Background / History

Jiraiya trained Konan, Yahiko, and Nagato in Amegakure for three years during the Second Shinobi World War. Nearly two decades later, Jiraiya learned that Konan had survived and become a leading Akatsuki member. 164

Konan loved Yahiko and continued to define herself through his death and Akatsuki's original wish for peace. She blamed her own cowardice for Yahiko's death, while Nagato regarded Yahiko as the person most important to him. 71 283
