Forbidden Ground

• Approach: Mist covers the valley and blocks soul sense, preventing outsiders from examining its interior. Xu Xuan senses danger from it, although Yu Hua parts the mist by hand to enter 142.
• Chaos Race territory: The inhabitants initially surround Xu Xuan’s party without attacking. Every being Yu Hua observes is at least in the Profound Spirit Realm, with some in the Earth Martial Realm 142.
• Chaos Palace: An enormous palace houses Clan Chief Taixuan. Its dark Main Hall lights up when guests enter, and accommodation is provided for visiting cultivators 142 162.
• Chaos Valley Abyss: Its creatures slaughter indiscriminately. Long Yi distinguishes them from the Chaos Race, assuring visitors that the clan will not harm them if they avoid provoking the abyss’s inhabitants 162.

History

Chaos Race Encounters

Xu Xuan chooses Chaos Valley as a destination while seeking treasures in the Ten Thousand Fiends Abyss. Ye Qin knows its location but questions the decision, considering escape more important than treasure hunting. Yu Hua also warns that an elder once returned from the valley severely wounded and subsequently forbade others from entering 141 142.

The Chaos Race receives Xu Xuan’s party after Long Tai senses a familiar aura from him. Long Yi escorts the visitors to the palace, where the clan chief requests a private meeting with Xu Xuan. Taixuan later accommodates Fang Mulin’s group, while Xu Xuan and Luo Xiaotian bring approximately two thousand surviving Holy Sons into the valley 142 162.

The clan’s dependence on Xu Xuan is connected to his Chaos Body. Taixuan tells him that releasing them requires complete control of Chaos Qi and its fusion with his blood. The Chaos Ancestor later rebukes Taixuan for sending Xu Xuan into danger, declaring that a Chaos Body possessor should be honored as the race’s Chaos Child 163 187.

Evil Spirit Assault and Destruction

Tens of thousands of evil spirits advance on Chaos Valley. Their general orders the Three Vanguard Armies to exterminate the Chaos Race and seize the valley as a base for attacking the Four Directions Forbidden Lands 198.

During the ensuing crisis, a battle between two Saints is followed by violent tremors and widening fissures. Xu Xuan temporarily narrows a rift with the Black Shadow Sword, allowing roughly a thousand people to flee, though some fall into the opening. The valley breaks apart and exposes an enormous pearl identified as the Chaos Core. A mysterious youth takes the core and destroys the remaining valley with a wave of his hand 210.

The Chaos Race has already departed by the time Xu Xuan surveys the ruins. He returns to search for Yu Hua, only to be captured and taken to the Evil Spirits Leader’s underground prison 211.

Decline of the Heaven-Rank Holy Land

The later Chaos Valley is an ancient righteous-path sect once regarded as Primordial Dao Province’s foremost holy land. Its predecessors hunted brutal cultivators such as Heavenly Ghost Saint, earning lasting enemies. By the time of his renewed attack, the valley has declined so severely that its Heaven-Rank standing depends on its remaining Saint protector 321.

Heavenly Ghost Saint joins mysterious allies in an assault on the headquarters. Masked attackers slaughter disciples while the Primordial Saint struggles to hold off Heavenly Ghost. The Half-Saint Valley Master dies covering the survivors’ retreat, and wounded elders remain behind to protect them 320 321.

Inheritance and Reconstruction

After being released from restraints, Xu Xuan holds back the invaders so the disciples can retreat. An ancestral remnant draws him into a hidden space and recognizes his Chaos Body, revealing his right to lead the valley and inherit its reserves 322.

The ancestral grounds awaken a trace of Xu Xuan’s true Chaos Body and raise him to the Saint Realm. This consumes the space’s accumulated spiritual qi, causing it to collapse and devastate the sect grounds. Xu Xuan leads the survivors out 323 324.

Hunyuan publicly identifies Xu Xuan as Chaos Valley’s rightful master. Rather than abandon Primordial Dao Province, Xu Xuan accepts leadership and orders the headquarters rebuilt on its original site, with transplanted spirit veins restoring its cultivation environment 327.

Reestablishment and Resource Recovery

The rebuilding attracts factions hoping to seize Chaos Valley’s holdings. Hunyuan retaliates against defecting subordinate forces and the holy lands supporting them, destroying several factions before the formal reestablishment gathering 328 330 331.

At the banquet, the Shangguan Family, Heaven Buddha Temple, Ouyang Family, Yin-Yang Family, and other powers oppose the valley’s survival. Qi Tianyu offers withdrawal from the province only if Hunyuan confesses to the accusations against him and dissolves Chaos Valley. Xu Xuan refuses and challenges its enemies openly 332 333 335.

Xu Xuan ultimately compels the gathered leaders to record substantial resource pledges. Representatives he judges insincere are killed, and Hunyuan, Luo Xiaotian, and others are dispatched to retrieve the promised assets. These resources remove a major obstacle to the sect’s recovery 342 343.

Foreign Race Invasions

During the supernatural snowfall preceding the Blood Clan and Soul Clan invasions, Chaos Valley keeps gathering supplies rather than sealing itself away. Xu Xuan organizes teams to clear snow, transport resources, and prepare the Ancient Inheritance Grand Formation. Snow is eventually cleared within a ten-thousand-mile radius, while weakened Blood Clan Essence Blood is collected to nourish Chaos Heaven and Earth 359 363.

The valley becomes a defensive base for Zhang Xueyan’s group from Heaven Martial Sacred Academy. It nevertheless suffers heavy casualties when the Blood Clan Little Prince attacks and Blood Clan forces infiltrate through the ground. Feng Wuxia and allied forces help rout the attackers, after which Xu Xuan accepts membership in an alliance of surviving powers 370 386 387 388 393.

When the Blood Clan and Soul Clan occupy every other holy land in Primordial Dao Province, Chaos Valley becomes the Human Race’s last refuge. Xu Xuan strengthens its cultivators before confronting and killing the Blood Bat Great Emperor, Xue Mantian. The victory breaks the invading army’s morale 427 429.

Siege During Xu Xuan’s Absence

Xu Xuan leaves Primordial Dao Province with Lu Tianming, while Dao Ling remains to oversee its stabilization. By the later siege, Chaos Valley has become the province’s center of power 440 483.

Allied Foreign Races attack its protective formation. Dao Ling refuses to surrender Xu Xuan’s foundation and keeps Luo Xiaotian—now the province’s strongest guardian—in reserve. The defenders initially rout the attackers, but pursuing cultivators leave the formation despite warnings. Hidden forces then ambush them and surround Dao Ling with three Pseudo-Emperors 483.

Traditions and Purpose

• Chaos Body succession: In ancient times, Chaos Body possessors became Chaos Valley disciples, and only a Chaos Body possessor could serve as its master 322.
• Inheritance rights: The ancestral reserves and ancient sites were prepared for the Chaos Body successor. Xu Xuan’s constitution and inheritance establish his authority over Hunyuan and the surviving disciples 322 327.
• Continental responsibility: The ancestral remnant charges the rightful master with protecting the entire Nine Provinces Continent, not merely the sect’s disciples 322.
• Authority over major decisions: Hunyuan refuses to decide whether Chaos Valley should join an alliance without Xu Xuan, explaining that even a Saint cannot make decisions on behalf of the Chaos Body 349.
• Righteous-path legacy: Chaos Valley historically intervenes against evil cultivators and protects subordinate forces. It repeatedly saves the Azure Dragon Sect from existential crises without exploiting it 321 324 330.

Protective and Concealment Formations

• The sect-protecting formation is activated early during the dangerous snowfall and later withstands attacks from visiting cultivators and Foreign Race armies 350 352 353 483.
• An internal formation conceals the disciples during the rebuilding ceremony. When activated against Luo Xiaotian’s group, white smoke obscures vision and restricts his divine sense to three meters 332.
• The protective perimeter is not impenetrable: Blood Clan forces seep underground and manifest inside the valley 387.

Chaos Heaven and Earth
