Vanquishing demons at Lion Camel Ridge (forty-one)
Meanwhile, Ao Tu and the Tathagata Buddha each prepared Poison Pill, intending to poison the other.
Previously at Pansi Ridge, Ao Tu had given Wukong the Nine-Revolution Poison Pill to Tathagata Wukong; now Buddha has Tathagata and given Wukong the Poison Pill to poison Ao Tu.
This can be described as the Reincarnation of Heavenly Dao.
The two fought so fiercely that even Wukong dared not eat the pills anymore.
Fortunately, Ao Tu immediately recognized the Lotus Flower energy within the pill.
Wukong then told Ao Tu the whole story.
Upon hearing this, Ao Tu moved Three Zhang away and used his Double Pupils to examine the Golden Elixir. He saw through the Lotus Flower covering it and found a Sarira inside, but he could not detect any poison.
The Sarira seemed to contain only pure Buddhist power, which was extremely vast.
Wukong laughed and said, "Even you, Demon Dragon, have moments of fear? Why are you standing so far away?"
Ao Tu shook his head and said, "You don't know, I was once ambushed by Amitabha Buddha, so I'm extra cautious." As he spoke, Ao Tu wrapped the Northern Black Origin Water-Control Banner and the Southern Earth-Leaving Flame-Light Banner around his body to protect against the Poison Pill before daring to step forward to take a look. However, he still didn't take them himself, letting Wukong hold them for him.
After looking around, I still couldn't find any flaws in the toxicity.
The object truly resembled Sarira of a Great Virtuous Eminent Monk.
Ao Tu was puzzled, wondering if his cultivation level was too low to see through the pill, or Tathagata Monk was deceiving him.
Just then, the Green Lion, White Elephant, and Golden-Winged Great Peng arrived, shouting, "Third Great King, what good thing have you caught this time? It smells so good!"
Upon seeing this, Ao Tu remembered that Wukong had said this item could make the Three Demons abandon evil and turn to good, so he thought he might as well give it a try and said:
"The Great Sage stole a Golden Elixir from the Tathagata; do you recognize it?"
Upon hearing this, the Three Demons looked at Wukong's hand.
Wukong held the Golden Elixir.
The Three Demons, smelling the fragrance of the elixir, all rushed forward.
But then the Golden Sarira shone brightly, illuminating the faces of the Three Demons. The Three Demons all showed expressions of fear, not knowing what they had seen. The Green Lion and White Elephant transformed into their Original Form and lay prostrate on the ground; the Golden-Winged Great Peng's beak protruded, transforming into Golden-Winged Great Peng, and it spread its wings and flew westward.
Upon seeing this, Ao Tu grabbed Golden-Winged Great Peng and pulled him back. He asked him what he had seen, but Golden-Winged Great Peng couldn't say anything and just circled around Ao Tu's shoulder.
Ao Tu was shocked to discover that the substance was indeed poisonous. Upon closer inspection, he still could not discern its toxicity.
At this moment, Tiger Vanguard and others also arrived.
Ao Tu instructed the demons to stay away, and then went to invite Guanyin Bodhisattva over.
Guanyin Bodhisattva examined the pill and recognized it, saying, "This is Holy Buddha Sarira, left behind by the Holy Buddha upon his passing. There are eighteen of them, passed down through generations to the World-Honored One. One was offered to the Jade Emperor and later saved the Dao Body Maitreya Buddha; another was given to Wukong, and this is it."
Ao Tu asked, "Who is the Holy Buddha?"
Guanyin Bodhisattva said, "Three Thousand Great Calamity ago, a holy being was born in the Western Heaven. Observing the barrenness of the Western Heaven and the scarcity of Human Race, he made a great vow. Later, enlightened by Amitabha Buddha, he opened the Western Sacred River, established the Western Sacred Land, and nurtured the Western Heaven Human Race. He sacrificed himself to perfect the Heaven and Earth, and through great Merit, he Attaining Buddhahood Holy Buddha. Today, the Western Heaven Sacred River that nurtures all spirits and the fertile land that sustains all things were Vishnu Bodhisattva Attainment of the Dao by the Holy Buddha. Bodhisattvas such as Mahakala Bodhisattva, Elephant-Head Bodhisattva, Great Brahma King all attained enlightenment through the blessings of the Holy Buddha."
Upon hearing this, Ao Tu asked in surprise, "Such a sacred thing, why is it not recorded in the Dragon Race Records?"
Guanyin Bodhisattva said, "Buddhist Sect scriptures say that when the Holy Buddha created the Western Heaven Paradise, dragons assisted him. Later, when the Holy Buddha passed away, the dragons, disobeying Buddhist Sect control, were expelled and replaced by the Western Heaven Nagas. Perhaps the Dragon Race harbored resentment, which is why it was not recorded. Daoist School scriptures say that the Taoist Jieyin and the Daoist Zhunti slew the dragons in the Western Heaven, but the truth of this is unknown."
Upon hearing this, Ao Tu pondered for a long time before asking:
"Does the Teacher think this thing might be poisonous?"
Guanyin Bodhisattva looked at the pill and shook her head, saying, "I once offered this to the Celestial Worthy Jade Emperor, so it should be non-toxic. However, I still need to examine it carefully to be certain."
As she spoke, Guanyin Bodhisattva stepped forward to take the Śarīra.
Upon seeing this, Ao Tu quickly pulled Guanyin Bodhisattva back, saying, "Teacher, you mustn't!"
Guanyin Bodhisattva smiled and said, "Don't worry, how could you possibly harm me?"
Ao Tu said, "The Guide Daoist is treacherous. He once used his Sage status to Taoist Jieyin me, a Golden Immortal, from behind. The Tathagata Monk is no less treacherous. Teacher, you must not take the risk."
Guanyin Bodhisattva said, "The Holy Buddha Sarira contain the Holy Buddha's teachings, which will greatly benefit you."
Ao Tu shook his head and said, "We don't need this."
As he spoke, Ao Tu exhaled a gust of Nine Heavens Astral Wind, which swept the Sarira into the Heaven, and then unleashed a Divine Thunder that shattered it into pieces.
In an instant, golden mist filled the sky, and Holy Light shone down.
The accumulated Blood Fiend of the demons over the years was forcefully pushed aside by the golden mist.
But then, a Vision appeared within the golden mist.
Everyone could see that the person in the painting was none other than Ao Tu.
Ao Tu's Twelve Divine Fiends Formation of the Twelve Capitals was broken by Amitabha Buddha, all the demons died, and Ao Tu himself was also killed.
All his cultivation vanished like flowing water.
Ao Tu looked at the Vision and couldn't help but sneer.
The Tathagata Monk's pretense to fool him shows he really had no other tricks up his sleeve.
The demons all laughed at this, not taking it seriously.
The golden mist dissipated, and the Blood Fiend regrouped.
Yet, within the Blood Fiend, a Vision appeared.
It was after Ao Tu was killed by Amitabha Buddha that he was unwilling to accept defeat and harbored great resentment. His True Spirit wandered to the Northern Utarakuru, without a head, hands, body, feet, or heart. He transformed into a Primordial Heaven Great Evil God with only his Evil Qi.
The demons were terrified by the Evil Qi emanating from it.
The Evil Qi wasn't in the Vision, but poured down like clouds hanging from the sky, directly falling on Ao Tu.
Ao Tu himself was completely unaware of this.
It was as if that was inherent to him.
For example, people don't consciously realize they have five fingers, two feet, or two eyes.
The Green Lion and White Elephant lay prostrate on the ground, not daring to move an inch.
The Golden-Winged Great Peng also folded its wings, stood on Ao Tu's shoulder, closed its eyes and lowered its head, not daring to make a sound.
Tiger Vanguard and White Bone Spirit called out "Great King," but their voices were blocked by the Evil Qi.
The Scorpion Demon hurriedly walked towards Ao Tu, but was hit by the Evil Qi and flew far away, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
The blood was drawn into it by Evil Qi.
The Maids in the mansion were seven Spider Demon from Pansi Ridge. They stepped forward to warn Ao Tu, but their cultivation was too low, and they were instantly turned into blood and qi and absorbed into the Evil Qi.
Upon seeing this, all the demons were so frightened that their legs went weak.
Guanyin Bodhisattva was very worried and tried to cover Ao Tu's eyes to prevent Ao Tu from seeing the Vision, but her palm was broken by Evil Qi and dissolved directly.
Upon seeing this, Ao Tu suddenly realized what was happening. The Evil Qi seemed to obey him, following Ao Tu's wishes, and returned the palm that had been dissolved to Guanyin Bodhisattva.
Then the seven Spider Demon were resurrected, and the Scorpion Demon recovered from its injuries.
Even so, the demons were still terrified.
In the Vision, after the Evil God was born, he was worshipped by all the spirits of the Northern Utarakuru.
The Evil God showed no mercy to his followers, enslaving them with whips and forcing them to labor. Those who resisted were all killed with swords, all in order to accumulate strength to attack the Western Heaven.
The demons, seeing this, couldn't bear it. One Demon said, "Being enslaved like this is worse than being eaten by us!"
No sooner had these words been spoken than the Evil God devoured the blood and essence of several rebellious creatures, leaving only their thin skins.
The Demon quickly stopped making a sound.
Because he saw that the blood essence from the consumption, along with the Evil Qi, landed on the Third Great King, making the Third Great King's aura even stronger.
