Sarah shook her head. "It's a lone young mammoth, but it fell into the Hunters' trap!"

Hearing this, anger appeared in the Druid's eyes.

"These damn Hunters! Wrecking those city-states wasn't enough for them-they've turned their claws toward the sacred mammoths, too."

"These destroyers of nature must be punished!"

He looked at Cao Xing and bowed respectfully. "My lord, please help the poor mammoth!"

Cao Xing thought for a moment, then said, "Let's go take a look first."

He didn't say he would definitely intervene. He wanted to see how strong the Hunters were first.

Sarah nodded, then turned and led the way.

The group changed direction.

A minute or two later, they reached the place where Sarah had spotted the battle.

It was a canyon, with a crevice nearly a hundred meters wide ahead.

Several hundred-meter-long tree trunks had been laid across the crevice as bridges.

One of the bridges made from a tree trunk seemed to have broken, and some creature had fallen below.

The canyon wasn't very deep, though, only a few dozen meters.

They heard shouts coming from below.

"Throw the nets! Quickly!"

"Pull the chains tight! Keep it from moving!"

"Don't let that mammoth get away!"

They followed the voices with their eyes.

Below in the canyon, a group of masked humans armed with knives, swords, and spears were surrounding a huge, gray-white creature.

It stood nearly five meters tall, its body covered in gray-white fur, and its curved tusks were a full two meters long.

Cao Xing's heart stirred. This was the mammoth, a creature that had gone extinct on Blue Star!

At that moment, several spears were embedded in the Icefield Mammoth's body, and blood seeped from wound after wound.

Thorn Capture Nets covered it, their spikes digging into its flesh.

On top of that, chains had been wrapped around all four of its limbs. More than ten Hunters were gripping the chains, holding it firmly in place.

The mammoth kept bellowing in fury.

"Rooar-rooar-"

Cao Xing took a look at the mammoth's attributes.

[Icefield Mammoth: Level 20] [Race: Beast] [Rank: Tier 2 Elite Creature] [Health: 3823/15023] [Attack: 974-1056] [Attributes: Strength 414, Agility 358, Spirit 361, Constitution 495] [Skills: Icefield Roar (Let out a deafening roar, inflicting Fear on nearby enemies and reducing their defense by 100 for 3 seconds.) Tusk Goring (Gore an enemy and send them flying, dealing 180% attack damage and inflicting 2 stacks of level 5 Bleed Effect.) Mammoth Stomp (Raise its forelegs and stamp down hard, dealing 300% damage to enemies beneath it and 80% shock damage to enemies within a 100-meter radius, stunning them for 1-3 seconds.) Frenzied Charge (The Icefield Mammoth enters a frenzied state and sprints at high speed, increasing its movement speed by 200%. Targets with less Strength than it are guaranteed to be knocked back.)] [Talent 1: Colossal Beast Physique (Increases maximum health by an additional 30%.)] [Talent 2: Cold Resistance] [Status: Bleeding, poisoned, severely injured, fractured bones...] ...

Cao Xing's eyes flickered. "Good grief, a level 20 elite monster. Its attributes really are impressive."

But it was obvious that the mammoth was in bad shape.

It had fallen into the Hunters' carefully prepared trap.

And the key point was that at least twenty or thirty Hunters were attacking it.

Spear after spear stabbed into its hide, sending up bursts of blood.

Its health kept dropping.

The snow-covered ground had already been stained red with the mammoth's blood.

"Rooar-"

The mammoth threw back its head and roared furiously, as if trying to break free of the Hunters' hold.

But its hind legs were already badly fractured, and it could barely stand.

The Hunters beside it were still straining to hold the chains, giving it no chance to escape.

One of the elite Hunters laughed loudly. "Hang in there, brothers! This mammoth's almost done for!"

"Our camp hasn't had meat in ages."

"Once we kill this mammoth, it'll feed us for at least half a month. The leader will surely reward us handsomely!"

The other Hunters were instantly fired up.

Just then, one of the smaller Hunters decided to show off his bravery.

He gripped a spear and charged forward at full speed.

Then, while the Icefield Mammoth wasn't paying attention, he leaped high into the air, raised his spear, and thrust it fiercely at the mammoth's neck.

"Thud!"

Half the spear sank straight in!

"Rooar-"

The mammoth threw back its head and screamed in pain.

The Hunter, however, said excitedly, "I did it! I did it!"

"I hit the mammoth's weak spot! I'm the bravest warrior in the Church of Light. The leader will surely recognize me!"

Just then,

the mammoth swung its trunk and lashed out.

Thump!

The Hunter was sent flying in an instant.

[-1074]

A huge damage number appeared.

The Hunter flew dozens of meters before crashing hard into a rock. He stopped breathing right away.

The Hunters were horrified and shouted angrily, "Damn it! Little Jack's dead!"

"Attack with everything you've got! We can't let Little Jack's death be in vain!"

A barrage of ranged attacks struck the Icefield Mammoth's head.

[-24] [-37] [-56!] [-32] [-147]

A string of damage numbers appeared.

Many of them were Bleed Effect damage.

The mammoth's health poured away like water, quickly falling below 2,000.

The mammoth seemed to have exhausted its last bit of strength, too.

It gave a whimper and toppled over like a small mountain.

Rumble!

The mammoth's fall made an enormous noise.

One of the Hunters shouted excitedly, "The mammoth's down! Hurry and kill it!"

The Hunters rushed at it like a pack of hungry wolves.

This mammoth was still young and wasn't as strong as the adults.

Any adult mammoth was more than ten meters tall and at least level 30 or 40.

The mammoth lying on the ground seemed to know that its end was near. Tears still glimmered in its eyes.

Seeing this, Andrew looked pained.

He dropped to his knees and came to Cao Xing, pleading, "My lord, please intervene and save this poor child!"

Cao Xing nodded. "Get up, Andrew. These followers of the Evil God deserve to die. I'll save the mammoth."

Until now, Cao Xing had only been observing the strength of the Hunters below.

Now he had reached a conclusion.

Below, there was one level 15 elite Hunter, five Tier 2 Hunters above level 10, and the rest were ordinary Hunters below level 10.

That was nothing his recruited creatures couldn't handle with ease.

Hearing this, tears welled in Andrew's eyes. He said, moved, "Nature will thank you, merciful Lord."

[Your actions have moved Andrew. His loyalty has increased. Current loyalty: 93]

Cao Xing nodded to himself.

Andrew's loyalty had risen as well. Before long, he would become the second member of the territory to reach 100 loyalty.

Cao Xing stood up on the back of the Tracked Robot and ordered, "Then everyone, move out and kill all the Hunters below."

Asam was the first to draw his longsword. "I swear to defend the Lord's honor to the death."

"Frost Wolf Knights, move out!"

Riding his Frost Wolf, he was the first to make a leap of faith.

However, from such a height, even a Frost Wolf would suffer serious injuries from the fall.

So Asam wasn't foolish enough to do that. Instead, using the large rocks jutting out along the canyon's edge, he made several nimble leaps and landed safely at the bottom.

Meanwhile, the remaining three robots and Sarah all sprang into action.
