Asam is formal, martial, and intensely loyal. He introduces himself with a knight’s salute, regularly addresses Cao Xing as “Lord,” and treats fighting for him as his life’s mission. His loyalty rises from 80 after his initial blessings to 95 after receiving a Heart of Strength, then reaches the maximum of 100 following the Cave Spider battle 12 16 26 41.

His courage is tempered by practical judgment. He volunteers to lure the Snowfield Thunder Bear only after explaining that the bestowed powers should allow him to escape. During the mammoth rescue, he descends the canyon using projecting rocks rather than attempting a dangerous direct fall 14 48.

He also shows compassion and humility. After rescuing three displaced women, he advocates admitting them to the territory. When Liu Muxue laughs at his crude map, he sheepishly admits that he never learned to draw and gratefully accepts her reassurance 23 34.

History

Recruitment and the Snowfield Thunder Bear

Cao Xing summons Asam and Winter while expanding his territory after the first night. After receiving four permanent buffs, Asam is sent northeast to survey resource points and creatures within ten kilometers 12.

The scouting mission brings him into contact with a lightning-wielding Snowfield Thunder Bear roughly three kilometers from camp. Asam and Winter return injured, crediting Cao Xing’s enhancements with their survival. After treating Winter, Asam guides the party to the lair and uses the wolf’s howl to draw the bear out 14.

Cao Xing kills the bear with Barrett and rewards Asam’s courage and resourcefulness with a Lesser Heart of Strength. Asam advances to Tier 2, then scouts the bear’s cave before the others enter 15 16 17.

Refugee Rescue and Hunter Camp Assault

While continuing his survey, Asam rescues Jasmine, Tulip, and Sapphire from Snowfield Hunters. He brings them to Cao Xing and recommends accepting them as residents, explaining that they fled Icepeak City after its fall to a Wraith army 23.

He later assaults the Hunter Camp alongside Andrew, cutting down defenders while his permanent healing outpaces their damage. Afterward, he locates seven surviving captives, including Tong Chuchu, and cuts the recruited refugees free 26 27 28 29.

Moleman Mine Expedition

Asam’s unfinished map directs Cao Xing to a nearby mine occupied by Molemen. Inside, he helps salvage Mana Stone Torches, fights miners, and accompanies the party into the Cave Spider’s nest 34 35 36 39.

During the spider battle, Cao Xing redirects Asam and Winter to destroy Demon Spider Eggs before they can overwhelm the group. Following the victory, Asam reaches maximum loyalty and receives Demon Spider Essence, evolving into an Elite Creature 40 41.

Deeper in the mine, he fights a Burrowing Robot and warns the party of an approaching army. Ordered to guard Cao Xing and Liu Muxue, he kills the Molemen who break toward their position 43 44 45.

Icefield Mammoth Rescue

Asam leads the descent into a canyon where Hunters are killing a trapped young Icefield Mammoth. Riding Winter, he engages several Hunters at once while the rest of Cao Xing’s forces join the attack 48 49.

After the battle, Cao Xing assigns him and Sarah to clear the battlefield. Asam subsequently hands over cloth bags containing the Hunters’ spoils, yielding 642 coins 49 50.

Relationships
