Xu Le slowly landed on Sky City's framework, closing his eyes as he caught his breath.
He was not bleeding from every orifice, but blood had indeed seeped from his nostrils and mouth.
His chest felt as though it were burning. This was the first time he had truly overdrawn his Spirit Energy.
It certainly did not feel good.
"No wonder those Warlocks are so cautious."
Xu Le wiped the lingering blood from his nose, then looked at the slowly rising metal framework and grinned.
"Did you succeed with Tu Shu already?" Chi Xiao floated over.
She flew far more effortlessly than Xu Le did. At least she did not need to use Elementalization.
"I suppose so, though it's only a basic framework."
Chi Xiao nodded slightly, watching Xu Le with a rather strange look while he could not see her.
She really was puzzled.
She had created this metal framework, expending an enormous amount of Spirit Energy, so every corner of it contained traces of her Spirit Energy.
But after Xu Le took over the framework, aside from the effects of the shattered Calamity of the Sky, she had also sensed Spirit Energy invading it.
This Spirit Energy was extremely aggressive, eroding the Spirit Energy she had left behind at tremendous speed.
Chi Xiao could understand all of that.
What she could not understand was why all her Spirit Energy throughout such a massive framework had been eroded.
She was no weakling...
Only someone stronger than her could possibly accomplish something like that.
Her teacher might have had a slight chance.
But anyone else...
How had Xu Le done it? Could he have more Spirit Energy than she did?
How was that possible?
"Thank you, Lady Chi Xiao."
"Hmph." Chi Xiao turned her head slightly.
Xu Le was baffled.
