Potion, Franca stepped in to help, and asked in return, "Does Mr. ' The Fool ' know about the ' Primordial Witch '?"
"Of course I know," Jenna answered without hesitation.
The incarnation of "The Fool" had dealt with the Witch Sect many times, so he must have been aware of the existence of the "Primordial Witch".
Franca glanced at the corridor that had collapsed down to the transfer bed and said to Jenna and Rosanne, "Let's move to the middle and buy more time."
The collapse was progressing at roughly the same rate on both sides of the corridor, but Franca and the others were clearly closer to one side.
Before Jenna and Rosanne could respond, Franca abruptly withdrew her power to maintain the ice wall and sprinted at top speed towards the middle of the corridor, a dozen or twenty meters away.
Rosanne ran even faster.
After the three confirmed their positions, Jenna once again conjured an ice wall to block the pursuing Monster children, while Franca continued to spread the Mysticism Pathogens around them.
She explained quickly, "Since Mr. ' The Fool ' knows about the ' Primordial Witch,' there must be an image in this Dream that corresponds to the ' Primordial Witch,' but we haven't discovered it yet. And the True God can directly enter the Dream City."
"My advancement here will also lead to my advancement in reality. Based on our experience, no matter what state the ' Primordial Witch ' is in, whether the situation is good or bad, she will attract our attention."
"As True God, it would not be difficult for Him to discover that my consciousness in the Real Dream would most likely be projected in, and through His own Dream Image, He would truly watch over me as I advanced in the Underground Area of Mushu Hospital."
"He certainly wouldn't risk descending here, nor does He have the sentiment or motivation to save me. But as the Ruler the Mirror World, His mere presence is likely enough to open a passage between the Mirror World and this area, and may even temporarily dispel the dangers lurking within the Mirror World!"
"That can't be guaranteed," Jenna blurted out, her tone anxious and confused.
This is a product of the fusion of the psychological shadows of Great Ones and the Abyss symbolism of the "Mother Tree of Desire," and even more Great Ones have projected a bit of power into it. Even though they have all been suppressed to the Low-Sequence, can the "Primordial Witch," in her weakened state, break through the barrier to the Mirror World simply by gazing upon it?
"Nothing is guaranteed to succeed, but not trying guarantees failure," Franca quickly replied.
Jenna fell silent. She bit her lip and said in a trembling voice, "This will prevent you from leaving the Dream, and if the Dream ends soon, you will die..."
Franca remained silent for a moment, waiting for the Mysticism Pathogens to take effect, then said through gritted teeth, "We'll talk about the future later!"
"If we don't live now, there will be no future!"
"But..." Jenna's voice suddenly choked with sobs.
Her spirit tried to grasp something, but grasped nothing.
Franca interrupted her, her expression complex as she jokingly remarked on her past childishness and love of fantasy:
"After killing the Resurrected Female Corpse, obtaining Beyonder Characteristic and Auxiliary Ingredient, and learning that the requirements for all Ritual in the Dream City would be reduced to Sequence 7, I wondered, is this giving me a chance? A chance to stand up like a hero when everyone is in dire straits and has no other way, to take Potion, break through in the heat of battle, forcibly advance, reverse the outcome, and save everyone, save the world..."
At this point, Franca's expression suddenly turned serious.
She looked calmly at Jenna and gave her a bright smile:
"Now, this opportunity has arrived."
