Teaching Disciples in Jade Flower Prefecture (9)
Meanwhile, Bai Ze, carrying the two treasures, went outside and saw Wukong and Bajie fighting over them.
Because brothers fight and brothers contend; their disciples fight for the Throne, and those who aspire to be teachers are naturally also bound to struggle.
Both of them wanted to capture Bai Ze first, so they could go and achieve merit.
Wukong was nimble and quick; Bajie his Lumbersome, followed closely behind.
Upon seeing Bai Ze emerge, Wukong's face lit up with joy. He threw out his Alms Bowl, which emitted a burst of Buddha-Light as he tried to take it.
Seeing this, Bai Ze hurriedly threw out the Jade Ruyi, which hit the Alms Bowl with a "bang." The Alms Bowl was overturned, the Golden Light faded, and it fell to the ground. The yellow lion, the Nao Lion, Tuanshiang rolled out of it in a daze.
Wukong was greatly surprised, thinking to himself, "What kind of treasure is this? It's incredibly powerful!"
Seeing that the Alms Bowl was broken, Bai Ze struck Wukong with the Five Virtues Seal. Wukong turned his back to dodge, but the blow landed on his shoulder, as if a mountain had crashed down on him. Even with his ability to Carrying Mountains and Chasing the Moon, he staggered and nearly fell to the ground.
It turns out that the mountain was where Alu lived when he brought rain to the people. Bearing the Merit, it fell into Ao Tu and was then refined using the Five Virtues Method. Its power is extremely great, and only those who possess all five virtues can bear it, otherwise they will be crushed by the Merit.
Although Wukong possessed a righteous heart, he could not be considered to have all five virtues. Let alone the five virtues, even the four virtues would be difficult for him. Therefore, he could not bear the weight of the mountain and was nearly defeated after being hit by it.
Wukong hurriedly fled backwards.
Bajie was behind and hadn't seen what was happening, asked, "Brother! What's wrong?"
Wukong pointed and said, "Bajie, look!"
Bajie looked up and saw a large seal with the word "" coming towards him, and engraved with the five characters "Benevolence, Righteousness, Properity, Wisdom and Trust". He was so frightened that he quickly turned around and backed away.
Wukong had already jumped behind Bajie.
The seal instantly landed on Bajie, transforming into a large mountain that pressed down on Bajie.
Unable to break free, Bajie cried out, "Brother! Brother! Please help me!"
Wukong said, "Fool, where are your Thirty-Six Transformations?"
Upon hearing this, Bajie remembered something, and in a flash, he transformed into a round, rolling stone.
A gust of mountain wind blew, and it rolled out from the mountain crevice.
Although Bai Ze possessed treasures, he lacked Supernatural Ability and could not see through the transformations, allowing Bajie and Wukong to escape.
The two fled down below, Eldest Prince and Second Prince saw them and said, "Masters, why are you in such a sorry state?"
Wukong exclaimed, "Amazing! Amazing! That Demon has two incredibly powerful treasures. I've even lost my Old Sun Alms Bowl! We must hurry down the mountain, or we'll fall into his hands!"
Bajie gasped, "Yes! Yes! Let's get down the mountain! Let's get down the mountain!"
Just then, shouts of battle came from above. It turned out that Bai Ze, along with the Yellow Lion Spirit, the Nao Lion Spirit, and the Tuanshiang Spirit, had come to attack.
The two Prince dared not fight back, so they quickly ordered their soldiers to abandon the Demon they had captured earlier, and fled down the mountain with Wukong and Bajie.
Bai Ze and other demons caught up with the Snow Lion, Suanni, and Fuli and rescued them. Seeing the fire in the cave, they rushed to put it out instead of going down the mountain to pursue them.
After the Flames were extinguished, they found the cave desolate, with countless Little Demon dead and their Belongings burned to ashes. The seven lions were overcome with grief, took the Golden Cudgel, the Nine-Toothed Rake, and the Subduing Demons Staff, and also the Alms Bowl that Wukong had dropped, and knelt down beside the thatched hut on the mountain.
Taoist Taiqian, "What's all this commotion?"
Bai Ze presented the Jade Ruyi and the Five Virtues Seal, saying, "I have driven the monks down the mountain and have come to return these Immortal treasures."
Taoist Taiqian, "Good."
The Yellow Lion Spirit presented the remaining treasures, saying:
"We were instructed by the Immortal to relinquish our greed and intended to return the monk's weapons. However, the monk refused and insisted on attacking the mountain, burning down our Cave Abode and killing countless Little Demon. Now, we are willing to offer all four treasures we obtained to the Immortal and beg them to grant us Immortal!"
The other lions cried out in unison, "We beg the Immortal to grant us justice!"
Taoist Baoshan, "You were wrong to steal the weapon first; the monk came to our door, and although his methods were a bit harsh, they were not entirely unreasonable. You are both at fault, how can I accept this treasure and take your side? Take the treasure and go back! Go back!"
The Yellow Lion Spirit, tears streaming down his face, kowtowed and cried, "Immortal! Did all the Little Demon under my command die in vain? I am willing to give everything I have to beg you, Immortal, for help!"
Taoist Baoshan shook his head and said, "This is all your fault for being greedy! How can you blame others?"
After saying this, he shook his head and returned to his hut.
Left with no other choice, the lions took the treasure and returned to their cave.
Huang Shi instructed the Little Demon to bury the dead and tidy up the Pavilion Gate. Looking at the ashes everywhere, he found it hard to swallow his Evil Qi.
The lions said, "Why don't we ask our Grandfather to avenge us!"
Bai Ze said, "Our Grandfather has always been a virtuous man who rarely kills. If he hears that we stole someone else's treasure first, he probably won't bother with us and won't come over."
The Yellow Lion Spirit said, "Why don't we hold a ' Alms Bowl Gathering ' with those four treasures, invite our Grandfather over, and let him see the desolation in the cave? He'll surely ask why, and then we can explain the situation and ask him to avenge us!"
The lions exclaimed with delight, "A brilliant plan! A brilliant plan!"
Bai Ze said, "That's difficult! That's difficult! How can such a trick be fooled by our Grandfather?"
The Yellow Lion Spirit said, "What should we do then? Are we to be unable to avenge our grudges? Are we to be forced to swallow our hatred? Is this something we brothers should do?"
Bai Ze listened, then pondered and hesitated.
The Yellow Lion Spirit, thinking that he was unwilling to take revenge, shed tears and said:
"Now that you've been favored by the Immortal and have a bright future ahead of you, I don't blame you for not wanting to avenge these old and young people in the cave. Here are four treasures; you can take one, and I'll keep the remaining three. I'll go and avenge the monk myself!"
Upon hearing this, all the lions wanted to follow.
Bai Ze said, "Big Brother Huang Shi, what are you saying? It's not that I'm unwilling to take revenge, but I've thought of something that might persuade our Grandfather to take action."
The Yellow Lion Spirit asked, "What is it?"
Bai Ze said, "Immortal once taught me to foretell that the King of Jade Flower would Prisons. The Old King did not believe it and even drove the Immortal out of his palace. If I had spoken to my Grandfather about this, Grandfather would surely have been persuaded."
The Yellow Lion Spirit was overjoyed and said, "I'll go and invite the Grandfather!"
Bai Ze said, "Wait! Prepare the invitation first and invite Grandfather over. I will consult the Immortal first, and then I will personally tell Grandfather!"
The Yellow Lion Spirit thought for a moment, then agreed, saying, "That's fine."
So he first instructed the Little Demon to tidy up the Cave Abode.
At least bury the dead and fix the gate first.
Otherwise, these Little Demon would all have been burned to death, the smell would be pungent, and the door would be drafty, making it uninhabitable.
Bai Ze rushed back to the mountain, but seeing that the two Immortal had not yet come out, he knelt outside the thatched hut, not daring to speak or disturb them.
After kneeling for a while, Taoist Baoshan spoke:
"The calamity that King of Jade Flower is destined to suffer is ordained by Heaven. Our Daoism path of ultimate goodness dictates that we must not interfere."
Bai Ze listened and kowtowed, saying, "This disciple understands." After saying this, he prepared to leave.
Taoist Taiqian, "Brother Baoshan, you've only accepted such people into your sect. They're utterly foolish and stupid; they'll never achieve Dao Fruit!"
Upon hearing this, Bai Ze quickly knelt down again.
Taoist Taiqian, "Remember this: the words of our Daoist School are the will of Heaven!"
